In the heart of England, where rain is a friend?
Lives a lass with a lens, with a message to send.
In the Forest of Dean, with its canvas so clean,
She captures the visions, not all will ever see.
In every frame she seeks more than a name,
Looks beyond the seen, to the soul of the game.
This isn't just art, but a journey to start,
Into the depths of nature, and into our hearts.

I love all your photographs, especially your waterfall photos, my other favorites are the wild garlic flowers and the Bluebells. My photography started at age 5 when my father handed me his Kodak brownie, of course he would load the film in it and he only had to show me one-time how to operate it, and off I went. We have home movies of me taking photos of family and the world around me. I bought my first Nikon digital camera about 2 years ago, I was old school and love shooting film. Now it's 66 I've come to really appreciate digital photography, so much cheaper then film, but I still have all my Nikon film cameras because every now and then I still like to burn up few rolls of print film. My first digital camera was the Nikon D500 and my Ultimate goal was the D850 which I got a few months ago. I'm sticking with these cameras, and I don't see any point in going mirrorless. Back to your photography, I enjoy your thought process and how you achieve such beautiful photographs, and even at 66 I'm still learning, from people like Matt Granger, Tony and Chelsea Northrop and Kai Wong. So keep taking beautiful photographs and most importantly... Keep dancing.

Really nice and pleasant video. I totally agree about your vision of going out in woods with no expectations. about the stacked vs. unstaked photo, I personally prefer the stacked one. Ciao

When you came back after your MPB segment, I laughed out loud seeing you flat on your back after the trek up the hill. 😄I loved both versions of the yellow leaf on the green leaves. If I had to choose, I suppose I would favor the square crop. Great video, as always

Another great video. I think the child like approach to looking at the world is brilliant as it was a time when our creative was often far more fostered and encouraged. So being able to tap into that could only be beneficial I think.

Courtney, you eye for composition is spot on. When you said you were going to show the unstacked photo with the cascade out of focus I thought interesting but I’m not going to like it. But when I liked the unstacked one as much or even more than the final one. I looked closely to see why. It was the flow flow of the composition with the out of focus cascade as a back drop. Well done! Good advice to go with the flow rather than tunnel vision on a particular shot too!

Another great video, Courtney. I like both the stacked and unstacked versions of "Company", but each one creates a different feeling, just like the waterfall framed by fallen branches. As you remind us, it's always worth experimenting with different compositions and ideas.

Great moderation on the motifs and great explanations. Unfortunately, my English is not good, but I understood a little. However, I would like to answer you via google. I never take video, but can only imagine the added work involved, especially knowing as you walk down a trail...you eventually have to turn around, come all the way back, then return from where you came, adding many steps (do you ever count your steps while out photographing?), not to mention the editing of the video segments together! Always remember, those of us that are subscribed, truly appreciate the time, effort and expense of what you thankfully allow us the privilege to watch Courtney!

I live in the southeastern US, which - similar to your video - is loaded with greenery. Unfortunately, that also means snakes... lots of snakes. So I don't explore quite as much as I'd prefer. So, for me, summer presents some of the most challenging conditions to find pleasing compositions (especially when combined w/ my colorblindness). Thanks for the compositional ideas.

Lovely images and videography Ms. Courtney! I'm always inspired by your technique(s). You mentioned it being hot and humid, two bains to my photography existence! I don't play well with my camera when the humidity is so thick that you can lick it! Nonetheless, I sometimes dress scantily and sneak off into the woodlot behind my house looking for something to shoot. I've been meaning to ask about the two tattoos I see on your left and right wrists, do you mind sharing their meaning? Rather than using Macro lenses, have you ever worked with extension tubes? They are a great way to turn any lens into a macro lens (and get the versatility of different focal lengths) for cheap (around $50-100). You might want to check into them. Fotodiox make a wide variety for most camera brands.
