@@LoveleighLoops thanks and plsss keep creating these awesome videos 🥰
Oh that's amazing
this is awesome! thank you! I have one question: what is the name/number of the pink pen you used? again, thanks so much!
Thanks! I'm using the Tombow dual brush pen #703 tombowusa.com/dual-brush-pen-703-pink-rose.html?gclid=Cj0KCQiAus_QBRDgARIsAIRGNGiWXXuyWQgKgpxev78Ynjx0xrAzofcGeBQwXlizZrjxNmDDHavcmdYaAvIXEALw_wcB
Hi! When you pick up the darker colour on the contact paper with the lighter pen, does the colour stay on the lighter pen after you have used it? I don't want to stain/change the colour of my brush pen!:) I have the same question for the first method too, when you drag the colour up/down does it stay on the brush pen or can I just make random marks on scrap paper to get rid of the other colour?:) I understand the for method 2 the colour returns to the original colour but what if I have a shorter word?;)
Yes! Neither method will ruin the pen. These pens (Tombow dual brush pens) are self-cleaning, so all you have to do is draw with them on smooth scrap paper for a little bit to get them back to their normal color. If you're using a really light color like yellow, the tip may appear slightly darker, but it will write in the correct color. Have fun blending! :)
@@LoveleighLoops although this isn't my comment this was very useful
If u have a brush pen that gets smudged easily just wait for some sec until it dries
Hi
Loveleigh Loops Wow It Can Self Clean! That’s Really Cool!
Very good
I didnt use the same markers
But this was soooooooo helpful
I couldnt blend my marker drawings properly
I usually do realistic art that im really quite good at but i wanted to try illustration
Thanx again
Abdul Hadi Moosa you’re welcome, glad it was helpful!
Thank you
Do you know if the 2nd technique you used to blend would work with the Faber Castell Pitt artist pens? Thank you for the great video by the way!
Patricia Ueno I think it’ll work as long as the brush pens are water based
Edit: because Tombows are water based
Thank Ya!
love it
I live this
Thanks for posting: this is really neat. What type paper do you use? I've tried blending on a multi-media paper & did not have good results.
Kathleen Renninger the vertical blend (first method) works better on thicker paper like watercolor, and horizontal can be used on any paper. We recommend using smooth paper so your brush pens don’t get damaged, but vertical blending can be worth it because it looks so cool!
It does indeed look cool! Thank you for answering my question.
Could it be any type of tombows? Even watercolor?
Edit: Nvm I'm getting the ones she used because I really like that colors!
This is pretty neat. Gonna try it. I suppose you can use more nuances of the same colour, like 3 blues or 4 greens to get even more blendy results? (method #1)
Yes, you could use variations of a single color to blend! Let us know how it goes if you try it - have fun :)
I will, I just have to get some coloured pens. Only have black at the moment :o)
finally a good video
I love your work! I am wondering about all of the steps that you take in the first technique (I'm still only that far in the video) My curiosity comes from the fact that I get the same smooth blended effect, (sometime even smoother when using good watercolour paper) using just the blender after feathering the darker tone down.. I honestly don't think it's at all necessary to go back in with the light tone, in fact I think it could be lessening the colourless blender's potential by taking that extra time.. (I noticed that you barely touched with the colourless blender)
Thanks for watching our demo! The reason I didn't use the colorless blender very much is because some people don't have one, and I wanted to show that the blending is possible without it :) Lately, I haven't even been using the colorless blender at all and I still get a nice effect. As always, if you find a way that works easier for you, don't be afraid to do it!
A warning about watercolor paper - be careful using Tombows on paper that is rough (like watercolor paper and cardstock) because it will begin to fray the tip of the pen. I usually stick to smooth 28-32lb paper
thnk u this’s so help me uwu💓!
You're welcome, thanks for watching & commenting!
What’s the best paper to use?
Wow 😍
hello! I was wondering, when I use the colorless blender, it made it neon-ish and light so it kind of acts like a bleach, am I doing this right?
Yeah.. same here, and it really frustrates me
Jazzy helped me learn to blend comics XD
Jazza
HI!! I was wondering if we could use two different colours like different primary colours i.e. (green and yellow) for the first method
Yes, you actually can, but if they're similar, it looks better (my opinion)
Can these techniques be used with cheap brush pens?
I don't use the Tambow so I have no idea what is N00.
