You can tell Insomniac is testing the waters with this gimmick, trying to gauge how people react to having other Superheroes roaming the city that we can run into.
It's actually really cool that Harry as Agent Venom was actually pretty chill other than being a bit brash and inexperienced. The symbiote isn't like inherently evil in the sense that it creates problems out of nothing, it rather just makes existing ones way worse and when its host is generally a pretty unproblematic person, it sort of takes that guise on itself. It tries to help its host, it has no ends or desires of its own other than picking a host that it "likes" or chooses. It's like the world's worst wingman that's still trying.
Interesting theory, but you forget that Connor’s wiped the symbiote’s memory which was why it was still calm with Harry and nonviolent. It had no recollection of its purpose and goals but once the symbiote grabbed the meteor and remembered his purpose was when he was full on corrupting Peter to the core
@@sakaiclips so pretty much the entire third act happens because Connors fucked up and showed Peter the meteorite? That's kinda dumb, specially because Peter was already acting angry and relentless before, but him coming into contact with the suit really activated the suit.

Touching the meteor just made it worse, but Peter had been detereorating for a while and the symbiote really got upset when Connors said it should be destroyed, first time Peter referred to himself as "us". Its purpose wasn't inherently spreading itself, it made that goal after taking over Harry, to "heal the world", the symbiote genuinely thinks it's healing people when it makes them part of the hive and its doing it in a twisted attempt to help its host, Harry. Venom is not manipulative in that sense, the way he speaks throughout the final act of the game is as if its Harry. Either the symbiote is an expert gaslighter and master manipulator, or it's actually earnestly trying to help Harry in its own messed up way. I like the latter explanation much better. It makes it a dark reflection of Spider-Man and is the most reasonable explanation for why it would ever become the "Lethal Protector".
Actually I think the suit was pretty evil to begin with. I mean just look at what it did to Harry. I get that Harry was sick and he didn’t wanna die but he was acting extremely unreasonable when Peter was trying to tell him that the suit would destroy his mind. For crying out loud Harry ignored peters drastic character change in The lizard chapter(in other words he didn’t think “oh wow this suit might be a bad idea”). What I’m saying is that Harry was addicted to the suit(The alien had a hold on his mind already). Plus don’t forget it tried to bond with Peter after they rescued tombstone. I don’t think the suit had amnesia but it is painfully obvious the rock made it stronger.
@@The_Story_Of_Us This has always been my favorite interpretation of the symbiote when it first shows up, it trying in a genuine way to help but just seriously misunderstanding humans and what they want/need before gradually getting a better understanding of us through its' hosts. It is an alien after all, makes sense it would initially have extremely different perspectives than human beings do.

@@zaster101 I think according to the in-game explanation the anti venom thing is a part of him now, not a symbiote which switches it's bodies. It's infused with Peter's blood and Martin's light side I think. Probably why Spiderman didn't do it right away. This anti venom kind of seems it's new thing compared to the comics so I don't expect it to take the beast form either like in the comics. Unfortunately I think Harry might get the G serum because of Norman. It has happened in the comics multiple times where he is goblin II, it happened in spider-man 3 as well. Hopefully he turns out better than his father. This way if a remnant of the symbiote somehow survives like it did in Peter's bloodstream it could find another host(Eddie?), thus we would get a heroic Harry and a villanous venom both at the same time. The new pretty hated spider man animated show did it already with harry as hobgoblin teaming up with spider-man but insomniac can probably do the idea right way this time.
If things turned out well for everyone, they'll be a lot of vigilante in New York besides Spider-Men. Tinkerer, Agent Venom... They would make a hell of a team along with Miles and Peter.

Honestly I do think that unlike some versions of venom, the Symbiote had malicious intent from the get go. I think eventually, if Spider-Man had kept it, it would have convinced him somehow that they needed the asteroid piece to save Harry or somethin
It's probably more so that all symbiotes have a connection to Knull and are compulsed to further his reach so they'll twist their hosts goals to align with Knulls I have a feeling when Harry gets the Goblin formula it'll revive Venom and potentially break his connection to Knull allowing him to be Agent Venom and maybe having him use the OG Venom look as his Symbiote surge
100%, Harry mentions during the first Emily May Foundation mission that when he was in the tank "I kept hearing my mom's voice. She told me our planet was in danger". Venom was manipulating Harry since they were in the tank, also explains why Harry was so quick to go along Venom's vision.

