Reviving a 1955 Chevy Gasser IN 4 DAYS! Now We RACE

- With the deadine of race week in 3 days, it was time to drop a gear and make this build happen! It's funny how much time you take with items on the first go around. Then time starts to dwindle and you just have to get it done!
This 1955 Chevy Belair started life as a family cruiser then was up graded to a stripped down stock car. After it was rescued last year ladder bar rear suspension and a straight axle were grafted to the original frame. In sense it now had the "gasser" look but NOTHING else was done.
We had to install the racey 327, 4 speed and 9 inch rear end all in the matter of a few days. The car also needed wired, plumber, aligned, hell it needed everything assembled!
There was not 1 piece of this car that was not touched in the last 4 days. Now it's time to have our very own ROADKILL style adventure!
A pile of work. But the laughter was worth it seeing it do domuts. Keep after it. If it was easy everyone would do it. Only a handful are crazy enough to pull all nighters and work till your blind.
Turning that pile of parts into a running driving car is a major victory in itself! That's a badass machine!
Yes, this is what the car guys do, whatever it takes to gett'er done! No matter what the outcome, really Proud of you Dan'O.
2:10 fast forwarded right into that one.
Hell yeah got to love a 55 GASSER. It's alive again she looks mean. Good luck guys
This is the most joy and laughter I've seen come out of Dan at one time, post edit I'm sure but still infectious! Had me hoped up! Yup
The stance on that thing is on point! Brutal
Wow I guess I wasn’t faithfully watching you 2 yrs ago. Great build
Cool............... 👍
Looking forward to this real 2 lane blacktop adventure! Making good progress!
I was so impressed in the lack of a flexy hose! Then I saw the Scotch Locks on the coil wires...
Hope fully there’s no starter repairs in there future. 😉
Dan can push start it in his flip flops!
Finally Dan is working on a real Gasser! Old School Gasser had to have a straight axel!!! If only you had 1 more day to work on that jewel…
ONLY ONE ! ---- lol How about 2 or 3 weeks of testing at a track to get it dialed in !
Not every old school gasser had a straight axle. The majority, sure, but plenty on lifted coils
The nose high stance was a must
I love the look with the racing tires on the roof ,and the trunk on the back
2 Lane black top the sequel LOL
On cool ol tri 5 gasser, your one great guy to help your buddy thrash to get er done! Sounds mean, fun times! All the best to you guys!!
Hell ya!!!!…..you guys friggn kicked ass, can’t wait to see more of this adventure.
That car is not ridiculous it looks wicked!!!
Great job, this car is so cool, love it. Have fun, be safe, can't wait to see her rippin down the track. A hero of mine once said "the harder you work, the luckier you get" and I totally believe it. You guys know how to get stuck in so I'm thinking good times ahead.
It looks sketchy as hell, it’s perfect. It sounds awesome
All the hard work paying off she sounds totally killer, best of luck racing guys.
At least it's running and driving 👍👍🇨🇱
Nice job Guys! Looks freaking awesome!
Looks awesome!!! The drag and drive events are very challenging but the most fun that can be had with a car at the same time. Good luck 👍 in your adventures!!

Looks like you two have been working hard on the car. You know how to have fun on a weekend. Thanks for taking time to post videos!! Enjoy!! Cheers!!
THAT is frikkin COOL! Listen to that thing! Niiiiiiiiiiice!
This is the kind of stories ya will tell for years to come. Enjoy my friend
GooD LUCK. "Have fun".
Nice! Can wait to see the road trip and the drag races.
Yeah , 1,500 mile road trip with 5:30 rear gears and no overdrive , It will be cool to watch him peel his melted shoes off the scorching hot floor pan with no isolation in the car. I wonder if water temp will be a issue at 6,800 rpm at maybe 60mph cruising speed hour after hour. This is going to be so cool !
So cool. Absolutely ridiculous ride. Get yourself a straight axle. Thanks for sharing
Can't wait for the next video 🏁
The straight axle is awesome! You need one Dan!
It’s all in fun. Don’t despair. The important thing is you got out and got to have fun.
Oh yeah that's the way to tested drive it ,sounds good. Keep it going Guys
Buck-up, and I wish you well. You earned it!
That sounds great! Can't wait to see it goin down the road!
The 55 sure looks good for the amount of Hell that you guys went through. Two Guys Garage or 2 guys in garage makes it easier. Maybe Murr will build his Volvo into a gasser.
An adventure. Enjoy the journey.
If you guys can pull this one off , it's the win of the Century . Best of luck !
You're a great friend!
Not bad good luck with your ride be safe and have fun
Great Mission Dan

I like that second gen Camaro in the background please bring that home 👍
I believe that's a 67 Cougar and a Fox body Mustang. But bring it home anyway. He's done GM and Mopar, might as well drag home a Ford for a change
The Street Freak is KILLER !
Cool man i use to love those old gassers with 289 engine solid block can be bored 1.25 tho over an can hold up to he build for high rpms no problem. Love your style dude .

That thing looks EVIL 🤟😎
Way to go...now off to the races! 👍👍
Hopefully it will all go right! famous last words. Bring LOTS of tools & spare parts . They say a education is a wonderful thing and SCHOOL IS OPEN !! I wonder what cruising speed will be with 5:30 rear gears & no overdrive ? 50mph at 6,900 rpm for hours in July with zero isolation in the car ! Oh, that is so cool, love it . And SLEEP ? You don't get any sleep , just keep workin ! as lack of sleep is very cool . It's all about cool , nothing else matters .
Good luck
Man, that looks like a hoot to drive.. See? Ya need a 4 speed!!