Is there any substitute?
I was wondering if you could do these blend methods with other brush pens? (Not that I have any) I was just curious and hope you answer to this:)
Yes! If you have other brush pens that are water-based, blending will also work :)
What kind of paper should a beginner use? Is regular printer paper okay?
We like to use HP Premium 32lb paper or Canson Marker Paper because it's very smooth.
Is there a substitute for the aqua pen? I can use something else for blending?
If you're using thicker paper you could try gently using a damp paintbrush (not too much water or it will bleed everywhere and tear the paper)
she doES It SO FAST
What Gelly Roll pen did you use? I’m looking forward to buying Tombows and I though the use of a gelly roll pen was interesting. I want to try it myself but I do not know the size of the pen, could you please tell me the size of the pen you were using in the video?
The gelly roll is the 08 size tip :) Here's a link to the same one! (Medium) www.markersupply.com/geroclwh.html
i got one from my local stationery store and i think it's a uniball white gel pen and it doesn't cost much💕
What is the white pen being used in this video?
Would it work on bullet journal paper?
Hello! The horizontal method would definitely work!
hello can I also blend with the faber castell calligraphy brush pens?😊
It will depend on which kind! If you're using water-based ink then it will work, but pigmented ink will not blend. Let us know if you try it!
Hello! After watching this video I bought the gelly roll white pens to try this technique but they just soak into the tombows and my crayola super tip backgrounds even when the dark color is dry. I lay down a dark color and let it dry but when Iadd the gelly roll on top it just does not show up... Help!
Hi Katelyn! Sorry it didn't work the first time. My first tip was going to be waiting for it to dry, but I see you've tried that. The problem might be with the paper you are using. If you're using absorbent paper, then the white in will be less opaque versus smoother, less absorbent paper. Think of it like the different between writing on fabric with a sharpie versus writing on plastic -- on the more absorbent paper, the ink soaks in. A higher pound paper (like 32lb hp premium laserjet) would work! Something else you could try is going over the white ink more than once. Let me know if either of those work for you!
okay I will try it on laserjet paper today! I had been using on regular sketchbook paper
What paper do you use? Thanks for the video :D
Lately our favorite for blending is Canson marker paper! But any of the paper in our "Brush Lettering Paper" list on amazon.com/shop/loveleighloops will work :)
What kind of paper do you use to prevent frayed brush pen like tombows?
You can use smooth marker paper or HP Premium 32lb paper.
What I do for the 2nd technique is open both marker caps and hold the darker color over the lighter one for a few moments, letting them touch, so the ink can turn out like a gradient when you write. Of course, the longer you let the markers touch, the more ink will go into the other marker, making the gradient more lifelike. What I do if I want a RAINBOW, is I get a light purple, add blue, green, yellow, orange THEN red, and then I start drawing
I LITERALLY figured out this technique last night.
Litchii Hamza omg that’s brilliant! We will have to try it!
Is the colourless blender will turn into the colour that's being blended?
The color will come out if you keep drawing with it!
Which is the pen that u used at the end for making it look much better ?? Some white pen what’s the name of it
Hi! It's a white gel pen (Sakura Gelly Roll)
Loveleigh Loops thanks a lot❤️❤️
Will the color of the brush pen will be different after blending it with another color? Thanks for the answer, just wondering.
Nope, these brush pens are self cleaning so even if you pick up dark ink, the color will return to itself after drawing some lines with it
thanks for the answer!
What tombow set should i buy i cant deside its too colorful 😣 please help😣😣😣
Hey, can you just use the colourless blender to blend two colours because whenever I do it, it doesn't work at all ☻☻
Can these methods work with any kind of brush markers?
Angel K. These methods work best with water based brush markers!
Caligrafy is so beautiful... TvT
Thank you!
Loveleigh Loops hello! and thanks for the tutorial :)
*Calligraphy*
Lonelymarla this might be the reason you're lonely.... Just saying.
Lol caligrafy😂
Please teach how to write with miniso brush tip pens
Hi. What kind of paper do you usually use?
We like using a smooth paper with low absorbency like Canson marker paper. Here are some other options: www.amazon.com/shop/loveleighloops?listId=TR57FWXSNCBS
I have the pastel pack but it’s so light would it still work
Yep, blending still works for pastel colors! :)
I just wanna ask, what is that white pen you used? Sorry i'm so clueless😅
Hello! It's a Sakura Gelly Roll Gel Pen.
