Grew up in Northern California. So nice to watch places i took for granted so loved and appreciated!
Well thank you! I can understand that. It’s your “normal.” A wonderful place to grow up tho!
I grew up in Sacramento and now live in the beautiful foothills in Auburn, California.
So happy that Mendocino and Avenue of the Giants are getting attention. Two of my favorite places on Earth. I'm adding Lassen to my list of places to go.
Mine too! Avenue of the giants is one of the most scenic drives in the world! You’ll love Lassen 😃
The floods of 1964 made the Eel River rise high above flood stage and it wiped out several towns. We just drove through Weott on the Avenue of the Giants and noticed a sign up in a tree showing the ''high water mark''. My guess is that the sign was 50 feet above the road. The rains scared me and I have never seen it come down so hard since 1964.
@@kimmer6 unreal!
Wow ive lived in northern california my whole life and dont know anything about these places, except for lake tahoe i have been there and i loved it. I really need to get out more!
Northern California is huge! There’s so much to see. You can travel for a lifetime in California 😁
Thank you very much for sharing! Amazing video!
You’re so welcome! Glad you like it! 😃😃😃
It's so easy to take all of this beauty for granted when it's in your own backyard. Great footage and suggestions 👍
Thank you so much! And yes - you are definitely spoiled to live in Norcal!
I live in Southern California as well and am happy to say that this is the first time I’ve seen one of these videos where I’ve actually visited every spot on your list, but I’ve had 60 years of living in California to do it.
That’s awesome! Is the list in line with your opinion?
I’m waiting for part two! I live in northern California. It’s such a beautiful place. Thank you for highlighting some of the gems that we have.
I have the footage! I could make another. It’s just a matter of finding the time to edit.
You are so welcome!
Lived in northern CA most of life and been to most of your list. But thanks for letting me know I’ve been missing out on Lassen NP my whole life! Been on the list for a while but might have to bump it up and take a family camping trip this summer!
You’re so welcome! Yes Lassen is a very underrated NP! Who doesn’t want to see boiling mud pots and acid rivers? It has beautiful blue lakes and rocky peaks too. Love it 😊
Amazing scenery and excellent videography. Truly enjoyed it! Thanks for sharing, Peter!
Thank you so much!! NorCal makes it easy to produce beautiful videos 😁😍
Burney Falls
Avenue of the Giants
Cindercone & Lava Beds
Emerald Bay
Mt Shasta & Lake Siskiyou
Point Reyes
Bumpus Hell
Glass Beach
Mendocino
Lake Tahoe
That sums it up 😃
I really love the places you visited! Your videos are the best!
Thank you so much! I appreciate that 😀😀😀
Great run-down! Cheers! 👌
Thank you so much! Means a lot 😀
Awesome
Thank you!! 😃😃
Excellent
Thank you!!! 😁😁😁
Beautiful
Yes! NorCal is stunning 😃
This was a great video with lots of amazing places to see 🙏🏾
Thank you so much! 😀
Really enjoyed this beautiful presentation. Great pace too. 🎉😊
Well thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it 😃😃😃
Video sharing perfect my friend
Appreciate it - thank you!!
I lived in redding my whole life, was born there. It was the best place to live because i was 2 hours away from anything great in any direction, id often drive on 298 to Humboldt on a monthly basis for fun get up at 5am, get dressed out the door by 7, grab a coffee, then off i go
Such a great place to live if you love nature. Honestly I don’t know why people pay the price to live in California if they just sit at home and watch Netflix lol
@@PeterOwenFilms Humboldt is a great place. I used to go there alot to escape people. But I left because of Californias horrible political stances.
@@mr.joshua204ahh that’s too bad. California is gorgeous! I don’t really feel like the political stance is that bad. I don’t like the cost of living, but I don’t really like the issues other states have either…
@@PeterOwenFilms in California, you're not allowed to stand your ground, and of you do, you can be arrested and sent to prison, a criminal can hurt themselves on your property while stealing, and sue you for it. The gun laws are ridiculous, the new 20 dollars an hour will make the cost of living even worse, and will kill jobs, crime is horrible, tweakers are all over, and the list goes on. I loved northern California, but I couldn't raise my family in that kind of environment. My last straw was when sx traffickers followed my wife while she was jogging, luckily she got home before they caught up to her, but They caught the traffickers at a near Walmart when they tried to kidnap someone there later on that day. And living in California, I just didn't feel safe the way I did growing up in the 90s. My last year in redding, that's where I'm from, buissness we're closing down due to newsoms new tax laws for buissness owners, which meant I lost my job that I worked for thr last 5 years. I had all this experience, but the only people who wanted to hire me were temp agency jobs amd mcdonalds. So I took my wife's advice, flirted with idaho jobs, applied over a dozen, and not even a week later, they all wanted me. So I picked a warehouse job, moved to idaho, bought our first home, 2 years later I upgraded to a cdl position, and have been in idaho for 4 years now, and I have excelled soo much more than I wouldve in California, financially and career wise. I'm even getting my hazmat endorsement tomorrow so I can quit and start delivering fuel to gas stations. In California I'd have to do a 3 month long coarse and pass through hoops, in idabo, all I did was take one online coarse, and now I'm eligible to take thr test. I can even buy whatever firearm I want, buy it, and take it home all within 30 minutes. My quality of life is soo much better in idaho, but what I sacrificed was my home town, and everything that I knew. It was a small sacrifice to make, for a sense of normalcy..until democrats turn idaho into a democratic ran state lol
Hey! I follow you on tiktok. Cool to find you here as well.
