@@deb__chatterjee other castes have become exploitors of country resources for many decades now ,like in government jobs and reservations in medical, engineering and administrative and many other countless things without competition with general caste peoples...reservation was for 10 years and decades have passed they should feel some shame on it now and give it to all the poor people's of India
@@irhdaily if you still didn't fully get it, there's reservation and quotas in India (in universities and jobs) who for people who were either discriminated against in the past or didn't have the same privileges as others(then). They are mainly divided into three - SC (schedule cast), ST (schedule tribe) and OBC(other backward classes).

Reservations/quota(in admission,jobs etc) is given to various cast/community which were suppressed by higher cast in past.
Guys you know that there is a caste system in Indian. So there are some castes that are backward or are in minorities so there are diffrent categories based on which they get different levels of relaxation. Like in colleges some percentage of seats are reserved for these caste categories. They also get relaxation in fees etc.This is basically to help they grow to the equal status like General Caste catagory. There are some disadvantages of this system as well.....

4:23 So in India after Independence government decided to make reservations for people from not so good background to help them. There are OBCs Other Backward Class, SC Scheduled Caste, ST Scheduled Tribe, PwD Person with Disability. And a person of any religion, caste, region could be in this. One can apply for it and after some checking they get the status and the benefits of seat reservation in Universities of medical, engineering, law and others with concession in fees; government jobs; etc. So initially this program was to be stopped after a decade of independence but as politicians saw this as a vote-bank, this continued. This is based on economical status majorly and few other requirements. But because of corruption and because of the weird way policies are written and interpreted by the bureaucrats- the not so poor, the middle class some rich get these category status and get their children in good universities because then the admission marks requirement is low for them.

In India you have different castes.
Some of which used to be socially or economically backward during the Islamists Mughals and Britishers rule .
So our government has reserved some quota /seats in education and government jobs .
So OBC means (other backward classes)
There are also scheduled Tribes who have reservations.
Not during Islamist and British rule. During the whole Hindu rule

And these so called OBC or minority may not be poor but they get cost free education and unfair advantage over government jobs.

So, A man named Dr. B.R. Ambedkar created these rules to give some exemption to these people to fulfill whatever unfair thing happened to them in past times.

OBC(other backward classes). It's like affirmative action for black people in America. Certain underprivileged castes have been given these quotas in colleges and goverment jobs. It is meant to lift them up since they historically haven't had the same opportunities to study before college. Things have changed tho so many feel these quotas are unnecessary and wrong to those general castes who are underprivileged (poor, living in certain backward regions etc) but can't get admissions even if they score more than OBC/SC/ST caste (since a certain percentage is reserved for backward castes) just because they're not protected cast. We in India call this "Reservation system"
