I put that ground seat on every saddle I make...and I sit in each one to make sure its comfortable and balanced...Thank you for pointed this out...It makes a HUGE diff in how a saddle rides,...
I never even thought of it. DANG, now I’ve got something else I can’t live without!!
In 2007 I bought a JC Martin Wade saddle off the internet. When I got it it was like sitting on a 2x12. Luckily, I worked as a mule wrangler at the Grand Canyon at the time and the resident saddlemaker, Jack Stewart, was able to build up the seat for me, like your suggesting here. Charged me 100 bucks and a bottle of Maker's Mark. It made all the difference in the world. Could ride in that saddle for eight hours a day in rough terrain and stay completely comfortable.
I busted up laughing when you said it was like sitting on a 2 x 12… Ouch
What a blessing you got someone to build it up! Eight hours in a comfy saddle… Can’t beat it
@@GreenvilleTexasRemodels oh my gosh, that is horrible! I know there is JCM Saddle Co in Greenville. So JC Martin Wade is the imposter ?
This helps me understand the hidden anatomy of the saddle better, thank you!
I love your videos
Was wondering the maker mark on that saddle ?
Brotha where ypu buy your hats plis im serius they yes perfect
Good guide for *Red Dead Redemption 2*
I know this is an old video but what brand of saddle is that?
Profile of saddle seat should fit the rider as well as the riders purpose in the saddle, no?
brother vende o cavalo e compra uma sela nova.
What is that attachment you have just below the horn area? And what is it for?
Bucking rolls... they are like swells on a saddle. When the horse bucks you have something to lock you in.
HP Horsemanship they are actually for more than that, they are nice riding steep down hill slopes, to keep you back in the cannel where it’s more comfortable,
Hello mr James what do you think on Mexican saddles
Well thats a matter of opinion.
Your synopsis is kinda flawed. My Ralph Shimon rancher saddle seat is built like that and it is great for a long hour working cowhand rig, it is damn sure not the best for a cutting or performance saddle. The reason cutters and performance horse saddles are flat is so you can move your weight and body position to help the horse and stay on.
Pity you are not specific about the fact you are addressing male humans only. Female pelvises are completely different to male pelvises. Perhaps you will find you have bought a saddle suitable for a female and never actually designed for a male? Food for thought.
@@jonnyp.5809 He said: "..... lot of saddles don't have this...." Perhaps that is why?
@@payntpot7623 oh okay. I didn’t understand. But no, I don’t think so. I think some saddles are just made this way. I’ve got a saddle like this. It’s not quite as steep of a curve but it still has a curve. And i know for a fact it’s meant for a guy. I haven’t ever looked at a females saddle but I would think it’s the same?
I know lots of women who ride in this type of saddle and they wouldn't have anything else.
Thanks for the video, very usefull. But i' m sure your mum would tell you to clean your fingernails before recording next time...
He is a working horse trainer, IF you ride at all you must know that dirty hands and nails are part of the deal. Good dirt, by the way...........
There is a big difference between a male and female pelvis. Most saddles are made for males and i strongly advise any female to look into female saddles (schleese saddlery is very big on the topic). Many riding issues come from the saddle not fitting the horse, but also from not fitting the rider.
