- Great Version!!!
Bob Dylan 30th Anniv of 1st album, 1992
Crimson flames tied through my ears
Rollin' high and mighty traps
Pounced with fire on flaming roads
Using ideas as my maps
"We'll meet on edges, soon", said I
Proud 'neath heated brow
But I was so much older then
I'm younger than that now
Half-wracked prejudice leaped forth
"Rip down all hate", I screamed
Lies that life is black and white
Spoke from my skull, I dreamed
Romantic facts of musketeers
Foundationed deep, somehow
But I was so much older then
I'm younger than that now
Girls faces formed the forward path
From phony jealousy
To memorizing politics
Of ancient history
Flung down by corpse evangelists
Unthought of though, somehow
But I was so much older then
I'm younger than that now
A self-ordained professors tongue
Too serious to fool
Spouted out that liberty
Is just equality in school
"Equality", I spoke the word
As if a wedding vow
But I was so much older then
I'm younger than that now
In a soldiers stance, I aimed my hand
At the mongrel dogs who teach
Fearing not I'd become my enemy
In the instant that I preach
My existence led by confusion boats
Mutiny from stern to bow
But I was so much older then
I'm younger than that now
Yes, my guard stood hard when abstract threats
Too noble to neglect
Deceived me into thinking
I had something to protect
Good and bad, I define these terms
Quite clear no doubt, somehow
But I was so much older then
I'm younger than that now - Hudba
I watch this and it makes me want to cry. No more George or Tom, and hearing this song almost 60 years after it was released -- the memories, the losses, we've all gotten so old. Bob's lyrics -- brilliant as always.
God bless Neil, Bob and Eric ❤
❤ ❤ I'm 69 and crying. Brilliant
Хочется плакать и радоваться ,что они были среди нас ,очень жаль так рано ушли,Дилону здоровья
AMAZING!!
indeed !! i feel the same
A Byrd, a Beatle, a Buffalo, a Heartbreaker, a Yardbird, and a Tambourine man. Now that’s what I call a line up.
This makes me cry, isn't that the truth!
Who the guy in the green suit?
@@celiahans-pu3sh That's G.E. Smith. He played in the SNL band for a long time (80s, 90s) and was one of the guitarists Hall and Oates used when they were big. He's quite the player,, but takes a backseat in this one to enjoy the show.
@@indiecomicsjones Knew G.E. back in his Scratch Band days in New England, went on to SNL (short time married to Gilda), toured with Dylan and got to see him again touring a tour that came through Santa Barbara...miss those "Glory Days" of my youth.
@@celiahans-pu3sh Read that he was the musical director for this. You also have Booker T and the MG's and Jim Keltner. The sum of all the parts on this one is incredible.
I miss Harrison and Petty!
I’m 74 years now and bye grace for the love of music
just keep going.
Thank you for the post, Thank you Dylan for the amazing music treasure ❤☮️✌️
We had the best time... Now we get older and older... I feel young, when I hear songs like this! (71 years old )😉
I miss them so much, and what gets me the most is slow hands solo. I tear up every time
Absolutely....😢
68 love all kinds of music this was a unique moment in time don't think people know what real music is .... being a friendly curmudeon here.🎶🎶
I'm 41 and this song gives me goosebumps woooow amazing artists EVERY1 of the them
I know that every generation thinks that their music is better than the present, but just really, when was it ever better than this? All those legends on one stage playing one of the best songs ever written. I saw this comment here once: "It's worth being old now to have been young then."
Из другой страны и мне 56 ,но мы любим всех ДЖ ХАРИССОНА,ТОМА ПИТТА🙏❤❤❤Бобу Дилону здоровья ❤❤❤❤
I'd forgotten how great McGuinn was.
Saw him perform twice this month. He opens every show with this song and that 12 string bell-ringin' Ric slung over his shoulder. And this performance was of his arrangement. Great is an understatement.
One can see in this vid the embodiment of George's classic saying: "I never wanted to be famous, I wanted to be successful". RIP Tom and George, grateful I had the chance to see Tom live in 1987.
I agree with you 💯the best of the best. Still Miss George and Tom but glad to have seen Bob and Tom back in the days when life was so much better ☮️
Every time I watch this, I am younger than that now. I was there in '92. Best guitarists ever.