It could’ve been better. I honestly thought you can catch them swinging around like gta v. They only appear in crimes. And when the crime’s over, miles, peter, wraith disappear without a trace. Like you don’t see them swinging into the distance. Like miles disappears by turning invisible and you look around, he’s no wear to be found, same with peter

We fight alongside them and see them in cutscenes. And that’s pretty good tbh. They might do a “home base” feature for wraith or some shit like that, but seeing as how we can’t even switch to regular Peter and regular miles besides missions, ion think it’s likely. Seeing em swing into the distance is eh tbh cause we know what they’re doing anyways. Games still gteat

I honesty wouldnt mind seeing Harry return fully as Agent Venom, would be nice for Peter to have his best friend on Team Spidey...Imagine Spiderman(Pete) Spiderman(Miles), Wraith, Silk, and Agent Venom fighting off a ton of Kingpin goons or Hunters
Ohh man! I wish Harry was ANOTHER Spiderman that they can pull off. It'd be great! I'd love to see games uses more and more Spiderman. In every comic, in every story, there's always been 1 Spiderman. I'd love it if there's more... I would've loved to see Harry and Pete do a brotherhood thing.
They missed a golden opportunity to make Harry the third main playable character and be a hero for a good while till he becomes venom but by the end Peter coulda give him the Anti Symbiote so disappointing honestly
Yeah i'm hope in marvel spider-man 3 peter find out the anti-venom can cure any disease so he give it to harry which might put a stop to Norman from being the green goblin and coming back to his senses also the anti-venom is perfect for Harry because like I'm said the anti symbiote can heal any diseases this might help harry dream(heal the world) become real
he was evil before but symbiotes need negativity to kickstart the rection and henry only started being negative after spiderman got stabbed and spiderman always has doubts which the symbiote can twist into hate, henry was just too happy
One thing that I think the game is lacking is that they needed more interaction between Harry and Miles. There really wasn't any leading up to the final battle, so the clash between Miles and Venom doesn't have as much weight.
I will never understand how the entire time Harry had the symbiote the first time he showed 0 signs of turning down a dark path but almost immediately after Peter got it he started becoming way more aggressive
anyone else noticed the continuity error? his agent venom symbol that Harry gets at the end of the story mission isnt on his chest after you come across him in the city as both spider-men
When I first saw this by accident, it was such a surprise. Harry doesn't interact with Miles very much in this game, let alone as Agent Venom, so this was great to see. The Spider-Pals line is just funny to hear. Such a shame that this didn't last.
man i wish we could like, toggle certain things after beating the game. like imagine still being able to run into harry after beating the game. or being able to swap peter to a symbiote version so you can get different voicelines for certain activities like crimes. hell just let us play as venom more.

Anti-Venom suit should have had suit styles. Maybe just unlocked after you beat the main story. The suit styles would be Black Suit, Symbiote Suit, and Agent Venom suit. Edit: Okay, I just learned you can use the Black Suit after beating the main story. But it's not a suit style.

the whole mechanic of running into other heroes while running into fights wouldnt be surprised if its a test for a future game against knull and his symbiote army.
This is awesome. Def need to keep an eye out for him during NG+. I encountered Wraith and whichever Spidey I wasn’t playing all the time throughout and after the campaign, but never saw Harry once outside of Main Quests.
I love that Miles first idea for Harry's name is another Spider-man xD Not a different name but a: Yes we got another spider-men! We are trio of spider-men now!
I mean this games universe has an Avengers team and a fantastic four team, and the wolverine game is set in this universe so presumably the X-Men exists in this universe too, so I think they may have been testing a feature so the next game will have other random heroes jump in and help you every now and again, like DareDevil, IronFist, and possibly the occasional Avenger.
This really sucks, not because it's bad, but because Harry shows not only how good hearted he is, but how excited he is to have to have similar powers to Peter and Miles. If only Venom wasn't Venom. 😞
I wonder if they will find a piece of venom later and give it to flash Thompson later to become agent venom. Considering carnage has been teased in this game I hope they do a maximum carnage dlc or spinoff with Eddie brock.
No Eddie Brock, it's not needed, Flash either If Li gets his Powers back and does the same he did to Peter, then not only will Harry be cured, but also could become Agent Anti-Venom

@@hoshiryu Anti-Venom isn't usually a protagonist though, I mean it's nice to be a walking cure for any disease, including cancer, but it cures said diseases by making a persons body/DNA "pure". Which doesn't sound bad until you realize that Spider-Man has mutated DNA from his spider bite which makes him seen as unpure by the symbiote. That also includes Hulk's radiation poisoning, all x-mens x-gene, and any other impurity found in just about all superheroes. Usually, the Anti-Venom symbiote will remove superheroes powers in an attempt to "get rid of all disease" Honestly its super strange that they gave Peter the Anti-Venom suit, because now if he takes it off, he shouldn't have any powers anymore. Maybe they will use that for an emotional turning point in the next game. Peter giving up his powers to save Harry or Norman after they become the green goblin and almost die from the serum.
I platinumed this game and didn't realize this guy showed up for crime encounters, I think because I saved most of my open world shenanigans for after the story.
one thing i was hoping for at the end of the day, was Harry being given the anti-venom suit so he can keep on living and stuff. but they didnt go that route to keep him alive in the post game.
Maybe Harry could possibly (Very minute chance) still have the Venom symbiote. Even though Peter removed it, he still had enough in him for Anti-Venom. Maybe the bit of symbiote in Harry could bring him out of his coma and make him return as the "Leathal Protector" if they do a Carnage dlc.
This would’ve been cool to have Harry as a playable character. Oh well, 🤷♂️ Spoilers: I’m excited about the good possibility Silk might be playable in the 3rd game.
While I prefer this to just mainly be the Spider-Men but imagine running into Stark flying out of the city or Ghost rider driving down the road. It’d be so immersive to the city