Sweet! Thanks for saying hi here 😄
Excellent video
Thank you so much!!!
@@PeterOwenFilms my pleasure
@Peter Owen breathtaking video! what equipment did you use to capture these beautiful places in NorCal?
Thank you so much! I used my iPhone 10 and Air2S drone 😀
Where are those sand dunes? Live in North CA but have always wanted to see those. Recognize them from the Doors movie...and maybe Star Wars?
Those are the imperial sand dunes near the border with Mexico 😃
@@PeterOwenFilms They're beautiful. Didn't know they were that far down. Thought it was closer to Death Valley.
Like it. cool recording! 😲
Thank you very much!!
Has anyone ever told you you sound a bit like actor Stanley Tucci.
Hmm no I’ve never heard that name before. I’m afraid to look him up 😂
Thank you. I'm moving to Norcal next year, can't wait!
You’re so welcome. You’re going to love it!
Wow thank you for sharing! We are going to be visiting California next month. What would you say is a must do hike if we had to chose one? We plan on visiting Yosemite, Sequoia, Hollywood and Big Sur. Great video and tips!
You’re so welcome!! Wow that is a hard question to answer. You’re going to beautiful places and you can’t go wrong. In Hollywood you should definitely hike to see the Hollywood sign. I like the Innsdale trail. I also love the Griffith observatory hike. If you want to see the ocean in LA check out the Los Liones trail. You’re going to love your trip!
@@PeterOwenFilms Thank you for the tips! 🤗
@@hikinginharmony You're so welcome! Enjoy :)
What would be a good Mendocino itinerary? I was interested in the rail cars or kayaking tours for a group but both are $$$
Russian Gulch State Park and the Point Cabrillo lighthouse :)
Great compilation! Im planning a road trip through NorCal in January. What is your opinion on road conditions and weather during winter?
Thank you so much! Oh shoot I've only been up there in the summer so I am not too sure, but I don't think it snows much by the coast? I think the weather stays pretty moderate, but if you go inland then it might snow. This is just my guess so you might want to check a few cities up there. Good luck!
I do hope your ok, we really got some major storms since Jan thought I better check.

Thanks man, Im actually already finished with traveling. It was pooring as hell when I got through Southern California
What is the place at 4:47 ?
And I would recommend these two places that are relatively easy to get to: Fern Canyon in Redwood National Park and Grove of the Titans in Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park.
That’s Factory Butte in Utah! And yes those are beautiful places. I visited recently!
There are so many amazing places in NorCal but I'm not going to point them out here. There are already way too many people here and don't want to make it easy for others to find them.
There’s endless beauty and special spots. If solitude is what you want there’s tons of places for that too.
Northern California really should be it's own state and branch off California like West Virginia did with Virginia ✌🏽🇺🇲
It definitely feels like a different landscape!
Thanks for giving a shout out to Pt Reyes. Fact check…….. footage you showed is of Bolinas and Stinson Beach NOT of Pt Reyes. Huge difference……..
Yea they don’t allow drones in Pt Reyes so it was the closest shot I could get 🤪
Id didn't go burney falls tho
You gotta see it :)
Glass Beach, seriously?
Yea!
@@PeterOwenFilms I loved it and there were (squirrels?!) that didn’t run away, just munching around my ankles in pretty flower fields
SOME OF THESE PLACES💋The other ones Kinda Scary 😲....Even Scarier than me knowingly seeking to purchase a 2006 Eddie Bauer Edition for LESS THAN $2,500😵💫🤢
What lol
@@PeterOwenFilms LOL. TIKTOK. LAUGH OUT LOUD
I wouldn't bother except burney falls
Burney falls is incredible!
#1 LEAVING CALIFORNIA sign .....😊
I wish more people would leave! Unfortunately it is the most populated state in the country by far.
Id just go to sequoia instead of redwoods park
Sequoia is awesome, but the Redwoods are magical :)
Lake tahoe wack
Haha no way! It's beautiful!
Theres really only 6 places here. You recycled the others.
I guess it’s how we define “places” 😄
Thank-you for the video. I live in Sacramento. The places visited so nice yes all of them I would recommend. We also have great food. Bravo. 🌉
Thank you so much! Glad to be backed up by a local! 😀
You should go to Pacifica in the Montaro mountains across from grey whale cove. It's beautiful there
So funny I was just looking at that place. It’s stunning! It’s on my list for sure 😃😃
@PeterOwenFilms lol for sure man. Enjoy your time there and everywhere else you travel too. Stay blessed and much love. By the way if you're in that area you should check out Sam's Chowder House for some good food in Half Moon Bay
Better to Avoid 🫣🫢😨
Avoid the beautiful Redwood forests, waterfalls, volcanoes and Pacific Coast?? What on Earth!?!?
