  • Hyperion at Energylandia was the first hyper coaster in Poland. This Intamin mega coaster has an incredible layout incorporating elements of both out-and-back and twister coasters. Is this the best Intamin in Europe? Find out in this review!

    Having ridden Hyperion back when it opened and now Kondaa as well, I have to say the latter is superior in pretty much every way. They really fixed all of Hyperion's flaws (roughness, dull middle section, weird queue line) with that one.
    Really a shame they stewed up Hyperion's track during construction though which gave it that rattle!

    That first drop in the back row....
    The moment the train starts to pick up speed and you transition to floater and then to ejector airtime whilst being just on the top (not even descending yet) gave me this "oh crap!" Moment...

    I've had my eye on this one, because Superman the Ride is my favorite Intamin and in my top 5 or 6 overall. Better restraints on Hyperion, but I tend to prefer 2-across seating, sitting low to the track. So I'm not sure if this would top Superman for me, but I hope to find out someday. Hyperion. One of the best hypers ever. Energylandia already has so many good coasters and this in their top 3. It's so unique for a hyper. It's open, feels like Skyrush but not as bad. It has an inversion. Several banked turns. As well as airtime. Tha low to the ground turn is something I really really want to experience as I looks very intense. Also I love that name. @CanobieCoaster  Před 2 lety +3

      My issue with the queues weren't the amount of time I spent in them. I completely understand if a park is busy. My issue was the physical lengths of the queue lines and how there was no way to bypass them if there weren't many people in line.

    I wouldnt account filling in the spaces as "Line Jumping" If you have ever been to PortAventura, you will experience LEGIT line jumping. In my opinion, if you arent smart enough to fill in the spaces available, then unlucky for you and you just arent used to the lifestyle in the EU. Smart people fill in the gaps, they are purposely made like this to avoid feeling cramped in a queue line. Having been to theme parks in florida, i much prefer the spacious queue lines in Energylandia compared to the cattle pens in the states.

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  Před 2 lety +1

      Filling all space sort of defeats a spacious queue in my opinion. I agree Port Aventura had a lot of queue jumping too.

    • @MartyyHD
      @MartyyHD Před 2 lety

      @@CanobieCoaster I still wouldnt account filling in free spaces as "line jumping" its smart people taking advantage of the situation. The amount of times I have been in a cattle pen and some absolute half brain is too glued to their phone to move when there is space ahead is shocking. With these wider queue lines, if someone is not paying attention in the queue line and not moving, then if you decide to fill in the spare void in the queue ahead of them, its really not going to impact when they get on the ride at all and if it does, it is their fault for not paying attention. In PortAventura, as much as i love the park, i got so so so angry at times at people literally climbing over fences and borderline assaulting people to get to their friends ahead of them. Never one in a queue in Energylandia did i experience proper line jumping. Im from Ireland, so i completely understand why Energylandia make the queues so wide...to stop people feeling claustrophobic and to make queuing as comfortable as possibe.
      PS Please do not take this as hate. I LOVE your videos, I personally think you are the best reviewer on CZcams but just coming from the EU myself, and been to Orlando 9 times, give me a spacious queue line where i can take advantage of people not paying attention and i can walk past them without actually feeling like i am queue jumping EVERY DAY over being stuck in a cattle pen and having to borderline argue with the person in front of me to move.
      If you ever plan on coming to Ireland and visiting Tayto Park (they are getting a vekoma suspended thrill coaster next year and one of the best woodies on the planet in the Chu Chulainn Coaster (pronounced Koo Cullin after an irish mythical legend) I would love to meet up and teach you the culture.

    And what exactly do the turnstiles accomplish?

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  Před 2 lety +1

      Hyperion's queue line does save space by going vertical, but the lack of a cut-through is frustrating. Zadra's is puzzling.
      The turnstiles are designed to make sure every seat is filled. It does a good job of that. The downside is that groups can get split up and you aren't guaranteed the seat you want.

    Europe as a whole doesn't have yhe same view or respect on lines as we do in the US. It's European custom to just fill all empty space regardless who you're technically behind. Places like Poland, Germany, Belgium etc are much worse too than the bigger tourist draws like in the UK, France or Italy. Asia is much like EU too. So I think we are in the minority

      I didn't encounter lines like the ones at Energylandia at any other parks in Europe, including the nearby Legendia.

    Once I got really good airtime on this mid hill or front row. I guess it depends on daytime and rides because sometimes in mornings it’s just forceless.

    Unfortunately I have to say that Hyperion simply has too much discomfort for me. The older I get, the more I dislike heavy ejector "airtime" - which does not feel like airtime for me, because I just get slammed against the restraints. The more weight you have, the more you get slammed against the restraints (yeah, physics). So overall, the ride has a fantastic first drop, then starts to beat me and rattle me to death.
    I absolutely prefer the B&M hypercoasters with their majestic floater airtime hills. And for me the best Intamin coasters in Europe are still Expedition G-Force and, yes really, Juvelen (didn't ride Kondaa so far though).

    This ride was just a letdown after the incredible showing that Vekoma made (I liked the Vekoma layout better than every single version of the Intamin layout), then the layout just got worse, I consider this layout to be the worst one as it got rid of the twister section, that while inferior to the Vekoma one (the one on the Vekoma layout was a thing of beauty), looked decent, but instead its garbage compared to the other concepts shown.
    Honestly this ride and the path that Intamin has gone down with imitation and Golden Horse level ripoffs, on top of their inital layout being outclassed by the Vekoma have resulted in me placing Vekoma above them in terms of companies, also Hargid's can just be demolished, Dragon Challenge deserved better.
