Nah, I am currently reading this for my English honors 3 class and this is not a “ lowkey really good book “ it is a HIGHKEY Really Good book. Such Descriptions, Such Idioms, Such Similes, Such a good book. But calling it a good book is but an understatement, calling it a good book is an insult to the book itself. It is but a masterpiece of American literature.
i cried at the scene where Janie buried Tea Cake. I was never a fan of Tea Cake but something about them describing dead people in their grave like they're almost alive to their loved ones is just saddening for me. Holy shit I cried writing this comment lol.
I think this is the best AP Lit book there is. The characters dont do crazy irrational stuff for the sake of plot, sure she runs away a little, but stuff happens to the characters. Its not all their fault
Thank you very much for your beautiful narration of this book. As a French speaker it was really helpful to listen to your video while reading some passages in vernacular !
I loved this book, I am definitely crying, thanks for carrying my AP Lang grade! and also, I love your voice, you nailed the accents and the southern twang along with the different emotions, it was truly like listening to a movie :)
While I personally did not enjoy this book a lot, since I'm just not super fond of books centering on relationships, as a piece of literature it is very good. The unique prose was hard to get used to but very well done. The subtleties the author was able to weave through the characters and the development each interaction had on Janies character was really good. Overall, I'd say its objectively one of the better books I've read for school, but was not the most enjoyable books for me. While I liked how the author used her various marriages to develop her character, I just didn't find it very enjoyable to read.
It’s so easy to read when I can listen to someone and follow along, like I actually liked the book and won’t be behind or confused when my ap lit class begins in the fall
Your narration of this book was absolutely beautiful! Thank you so much for making this book more interesting than reading it myself. If it wasn’t for your videos, I wouldn’t have been able to read this book at all❤️again thank you so much!!!!
Blessings 🙏🏽💕🙏🏽 this story and the reading was Excellent. I felt every word and visualized every scene. The reader deserves a Grammy Award for her brilliant voice interpretations. Hallelujah awesome🙏🏽💕🙏🏽
The first good book my teacher made us read this year. Edit: Speaking of which, anyone know the name of the song that plays at the beginning and end of the book? It's really pretty.
Seeing this book read by AP lit students is encouraging bc this is my regular English book, I hope it kinda prepares me for my English class next year!
