I love this leitmotif, because it’s not JUST Kirby’s Triumphant Return, it’s also the Halberd interior theme which ALSO has a Kirby’s Triumphant Return leitmotif. We’re reaching levels of leitmotif that shouldn’t even be possible!

THIS fight. To me the final Star Dream battle is the magnum opus, the peak of the entire franchise. The music, gameplay, atmosphere, context, lore, you name it.
a hollow shell of a man who just wanted to see his daughter again, unfortunately he became so corrupted by the very machine he wanted to use to bring her back that, when she ACTUALLY DID find her way back, he didn't even remember he had a daughter in the first place, his memories replaced by selfishness, greed and heartlessness.
and now he's doomed to be fused with the same machine that destroyed his memories and possessed his own SOUL.
and there's only one thing that can stop him...

It's even cooler when you realise that Star Dream's Fatal Error is actually its attempt at granting Haltmann's Original Wish. (Which is a Fatal Error not because it's impossible to bring back a dead person from the dead, but because it's impossible to bring back a dead person from the dead if that person is actually still alive.)

The thing that makes Star Dream Soul O.S. hard is that you're stuck to the Halberd for the fight, no funny methods like Archer or Hammer. Also the fight takes an ungodly amount of time
I did final phase with leaf😅
Phase 2 was pain to me. Hardest part of the True Arena aside from maybe Dedede Clones 2.0 (the D3 section was pretty easy tho). Phase 4 was mostly just stress but I managed to beat it because I expected the final attack.

I can't really explain the drill cutscene but during the fight itself you're apparently miles away from Star Dream but close to the screen so that kinda makes sense.

On another note, Star Dream is still notable as one of most powerful characters and computers ever.
He'd beat GLaDOS with absolute ease, erase Mother Brain from existence with few moves of wings and then ram directly into Ridley's mouth, destroying it in less than a minute. TEC-XX would shut down with whole moon base quite quickly, L-Type Brobot is a joke too (pure hearts would probably join Star Dream's side).
Most other characters are no match for him too. Probably, only other Nintendo character than Kirby that would be able to face him is Samus (wish we'll get space ship fight in Prime 4 btw).
Kirby Characters are probably some of the most broken characters there are in general. Especially Kirb himself

There's one thing in common between this theme and Super Sonic vs Dark Gaia's theme. The style. The situation is so critical but the theme is the definition of hope in that moment.