Omg the squeak xD I laughed so hard at it LOL I'm an idiot
What paper surface are you using?
Hi! You can use any smooth copy paper, I think I was using 28lb paper
What type of paper are you using if you dont mind my asking? Im using a daller rowney sketchbook but it keeps causing the paper to tear up.
HP Premium 32lb paper works well for brush pens especially the horizontal blending technique. For the vertical blending, you'll need something a little thicker like watercolor paper or cardstock.
@@LoveleighLoops thank you for the reply and for the information!
Thanks for watching!:)
Is photopaper okay to use in this kind of technique?
If the photopaper is glossy, the water-based ink may not stick to the paper very well. But you could try it out if you have the supplies and see if it works!
What do u call the last white gel thingy pen? What is the brand of it?
Hello! It's a Sakura gelly roll: amzn.to/2ig4Rw8
Omoooo thank youuu💕 anyways I like your vid😊😉
Does it work with other brushpens?
Yes, it works with other water-based brush pens!
Ahh this helped so much lmao
hey! what shade is the pink one?
Hello! I'm using the Tombow dual brush pen #703
tombowusa.com/dual-brush-pen-703-pink-rose.html?gclid=Cj0KCQiAus_QBRDgARIsAIRGNGiWXXuyWQgKgpxev78Ynjx0xrAzofcGeBQwXlizZrjxNmDDHavcmdYaAvIXEALw_wcB
Can you please tell me which paper you have used ?
Anushka Jain we usually use HP Premium 32lb paper with brush pens!
Hi there! What paper do you use if its anything special?
Hello! Just use really smooth paper. Don't use watercolor paper, cardstock, or anything rough. A good choice for smooth paper is 32lb HP Premium paper, or you could get a Rhodia practice pad
Thank You!
What kind of paper did you use? When I tried this method my markers ended up bleeding a lot
We've found that using something less absorbent like Canson Marker Paper helps blend because the ink sits on top of the paper longer before absorbing, making it more easily blendable without bleeding. Hope that helps!
@@LoveleighLoops OHH thank you!!
Where could you get pens like this??
Amazon! Here is the link: www.amazon.com/dp/B00JVB8FBA/_encoding=UTF8?ref=exp_inf_pl_loveleighloops
Hi, I have this weird question, the light color gets to its original shade or it gets damage with the darker color?
Lissette Rocha - the marker may be temporarily stained, but Tombow markers are self-cleaning, so it will be the original color again.
can we use sta another brush pen brand? bcause i dont have tombow
Any water-based brush pen will work! :)
but sta doesnt blend well :(
I have the same markers as uuu
Awesome! You should try this technique :)
Great video! My only critique is that I can barely hear you.Thank you so much for teaching me!!
Sorry about the volume :( glad you were still able to learn a lot!
What paper do you use though?🤔
Maria Amanda AGUIRRE paper
where do you buy tombow pens?
Hello! You can buy them on Amazon: amzn.to/2p5WOrG
What kind of paper do you use?
This is HP Premium 32lb paper (www.amazon.com/dp/B000099O2W/?cv_ct_id=amzn1.idea.3PTH9EJPOZUCH&cv_ct_pg=storefront&cv_ct_wn=aip-storefront&ref=exp_cov_loveleighloops_dp_vv_d). If you're using water for blending, watercolor paper might work better.
you can do this with zig brushables
Zig Brushables are pigment inks so they do not blend as easily as water based pens like the Tombows.
@@LoveleighLoops yay thanks for the answer =)
are tombow brushes good for beginners?
They are great pens but can sometimes beginners find them too flexible and hard to control. We usually recommend the Zig Fudebiyori which you can learn about here: czcams.com/video/DCvsPbVip5M/video.html
What kind of paper did you use?
The vertical blend (first method) works better on thicker paper like watercolor, and horizontal can be used on any paper. We recommend using smooth paper (like this marker paper: www.amazon.com/dp/B00BN9PFRK/?ref=exp_loveleighloops_dp_vv_d) so your brush pens don’t get damaged, but vertical blending can be worth it because it looks so cool!
What paper did u use?
Hi! HP Premium Laserjet 32lb paper which you can order online: amzn.to/2qLlaIs or any paper that is a little thicker than copy paper!
