Last year I did all silver, blue and white ornaments. I had a bunch of small Christmas trees in my house and it started to look like my house threw up Christmas. By the time Christmas came I was just sick of all the decor that I took it down on Christmas Day. This year I am going to simplify things and I am going to go much more minimal. One tree only so it doesn’t overwhelm me. I decluttered a bunch of misc Christmas stuff and doing just green and gold ornaments.
Traditional decor for me this Christmas. This year I will not be going all out, we are spending Christmas in Utah with our son, daughter in law, daughter, her boyfriend and bringing our other son and daughter in law with us from MD. So... we are super excited to spend time with our adult children. I can forgo all of the decor for this special gift.
I live in a log home and have a newly remodeled front room that I'm still figuring out the decor style for, but my other living room with the fireplace is is red and black buffalo check theme with all rustic/farm ornaments. My kitchen is a mix of decor with out tree of family ornaments. My girls have a teal tree with all the fun girly ornaments and my sons room just has a small tree and we are just now growing his ornaments collection with different animals, trucks, dinosaurs and all the things he loves. I let my girls pick out a new fun ornament for their tree every year from Walmart. I wish I was a good decorator like you!!
I do a tree in vintage style with traditional colors , a tree with the family ornaments, a more rustic red and cream and burlap tree and our big tree is Harry Potter themes...my son wanted it 2 years ago so we've been adding to it every year.
I’ve decorated with pink for years. Some red has crept in over the years. My great aunt had two pink Santas when I was a child and they influenced me that direction.
I have always been either all abt having multi colors on my Christmas tree, as far as the lights go, or having a pretty blue glow on it. But, the rest of it, the ornaments, must be something that either was from my childhood or something I made, or maybe, its something that I just could relate too! Over all though, the more traditional, the better!!! My "thing" of course is trees! If I could put them everywhere, I would do so!!! I have even made a decor piece inside a glass jar with lid that utilized tiny trees and other cute scenes while adding snow on the bottom and then frosting the inside of the jar, at the top, so it has an old timey, yesteryear look to look!
This year I’m doing a gingerbread/peppermint theme. I started collecting gingerbread last year and I’m going to continue with that theme this year. I cannot wait 😊😊😊
For a couple years I liked the blacks, whites, and wood tones but my heart is traditional reds, whites, and greens. Love what you found. Can't wait for 2nd haul too. 🙂
Forgot to mention: do what YOU want with picking finishes for your new home. It’s YOUR house, no one else’s. Who cares what the negative Nellies have to say about if they like your type of flooring etc? They don’t have to live there, you do. You pick what brings you joy, what you will love waking up to seeing every day. I’m the end, if you love it, you will have peace every time you look at it in your home. I’ve got an artistic background and took interior design. I’ve got relatives who constantly pick at me when they see things I’ve wanted to put in my home. But I’m the end when it’s in, they agree that it looks good. What helps me, is that I love it, it brings a smile to my face, and I enjoy living with it. Thankfully I’ve also got a loving and accommodating husband who is fine with most things I want to do with our home. That helps too. 😉

I love the traditional Christmas colors. I have to have colored lights on my main tree,at least. The decorations on my tree to be totally mis-matched. Some, what the kids made, some , that I’ve purchased in Germany and others I’ve had forever. Same with regular decor. Can’t wait to see #2!

I go all out decorating for Christmas it is one of my favorite holidays! I usually decorate in the traditional colors but since I put a tree in every room I do a variation of burgundy and gold. Last year for my Living Room I added rose gold and champagne to my burgundy. My dining room is red and white with cardinals because it has my family picture wall so the cardinal are the signs from my parents. This year I am added a 6 foot slim trim tree to my big front porch . Like I said I love to decorate for Christmas it is my joy

I also decorate with the traditional Christmas colors, except for our bathroom. I snagged a cute white shower curtain with black trees (they're hand hand-drawn/scribbed?) from Big Lots a couple years ago so I do the black and white theme in the bathroom!
That made me chuckle about the squirrel/fox. I got a cute deer Xmas mug for our granddaughter last year, but she thinks it’s a squirrel. So now we just call it the 🐿 mug! I’m like “sweetie, do you want your hot chocolate in the squirrel mug?” Lol

i love a soft neutral tree lots of texture creams ,whites,wood with a little sparkle aswell lots of lights ,i also just got some ceramic textured baubles almost a chalk paint finish and i also have some birds,reindeer,bells too add i cant wait to decorate already we put ours up last day of november so im def counting down the days 😍🎄

I do a gorgeous gold and off white colour Christmas tree with a few dèp red berries throughout all Nativity related(upstairs in our dining room,and a children's colorful tree in the family room downstairs and finally a Winterthur red and white with mittens,snowshoes,etc.
HERE WE GO!!!!!! 🎄🎄I love those houses too....I went to pick up additional picks for my tree...over $100 later.....Anyhow, I refrained from the house for now. I did not see the village sets. Now I'm thinking I may want to do a tier tray with just houses and trees....hmmmm....you did one a year ago I think with your larger galvanized standing tier tray with the snow. I'm thinking I may want to something similar. To be honest, I was thinking of not doing a tier tray this year, but the house idea seems simple and could be very beautiful. Maybe with green, white, pops of red. I really don't have a color palette yet. I usually do the living room with white/silver/red as the tree is flocked but then use more traditional colors (somewhat muted) in green/white/red. Hearth and Hand came out with some nice things in the muted tones...some of the other things though seemed too orange for me. You're right, things are selling out quickly and it will be here in just a little over 2 months. I've already started Christmas shopping. There's always so much to do as I also decorate and do Christmas gifts for my staff and clients too. But it's exciting!!

Crystal you crack me up! Those little plastic trees have been around for at least the last six years. Don’t know if they’ve always been at Hobby Lobby, but they’ve for sure been at Ross, Walmart, Dollar tree, Dollar General, Home Goods, Marshall’s and Tj MAXX. 😂 As always though I love how it’s like I’m talking to a friend, and how calming your store walk through is. You can flock a tree with flat/matte white spray paint and it's not as messy, you could even spray a clear matte finish on it.

Crystal you crack me up! Those little plastic trees have been around for at least the last six years. Don’t know if they’ve always been at Hobby Lobby, but they’ve for sure been at Ross, Walmart, Dollar tree, Dollar General, Home Goods, Marshall’s and Tj MAXX. 😂

It is my absolute favorite time of year!! So I’m planning on doing a grinch Christmas tree for the kids! Going to decorate their playroom too with some grinch wall decor I can’t wait!

Going with silver,and red , I bought the black and white checkerboard table runner with the red truck on the ends , and more decor pieces that go with that. We just moved in last Oct so I need to add other things.

I definitely love traditional. Especially red and white.
But we are adding a second tree in our foyer this year and I think I want to go with a winter wonderland theme. Lots of white and silver. I can't wait!