There in 1992? LUCKY YOU!
Thank You God for letting me grow up when I did, such talent that just isn't around anymore...
So sorry for the infringe on your privacy. Beautiful song How are you?
I count myself very lucky indeed to be born in '48 and bear witness to the greatest music of my life. Let's not forget the great music began in '56 with Presley, Berry, Holly etc. I agree with Keith Richards: before 'Elvis' nothing! I remember the 'yellow rose of Texas'' 'How much is that doggy in the window' and others before Elvis.
Amen...those were very hard times, 1960 - 1975, we were all put to the test.
We rose to the challenge. Stood our grounds and held our mud. We were fortunate to have survived.
Looking back at those paths that led us here and for all those who did not make it...
I, consider it an Honor and a Privilige to have crossed the finish line...
They’re like buddies we went through war with.
INDEED!!!!+
We'll never again see so much amazing talent on one stage playing together on such an iconic song.
1:40 great group of musicians the BEST.❤love Mr Dylan
Neil Young and Eric Clapton wailing on their guitars. Not much better
❤
Your so right.
@@annlaplante4425 Neal Young es el de cuadros verdad?
I’m 71 now and I’m so glad and grateful that this music and these musicians was an integral part of my youth!
Só am I!!!
you took the words right out of my mouth Ron, for i too am a Ron, i am 61 and i thank God for all these gr8 artists who shared their gift with us, we are so fortunate to have grown up in such times.
Same here, and I’m 66. Esp Bob Dylan & Neil Young ❤️
beautifully put....me too
We grew up in the best of all times, bro.
So much fun watching G.E. Smith direct traffic! Clapton solo is iconic. Had NO IDEA Neil Young could play like that!
I want a Rickenbacker like Roger's!
There is no way on earth these guys will ever be replaced by the crap music we are having to put up with these days. Every one of them a total hero to music.
Unfortunately we'll never see the amazing likes of these amazing musicians again
I miss George
seen this a dozen times and I'm weeping still :-( George and Tom RIP
As I approach 75 yrs, listening to these superstars, I do feel younger than that now. I am happy that I experienced this music during my teens and watching and listening to it now makes my heart young again.
Join the clan it doesn't get much better than the real music years of the '60s & '70s
I'm with you Brother, I just turned 75 and still love this music! We got to experience the best music ever in our lifetime!
Couldn't agree more
like me 74 on thanksgiving day 😏😏😏
Testify Bro testify.
Truly “my generation “ George was so underrated and we are smaller without him John, Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker Tom and all the wonderful wonderful musicians 😢😢😢😢 this video should be shown to all these terrible contrived so called talent shows
These guys will forever be brothers. In this world and in heaven where they will be greeted by many more
Neil plays that passion Guitar, always so moving. Love it!
Love him!
Have seen this dozens of times and it never fails to amaze. Among other things, the sheer joy on Neil Young’s face always makes me smile. One of the best music videos and concerts ever.
a felicidade dele é nítida. imagina a festa, que é para esses caras de alto nível, tocarem com seus iguais.
😅
I have no idea how many times I have watched this video. Once a day some days and several times a day some days. Never ceases to amaze me how good it sounds and ALWAYS makes me feel better each and every time. Can't decide who sounds the best. They all sound perfect every time. They are the best of the best. Could listen to them all day and night. Best thing of all is they are ALL enjoying themselves. Kudos Gentlemen !!❤😊🎉❤😊
A constellation of muscians never to be repeated.
I'm old now but I thank the universe that I lived through these great years.
Those from WWII are from the “greatest generation”….but these guys are from the greatest generation of rockers. Never to be seen again.
This makes me cry from nostalgia. They are from my generation... and still some of the greatest music of all time. What a lineup!
Mine too x
Wow... this is the most amazing work of musical art.... known to man... what's that guy's name who's directing operations... WOW. ...he made it work... call me..... BRILLIANT xx
Yep..... I agree blondy.., Brilliant...xx
Perfect Christine 😀
E.G. Smith directing.
