Correction. This is not the band's first demo. The first demo was "Gotham City/Killer Angels" in 1981, which they re-recorded for the single which was also released in 1982. This demo is not from 1981, but was recorded in 1982 AFTER the single. It will be officially released on Cult Metal Classics with all the info straight from the band, including rare/unpublished photos and lots of info!
spitfire by itself makes me feel warm. the whole atmosphere of this recording is unmatched by any others, plus songwriting is outstanding with moody vocals.
Back when everyone believed total nuclear devastation would lay waste the globe by 1995. Black Writs had that early Iron Maiden vibe. The Big Man is Here Tonight To Bring You Fire Fire ? That is what I always interpreted the lyrics to say . That can't be right
Perish! Listen to the Warrior of Evil Reading from the book he knows will … into hell …victims tell you how Black man is he tonight Bring you fire! Fire! On your feet, on your knees Behold your overlord Gazing evil eyes Sinners! Expect no mercy Watch the bloody sword To die Black man is he tonight Bring you fire! Fire!
@@godetonter4764 Crappy English is part of the charm of Swedish old school heavy metal. My favourite example is still the classic line "Do you gonna realize" from Mindless Sinner - Tears of Pain.
The reverb on the vocals in 1995 is going crazy. It's not supposed to be like that. What happened? Edit: Maybe something with my system, it's the same on other uploads.
Anders Zackrisson, who also appeared with Nocturnal Rites on In a Time of Blood and Fire (95), Tales of Mystery and Imagination (97), and The Sacred Talisman (99)... for sure was a better improvement to Gotham City when he sang with them IMO

I think it's supposed to be black writs like the other album...

Batman metal band 💪
Must of been hardcore Batman fans. This demo sounds a bit slower than the EP. Where can I find a copy ?
Nice but the singer is atrocious. :) They had one of swedens best singer on their full album at least.

@@KevinOrtega1980 Yeah, I do not listen to Nocturnal Rites after he left.
