"God, Allow Me (Please) to Play Music".
This single came after the personnel consisting of three veiled women experienced a bit of intolerance in the environment. Criticism and stigma came and went from all directions and almost made them want to give up on the music scene in 2016.
"The more we try to avoid criticism, distanced himself, it became even more vicious, it provoked us to fight even more outspokenly," VoB vocalist and guitarist Firdda "Marsya" Kurnia said in an official statement.
"We want people listening to this song to be more tolerant of other people.
God does not belong to just one person or a group of people," said Marsya.
"So, everyone has the right to creation, and the responsibility for their creation is given by God," Marsya continued.

They seem to embody the spirit of "three chords and the truth," don't they? I love how making plugging in your SG and making noise is the same everywhere! According to Wikipedia the translation of their name is Voice of Noise.
Indonesia is about 85% Islamic and so there is pressure on them as women as well as for western "rock music." But Indonesia is an extremely varied country - 17,000 islands stretching all the way from west of Malaysia (south of Thailand) to Western New Guinea (north of eastern Australia). There are lots of ethnic groups, lots of languages ... look it up on Wikipedia or your favorite encyclopedia. It's a very interesting place.