In this video, Young smiles the biggest, happiest smile I've ever seen him show. So beautiful!!!!!!❤😊❤
Rock Royalty. Now that's what I call a band. I'm 72 & still rocking (& stumbling).
Even among giants, Harrison stands awfully tall.
I’ve watched this a hundred times and every time I get goose bumps. So much talent on one stage, amazing.
Beautiful music 🎶
I do too
I feel the same way!
Yes!! Me too❤
I love everything Bob has done. I will be 70 next month Feb 5, 2024. I have been listening to him since 1962. He will always be my favorite artist of all time.
Born in 1947, my Heritage! Eve of Destruction, my Senior Trip! Vietnam Veteran! This brings tears to my eyes!
The greatest of the great
Missing Jeff Lynne.
This is real music, this is real art. A simply exceptional performance.
Tom Petty and Neil Young sharing a microphone. Warms my heart so much.
✨🎸♥️🎸✨
this is priceless ,legends of rock Clapton a Beatle GH Dylan Neil Young Tom Petty you wont see this ever again
I want played for my Funeral. I get goose bumps and tears of joy listening to this. Time went so fast and here we are. Closer to death than life. Love it
Good one to go out on....
Closer to the real life, brothers and sisters.
I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve watched this vid. It’s got to one of the greatest line ups ever. I grew old with these guys, all heroes and reminds me of how life used to be. Fantastic !! P.S. that’s why Dylan is simply amazing. What a song !
Yup
Me too
The same experience here!
That's it in a nutshell...cudn't have said it better. I too have watched it countless times. Bob doesn't try to take the Limelight, he's so humble!
Inspiring message … nice
Can’t stop listening to this wonderful embodiment of what REAL music sounds like…WTF WOULD WE HAVE DONE WITHOUT BOB DYLAN IN OUR LIVES…
You have no idea what kind of pleasure it is for a newly born Bob Dylan fan, to find his favourite song performed by those giants of rock, simply amazing!
The gods of the late 1960's and 1970's it don't get any better than this folks for us who lived through it ❤👍👍👏👏👏
Neil Young I mean everyone in this lineup, so freakin awesome. The emotion that Neil sings with is heart wrenching, almost brought tears to a 64 year old man's eyes.
your younger then that now!
Neil is a special kind of guy who can love ya if you are a true friend there’s nothing he wouldn’t do for ya if you had the same love for him and that’s who Neil is
He sure is a special guy and, a brilliant guitarist.
I agree! Mr Youngs joy and presence is fantastic!
Neil called the concert "Bobfest." I have the concert on DVD, and Neil's rendition of "All Along the Watchtower," is less a performance than a voodoo ritual trying to resurrect Jimi Hendrix; and comes damn close to it.
Doesn't get better. Dylan's early songs never fade in their glory and depth.
His early songs fit the times of that era. His later songs are brilliant too, but there are no talented people to cover them.
He made music that others could cover, too. How about this one! czcams.com/video/EsIaVWXNLVo/video.htmlsi=kPlwGLV9oWwdFrsS
We are so blessed to be living in Bob’s time. There are many great legends but none surpass Bob
Es ist für mich eine Mymne, die von hervorragenden Musikern vorgetragen wird ... einfach unvergesslich !
Alles ist perfekt !
Einfach himmlisch ...
Those solos were excellent. I particularly liked Neil's guitar solo that went so directly to the melody and its connection to whenever it's played as well as where it came from. And all of these guys and many others are lucky to have come up then, as we continue now. Bob Dylan & Friends. "My Back Pages".
Dylan is still standing ❤
This is a real treat for us old timers, remembering all those years of music and dancing through life! Still dancing, just in smaller spots 🎉❤❤❤❤😊
George's voice soars! 🤗
Agree, but I think they all sang brilliantly. I just love this song and the line up was just breathtaking
OMG, thank you for putting this up lest we forget. Amazed that I could remember each word. Dylan deserved that Nobel Prize and more. To think that he was in his 20s when he wrote this. Wow.
Not just a tribute to Bob but a huge beautiful tribute to all these beautiful talented men who all gave so much in their unique ways to music.
Beautifully put.
