  • Peugeot has just launched a facelift for its popular Peugeot 208 hatchback. The 2015 Peugeot 208 features a wider grill, new LED lights, unusual textured paint, and engine revisions. We review the 1.2 litre three cylinder engine with 82BHP and a claimed 62.8 MPG to find out if these changes brings this stylish little car back to the frontline.
    Car Tested: 2015 Peugeot 208 1.2 82 Allure.

    Came back to watch this review which helped me decide to buy one new just over two years ago. I’m checking out whether to keep my 208 or go back to something larger like the 3008 (this is just our weekend car). The only thing I find difficult with the 208 is, being a “well muscled man”, it’s always been a bit of job to get in and out of. It’s very low for a bigger frame and I always hit my head on the way in and out. But the wife (who’s tiny) loves it and it is a brilliant little car with an awesome drive and performance. I have no criticism owning this little beauty. We went for the 2 door in white, very cute. Thanks again for this review, it’s the best out there and sealed the deal for me. Excellent review, everything you commented on was spot on.

    Great review I am torn between the 208 Gt line or Mazda2 sport-nav
    what would you choose?

      +Ray Hunt Depends what you value. Keener driving experience go for the Mazda, everyday all-rounder 208.

    God seriously the same old predictable 'ford' being the engaging beast that it is.. do these reviewers actually drive 'other' cars ? if so then then THEY wouldn't hold the 'god like' ford in such high estimation. I came here to see a review of a 208 and yet the reviewer WHO I may add was great up until that point, he couldnt resist the temptation to plug the 'ford' car for drive ability just because its the fashionable thing to do nowadays. I reckon Ford could build a skip and still these 'reviewers' would say it handles and drives better than any other car out there ! shame but true.

    • @insidelane
      @insidelane  Před 7 lety +1

      +Wayne Evans The fact is that we road test all the competition. The Fiesta is still the benchmark for handling, not subjective, it's a fact. It performs better dynamically. Nothing to do with it being fashionable.

    • @wayevs
      @wayevs Před 7 lety +1

      I understand that you road test all other competition but you all seem to only mention 'ONE' memebr of that competion and its not just you!.
      Okay the ford may handle better than this 208 but what about the clio, ibiza, polo, A1 , i20, mazda2?? are you saying the ford is better than all these too ?? come on really?? its just fashionable to mention the ford for drive ability come on admit it...

    • @insidelane
      @insidelane  Před 7 lety +1

      +Wayne Evans It is the best handling in its class full stop. Worth mentioning and handling in these little cars is higher on the agenda than other classes.

    • @wayevs
      @wayevs Před 7 lety +3

      DISAGREE.. if you are talking about a hot hatch then yeah i agree that handling comes into it, but for a average hatchback I am sure most people would be more settled with a comfortable car than something that pretends to be a sports car. If you want that then you could get a celica which is far more capable than the ford, sorry pal your argument doesn't hold up .

    • @insidelane
      @insidelane  Před 7 lety +2

      +Wayne Evans Pretty sure it is my job to know the market. The agility of a small car is an important factor as, particularly in an urban environment, it makes a big difference. The Fiesta is the number 1 seller in this class and to mention it when talking about competitors is only correct. You make quite a few assumptions based upon no evidence at all, just your opinion. The Fiesta is mentioned in passing but here you are trying to make some sweeping statement about how invalid it is to do so. You are entitled to think what you like, but us professional motoring journalists know what we are talking about. It's in the review because people will ask, not because it is fashionable. End of story.

    I have a 62 plate and I like it but I don't love it. The style is nice but after having it for just over one year, I'd rather have something else. £40 petrol every 5 to 6 weeks is nice, better than my 207. The main thing I really dislike is the hardness of the ride, the centre console that operates the radio and sat nav will go crazy in winter because of the cold temperature, the screen goes stupid. For some reason the passenger seat belt, the part you clip in, seems to of turned, so when its just you driving it keeps knocking and once you hear it you won't be able to stop hearing it. Now that I think about it, it seems like there's more negative than positive to this car. I know people say, don't take cars to main dealers for repairs or mot's but I did and for my first MOT they quoted me and I'm not lying £1000 for all the advisories. I read someone else's message and they said the indicators are on the wrong side, well iv been driving for 22 years and iv found all but one car with indicators that are on the left stork, which this car has. The media station does my head in because if you want to listen to a cd you can't because it's all Bluetooth, I work 10 minutes from home and by the time my phone has connection I would be half way home. Hands free is stupid because if all my contacts are on the sim card it won't read them, it only reads contacts on your phone and not the sim card. This is the first 3 door that iv ever had and it can be a nightmare getting out of it when parked next to another car. Tax is only £20 a year so that's good, where my 207 was £140 a year. These 208s come with a spare tyre unlike the 207s which had a repair kit. No movable windows in the back, electric mirrors that fold in when you lock the doors. This might be just me but when I reverse out of my drive and then put it into first gear and pull off, the gear sometimes slips back into neutral. The blue paint shows the chips very clearly on the bonnet. Adjustable steering and seating heights, heated seats.

      Tommy Gunn Hi, I know this is a very late reply. But when you say you spent £40 every 5 to 6 weeks, do you remember how far you were driving in that time?

    They put the indicator lever on the wrong side of the steering column. Other than that, besides it wont get our of its own way & its a cheap car. Its good for a weekend rental
