    Would be even better if after each of those launches and landings you paused the video and did a text bullet list of your analysis so I could compare what I saw. Seemed like for the landings many were late flare and or combined with too much brake just before the flair. Several were cross wind and probably most of them also the pilots were watching the ground.
    My own worst landings were due to picking a bad approach line and getting into tree line rotor or low thermal turbulance. I end up struggling and fixating on the ground (which results in getting dumped forward) instead of going around.

    Is on the bad landing, Can you please analyze each one and and say what went wrong ung and what the pilot did wrong Please , thank you

    Is it better to keep one leg in front of the other at landing like the guy in the last landing so you have support in front and also on the back? Because it seems that most drop on the back, their knees bend even if the landing seems soft!

    • @SkySchool
      @SkySchool  Před rokem

      Yes it is. Having one leg in front means you are ready to run upon landing as well if necessary.

    Good Video, lots to learn from.
    It may be even more useful to beginners if you were to describe what each student was doing wrong as they were doing it?
    Probably my inexperience, but I couldn't spot the subtleties of what went wrong on a lot of them, some looked like they just forgot to put their feet down and run, but I'm sure there must have been more than that. Some of the takeoffs looked fine to me also, but they were struggling to get off the ground, again I must be missing something obvious.
    Or could someone summarise in the comments with a list of times and what the issue was?
    Thanks

      Sadly the film would be too long if we were to analyse each take off and landing. However the first take off is very long because the student applies too much break before they have run the wing up to take off speed. During the final take off the student is a bit reluctant to commit to the power and to run, this causes him to sit down when he eventually does. In the first landing (not the one on the face!) the student flares too late. If you look at each video carefully and watch it a few times you should start to see some of the issues highlighted at the beginning. Some are only minor and hard to spot, like the first take off, and others are more obvious.

      @@SkySchool Thanks. I'll have a closer look.

      @@SkySchool Even just a voice-over as they are doing it, or even some words below like 'Great example of pulling too much brake at launch' or "Jumps into seat way too early" or "Could have gotten further out of the seat and straightened their back to land on feet" or "Flared too early and too high, then let off brake. Never move your hands up on brake while landing!!!"
      I think you could have added things like that to the video without making it longer. You cover the types of mistakes at the beginning, then fail to tie each of those examples to each of the videos. Even just a title, "Overbraking" or "Stopped Moving Forward" or "Flared Too Early & Too High" would tie the types of mistakes to their videos.

      @@SkySchool I think just overlaying some text indicating when what error at any given point in time would be useful. Great video content this would just make it unbeatable.

    Nice video! Would have liked to hear or read what they are doing wrong as they are doing it wrong. And what they could have done differently to do it better.

    Do you ever use BGD Wings? I’m a beginner with a wasp 27m and was wondering if you had any input. Thanks for all the great informative video!

    • @SkySchool
      @SkySchool  Před 4 lety

      We do not yet have much experience with BGD wings however the Wasp is a good beginner wing which should be easy to launch and land while having a lot of passive safety. Watch the Landing Top Tips video for some advice on how to land a non reflex wing: czcams.com/video/OxN3vy3OJP8/video.html

    Several of these looked like most of the problem was just not getting their feet under them, they were slow and 'soft' enough.,just not oriented correctly with the 'landing gear' 'spinning', so to speak.