100 200 oder wie oft habe ich es gehört. Mit einem weinenden und einen lachenden Auge. Was wäre ich gerne dabei gewesen. Nie wieder gab es so was. Viele sind schon gegangen. Ihre Musik bleibt. Ich schlucke muss aufhören zu schreiben. Tränen laufen mir von den Wangen. Ist das gut. Danke 🇩🇪❗
TOm's little smile following Neil's guitar solo...
I wouldn't give up my memories for all the tea in San Francisco 💜
I don't know how to find the right words for this. I am 64 and I grew up idolizing the Beatles, The Byrds, Bod Dylan, Clapton, Neil Young...you get the picture. I have lost people I have loved dearly in this life.
Don’t forget Duane, brother.
May you knock on heavens door my freind
I lost them before I was born.....I'm 17 now.....feel like I'm in the wrong generation.
Sorry for your loss.
Nice comment. Thanks
i feel sorry for the young of today never having heard fantastic music from an incredible lineup like this !
they here it but didnt grow up with it
ive used my daughters car and there is classic rock stations like Q1`07 on her Tuner
Huh? This generation can hear it anytime on demand right here.
@@VideoAmericanStylejust not the same as live and at the time of the release I guess
The group of musicians were so so together. It was so nice to see them all together. Unbelievable. Amazing loved each one of them. It was gracious of Bob to let George sing last. Very nice. Love the song and listen to it everyday. He is Iconic.love that guy so . Way to go Bob.Love ya.♥️
Great music, I'm 68 and love this line-up...I agree with @carsonshane4102!!!!
S lucky to have lived in an era with the greates musians on the planet.
What a great song, when the last two singers came on Bob and George I felt like I went to Heaven
In hundred years this performance will still be around and listened to. My god. It's so beautiful and so brilliant.
I believe that 🎼🎶
Bob dylan rote it
❣👍👏🔺️💙🤝❗
Love from Hamburg, Germany!
Cheers to that
To me Bob Dylan will always be the Greatest Poet Ever.
I’m running out BOB I’m getting old just like you my brother I’ve lived me life with you Absolutely fantastic love 💕
Todays kids can listen and maybe even say they identify with the music, but… we were there. Those flashes of memory of brief instances… can’t replace our experiences. We were there we lived through it. In the twilight talking with the girls next door, looking looking up at the moon and wondering if I squinted hard enough I could see Aldren, Collins, and Armstrong. Read about it all you want. Watch the videos but you really just had to be there. I was alive for it and lived through it. Can’t replace that and I wouldn’t if I could.
Well said Maxwell
I'm such a big fan of all these great musicians. To see them all on the same stage performing a great song is truly amazing. Thank you and RIP George you're so missed.
I agree, and Tom Petty is missed as well
I love how George Harrison just stands off to the side and comes in at the end.....just like him
This is the best ever and Dylan looks so proud to have these legends around him singing his song.
@@evelyngallagher5893 Jim Keltner on the drums????
Hello Evelyn Gallagher and I almost pocket called you
apparently George hated what Neil Young was doing on this one, lol.
@@opartyep. His guitar playing on this song.
This is the Shawshank or Good Fellas of music. Anytime I see it, I stay and watch.
Unbelievably the best of the best. Thankyou, all Love this music forever✌️♥️🇨🇦
Life was so much better when George was alive.
😍😍
I miss George and Tom and I'm sure Roy and John would've there somehow. And where was Joni and Gordon?
And Tom too
Amen.
Very true Phil
They're having a great time. All my childhood music right there...mostly influenced by my late big bro. Dylan first, then The Lads, The Byrds, etc. Makes me cry watching it. Every time.
Trust me any1 thinking about skipping dont please i beg you the whole 4 mins plus is something ive never experienced i just wish i see this live im only 40 years old but wow
Beautiful Song that self explanatory just as life goes. Masters Of Music 🎶 my beautiful brothers I hope they all have a blessed life here on earth and heaven God bless the traveling Wilburys God bless all of them and then
Lest we overlook it, but this is McGuinn's brilliant arrangement of this great Dylan song. He totally transformed it.
The Byrds certainly gave new life to Dylan songs, I love their jangly sound !
Absolutely! xo
And recent tours, he performs Hendrix's arrangement of All Along the Watchtower. It's awesome when great, successful song writers don't let their egos get in the way.
