After quitting my management consulting "dream job", then being laid off from a startup job, I decided to take a chance and work for myself. Have you considered sharing your office as in finding someone that would like a set day or 2 pw and you have the other 2-3 week days so you both have the space to yourselves when you need/want to but sharing the cost ?

I hit "Comment" before I finished typing. 😆 I wound up having a chill NYE with my cousin and his fiance and friends. I just didn't feel like the production of going out, eating out, and feeling like I needed to be super-social, and it was nice to do what I genuinely felt comfortable with doing.

I had a NYE open house this year! 4-10 with a fake countdown to finish things off. I have a new baby and don’t love staying up until midnight so it was perfect! Had lots of appetizers, set out a bunch of games, and had friends in and out the whole time! So fun!
And I was in bed by 11 ;)

Thank you for discussing less-than-ideal family dynamics, as well as atypical holidays with families. SO relatable! I agree that completely severing ties with problematic family members just isn't something that I could do. What I personally did instead was sort of put a "snooze" button on interactions with/seeing problematic family members. The temporary hiatus and distance allowed me a chance to recalibrate, to give my body a chance to come out of that fight-or-flight default stress response, and to reevaluate my relationship, expectations, and so on.
this makes so much sense! sometimes we just need a lil break, but it doesnt mean we need to throw away relationships 💖
I always appreciate it deeply when you talk about family. Indeed not everyone has the picture perfect family and it is not often that people share that on CZcams. The New Year found me covered under blankets and watching a series with my boyfriend. We just spent a chill night in our apartment, we're definitely not party people 😂 and today we will have a family lunch. I think keeping the office is a good decision. The small offices downtown would be really annoying to film I think! If you never use the office, I would give it up, but if you use it then I think it’s the best office for the money!

I heard a statistic that about 50% of the world's population gets cold sores. It was interesting during college because people would get them for the first time, with all the stress. I don't think it's gross, it's just part of being a human for many people

ahh good luck! a few tips just in case the video doesnt come out in time: i would say being self-reliant, yet able to take initiative and ask questions is super important. ability to respect deadlines and prioritize work, and ability to accept feedback to tailor your work to what your client wants 💻✨