I’m also see that in a lot of other tv shows and movies like the main that everyone knows and loves is on the cover but they trick you and put them in the back so the others can have the spot light I love that. Making him a crime fighter for a bit was a nice touch it hits even harder now when he becomes fully evil. They had such high hopes
some of the most tragic villains are the ones who had the potential to be the greatest heroes under even slightly better circumstances

I... honestly had no idea you could run into Agent Venom in random crimes. And I did pretty much every sidequest I could before each story mission.
I did that too but I also did every random crime that popped up in the meantime so I had a lot of chances to see him

I honesty wouldnt mind seeing Harry return fully as Agent Venom, would be nice for Peter to have his best friend on Team Spidey...Imagine Spiderman(Pete) Spiderman(Miles), Wraith, Silk, and Agent Venom fighting off a ton of Kingpin goons or Hunters

Yeah i'm hope in marvel spider-man 3 peter find out the anti-venom can cure any disease so he give it to harry which might put a stop to Norman from being the green goblin and coming back to his senses also the anti-venom is perfect for Harry because like I'm said the anti symbiote can heal any diseases this might help harry dream(heal the world) become real

my theory is that venom wasnt evil at the start, but rather "woke up" sleeper agent style once he came in contact with his meteor again
No Venom was kind of neutral-aggressive, and he became really evil when Curt talked about destroying him
he was evil before but symbiotes need negativity to kickstart the rection and henry only started being negative after spiderman got stabbed and spiderman always has doubts which the symbiote can twist into hate, henry was just too happy

One thing that I think the game is lacking is that they needed more interaction between Harry and Miles. There really wasn't any leading up to the final battle, so the clash between Miles and Venom doesn't have as much weight.
This might just be my preference but agent venom has the coolest suit out of all of them.

I will never understand how the entire time Harry had the symbiote the first time he showed 0 signs of turning down a dark path but almost immediately after Peter got it he started becoming way more aggressive

When I first saw this by accident, it was such a surprise. Harry doesn't interact with Miles very much in this game, let alone as Agent Venom, so this was great to see. The Spider-Pals line is just funny to hear. Such a shame that this didn't last.

man i wish we could like, toggle certain things after beating the game. like imagine still being able to run into harry after beating the game. or being able to swap peter to a symbiote version so you can get different voicelines for certain activities like crimes. hell just let us play as venom more.

Anti-Venom suit should have had suit styles. Maybe just unlocked after you beat the main story. The suit styles would be Black Suit, Symbiote Suit, and Agent Venom suit.
Edit: Okay, I just learned you can use the Black Suit after beating the main story. But it's not a suit style.

I encountered Wraith and whichever Spidey I wasn’t playing all the time throughout and after the campaign, but never saw Harry once outside of Main Quests.
I love that Miles first idea for Harry's name is another Spider-man xD Not a different name but a: Yes we got another spider-men! We are trio of spider-men now!

Kinda cool that the extra heroes you meet also do crimes. Wonder if they can do this in future games.
I mean this games universe has an Avengers team and a fantastic four team, and the wolverine game is set in this universe so presumably the X-Men exists in this universe too, so I think they may have been testing a feature so the next game will have other random heroes jump in and help you every now and again, like DareDevil, IronFist, and possibly the occasional Avenger.
That was so cool to see Miles Spider-Man fight alongside Harry/Agent Venom. I wish they could have done it more often.
This really sucks, not because it's bad, but because Harry shows not only how good hearted he is, but how excited he is to have to have similar powers to Peter and Miles. If only Venom wasn't Venom. 😞

@@hoshiryu Anti-Venom isn't usually a protagonist though, I mean it's nice to be a walking cure for any disease, including cancer, but it cures said diseases by making a persons body/DNA "pure".
Which doesn't sound bad until you realize that Spider-Man has mutated DNA from his spider bite which makes him seen as unpure by the symbiote. That also includes Hulk's radiation poisoning, all x-mens x-gene, and any other impurity found in just about all superheroes. Usually, the Anti-Venom symbiote will remove superheroes powers in an attempt to "get rid of all disease"
Honestly its super strange that they gave Peter the Anti-Venom suit, because now if he takes it off, he shouldn't have any powers anymore. Maybe they will use that for an emotional turning point in the next game. Peter giving up his powers to save Harry or Norman after they become the green goblin and almost die from the serum.

one thing i was hoping for at the end of the day, was Harry being given the anti-venom suit so he can keep on living and stuff. but they didnt go that route to keep him alive in the post game.
Maybe Harry could possibly (Very minute chance) still have the Venom symbiote. Even though Peter removed it, he still had enough in him for Anti-Venom. Maybe the bit of symbiote in Harry could bring him out of his coma and make him return as the "Leathal Protector" if they do a Carnage dlc.
This would’ve been cool to have Harry as a playable character. Oh well, 🤷♂️