Hes always done that.
I think, for myself, that McGuinn made it better than Dylan himself.
Simply stunning, even today!
Think I was about 12when I first heard this song ! Anyway it triggers many thoughts it’s about 52 years and counting I was so much younger then indeed Dylan & a couple of Canadians Neil & Joni make life bareable
Lo estoy viendo en 2023 y cada vez me gusta mas❤❤
Oh my gosh how badly music SUCKS now! These guys are amazing♥️
This is the best of the best, the '60s & '70s produced the best performers & music this earth will ever see. I'm also in my 70s & grew up on this music & have performed many of them live on stage & wish I could do it all again. IT DOES NOT GET ANY BETTER
" To MEMORIZING Politics of ANCIENT History--Flung down by CORPSE Evangelist.." 👍 ✌ The TRUTH
After Clapton's solo he motions to Bob Dylan to go... that is class. No ego that i want to sing. These are the cream of the crop.
Even today, no matter what anybody say, this is the best and can’t get any better than this. Long live Bob, Neil, Eric and Roger. Did I leave anyone? RIP George and Tom!
George and Tom may not be here physically, but through their music they will live forever, as will the other greats from the years of our youth.
@@NVRick1 answering your comment now in November 2022...totally agree, how lucky to have grown old with the music from the sixties and on
That smile on Neil Young’s face after that crazy solo says it all!
Yes he was an exuberantly happy man that day which is not how we think of him!
Yeah, he delivered and he knew it. It wouldn't surprise me if he was nervous the whole time.
@@evelynbaron2004 Yes he was! Check out his song "Comes a Time" farm aid 1986. He's the happiest I've ever seen him there!😊
He's joyous on that stage! Because of that, he stole the show for me!
Comes a time, i have that album on vinyl@@jaya.0069
The swell feeling McGuinn must've felt sharing a mic with Dylan himself.
Just got home from a funeral. Lot of people there. The kids were using canes, Jeff just had both hips replaced. Most of the kids… I just didn’t recognize. So many years… so much water under that bridge…. I just had to listen to this song when I got home. It was all like yesterday.
George is so quietly amazing he doesn’t try to upstage anyone he just stands back then takes his turn singing with the presence of a god
Presence of
GOD
Yes a god
George Harrison is sorely missed. Hope there's a Heaven.
He was truly wonderful.
So much talent on one stage… absolutely breathtaking.
What's really breathtaking is the absence of any ego.
Seriously im 41 years old and hand on heart i have never heard a tune like woooooow gives me goosebumps
Anyone listening/watching this in 2020?
And if not, why not?
Nope, 2021. Sorry ;-)
Oh yeah, still watching and loving.. Whatever the year is.
The best.

Never a big music junkie but love folk rock, csny, the Byrds, Beatles, Eagles. Clapton is great and should've been front and center more. What a great song and performance!!
Neil has a very cool guitar! !!!😄😄😄🎸🎸🎸🎸🍺🍺🍺🍺
The talent on this video is unsurmountable! We "kids" of the 60's had the best,,,the very best of incredibly talented musicians
Does this song bring tears to anyone else's eyes?
Contrary to tradition, I have grown more liberal as I have aged! I think that is what this song means to me.
This caliber of writers and musicians on this stage you will never see again gathered together to bring you a once in a life time event. How nice to have witness this happen in person would surely be a gift from God. God bless them who are still with us,and God bless them who are not. Peace to all of you who love this music.
Who is the guy in the green suit?
Thank you. I know I am a better man for having listened to Dylan's music.
I could not agree more.
Unbelievable to witness this.
Thanouren you Kevin. May peace follow you.
The guy in the green suit is G.E. Smith. He was the leader of the Saturday Night Live band a few years back
Simply magical
So much talent on one given stage at once.
I am very please to be a part of that movement and to have hung out and performed with many of them. I'm going to be 73 on June 22nd. I am now so much older, I'm younger than that now.

As an aging millennial, I was so much older then, than I am right now. Ha, what life throws at you really does change how you & how you view the world. Thanks to all the great talents for this performance. Some of them are truly, deeply missed, the others, still living legends.
