This was an outstanding video. I'm no longer worried about choosing hx stomp over LT. I want portable, but I want dual amps. I want it all!
Great stuff Jimmy. Glad to hear there’s an update to the expanse pack. Content super helpful as always. 👍🏻
Thanks man!
Instead of doing dual amps you can get a similar feel by doing one amp and a dual cab block. Set the cabs to different 1/12’s and mic’s different to give a different flavor and eq coming off the same amp. Will save some DSP. I. Did the litigator with a 1/12 blue bell with a ribbon 4” off and the Celest 12H with the 421 Dynamic 1” off. Was able to add a comp - triangle fuzz - hair apparent - dual delay - Ganymede and optical trem all three in stereo. Sounds pretty good. Change up the different cabs and mics to fit what ever sound you are going for. Just another tip for people wanting an all-in-one on the stomp.
the litigator is so versatile it almost hurts not knowing it sooner lol
Yes1 That's awesome...I do that often as well! Litigator is amazing as well
I normally run matchstick ch1 and litigator with IR in stereo but wanted to take your challenge and see if I can make an all-in-one. That’s what I came up with. David Hislop just put a vid out yesterday with his all-in-one patches and he did some really cool things I hadn’t thought of doing. But I love your channel bro! Keep it up!
Thank you for putting this video together, I was one of the ones who messaged you. Thank you!
You are so welcome!
Also I love the jazz rivet! And the soup pro sounds great too after you mess with it.
Agreed!
My stomp is pretty much amp modeling only with a full board of pedals. I'm working on wiring it up still, but I'm doing it wet/dry into a dual amp setup in the stomp. So far only really tested that it actually works, but does so using a head and can block each on separate paths.
This is great bro! Thanks!
Thanks!
That Voume/Pan Block for Gain is a great trick, and one I hadn't considered before. I think a Preamp Block can be used that way, but also has more settings available. Very useful tips! Thanks 😎
Thanks man...yeah, preamp is less DSP than an amp, but still more than the Gain block for sure
You beat me to it! I have a couple of Dual amp/cab patches that I've been using for my EP, and even though I use the Simple Delay and Legacy Hall for my wet section, you can't really tell!
that's awesome....will they be available on your site?
@@HeyWorshipLeader Yup! Will be updated in the AIO HX Stomp patch pack!
Man! You saved my life!! I'm about to upgrade from my HD300. This video showed me that I will NOT be able to make the presets I want with an hx stomp, so is not worth the money. I'll have to find my way with a pod go (already better than the HD and save money for the big boys (quad cortex, helix, ax8). Great channel!!
Thanks man...POD Go is great!
The only real dsp limit I’ve hit is with the poly fx, not a big deal as most of those sounds I only use at home. The stomp xl has been a great blessing for me. Stay righteous worship leader, ha ha, that’s a hard spot to fill an ending, well at least we know ours as believers, and followers of Christ.
This is great , your vids are supper handy, please concider to review the new hotone ampero stomp II in vomparison with the hx stomp , efects DSP power ect,
That's a good idea if I can get my hands on one
Thoughts on making this little patch available?
Sojnds fantastic! Could you do a dual amp set up for a Jack White clean tone with the models for his amps (the Silvertone/Twin Reverb) I tried and it sounds like complete A$$
And now I understand what grayed-out patches/effects mean! And why 8 blocks doesn’t always mean 8 blocks. AND why David Hislop chose certain effects over others in his All In presets, e.g., he used Glitz. Thanks!
yep! Thanks
Does it have digital in and out (just checked I think it does have audio over usb)? If so then you have unlimited processing power.
You just sacrifice "non destructive" editing.
record the dry signal. Run it through the pre amp effect signal chain. That can be 100 times the capacity of the HX stomp for all it matters you just have to do it in chunks.
Then bung that through an amp and cab block then rinse and repeat with the post amp effects.
I've been working on the same challenge this week.
Nice!
Consider doing an updated video with one of the amps being the Busy One Ch2 bass amp. It's a fender-y guitar amp that frees up a ton of DSP and has a built in boost and comp
Thanks for the idea
Do a bass preset for your low end homies! I do dig the tones you get. Nice work.
Thanks! Will do!
SVT pro amp, 810 cab. Either an overdrive of your choice or a button to set the amp gain higher for overdrive. A compressor. (I like the LA Studio Comp) EQ if you need it. I've bought presets from several people and most end up being just a variation of SVT pro, 810 cab, overdrive, and compressor.
I kept forwarding waiting for that background music to disappear so I could listen to him talking about beating DSP limits, but I guess I didn't wait long enough.
I have a Helix Floor, but was thinking about building a mini board with an HX stomp and a few older pedals I have(OSD distortion and a RV-6 reverb), but after watching this video decided against it. HX stomp is too limitied.
nicee
Thanks
Any thoughts on using preamps like the Victory v4 The Copper? And then you use an IR or cab and free up a lot of dsp.
I haven't done that yet...but def worth looking into
@dookieeater there's a clip on Leo Gibson's channel where he runs a victory preamp pedal into the hotone ampero ii.
I was quite perturbed that spill over is only available on full helix, I really don't like the sharp cut off between patches, and sometimes that is necessary
I know...that's why I've moved to using snapshots
I ended up getting a Helix LT instead of a stomp. I'm surprised how often I've managed to exceed the dsp limit of one dsp chip. I've even done it with bass guitar.
You can get great tone out of one DSP chip but two is way more flexible. I have the LT also and pack the patches with stuff I might want for certain parts. You can't do that with the Stomp as much.
I have a question regarding headphones. I have the HX stomp and use my Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro @ 250Ohm. When I play a clean tone, it sounds great, but when I go distorted (especially fuzz), it sounds awful. Clipping, static mush. And I know it isn't my settings because it sounds good through my amp. Any thoughts? I need to be able to reliably set up tones for use going DI to FOH at live events
I do not have experience with those headphones but they come highly recommended. I know you said it's not the settings, but I'm wondering if your headphones are allowing you to hear frequencies that get lost through your amp. In a similar instance, a lot of people dial in their reverbs at low volume and hear all the intricacies only for it to get totally lost when they play in a big room or live event. It could be that there actually is some clipping going on. Without actually having my now ears on it, it's hard to say, but if I were you, I'd try to monitor through several different options, (other headphones, in ear monitors, studio monitors) and see if you can spot the problem. The only other thing is that you said it sounds good when running through your amp. How is your preset set up? How are you running to your amp? Because there are several ways to do this. The HX Stomp as you know has amp and cab modeling. So I typically go straight to front of house. If you are going to an amp, you'll need to bypass both the amp and cab blocks. If that's the case, when you listen through headphones with the amp and cab off, it will sound terrible. I may be speaking all around what your actual problem is, but if you want to talk more or send me a video, send it to jimmy@heyworshipleader.com or on IG @heyworshipleader
@@HeyWorshipLeader Appreciate the reply. I e-mailed you. NO rush!
To record this I have to go stereo out instead mono out?
you can sum anything to mono by just coming out of the the L/mono port
is the dsp limit really that bad on the unit? was thinking about getting one not so sure now
No...just a fun experiment
Hey, is there a way to provide subtitles in Portuguese?
I'm not sure about that! I'll have to look into it
