Winters you're an absolute star! I've always liked those wood pop out terraine but I was always put off because they were so flat! Textured paint! AMAZING IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Like the new stuff will look great with your other terrain pieces .... Would love to see you build a board that's half ruins like those and the other half your industrial terrain would make for a very interesting battle report and I think it just look awesome
I am trying a similar thing with some mdf buildings I’ve got. When you sprayed the mdf buildings with the textured spray paint, you used black granite and pebble right? Just a quick question. Did you use both sprays? If so which order did you spray them? Black granite first then spray over with the pebble spray after? Also what primer did you use? Was it just a matt black primer? Please help :)
Hi. I just got interested in Warhammer figures/games and im considering buying my first "starter pack" really soon. But i cant really decide what army/race to begin with. Im leaning towards some of the space marines or eldars, but dont really know what chapter/race to go with, any suggestions??. Keep up the good work with ur videos, Im really enjoying them and nice paintaing! Btw sorry for bad english.
You could just pick what you think looks really cool, it'll inspire you to want to paint and continue to play with them as often as you can. If you're just playing with some buddies in a casual environment you needn't have a super competitive list, and simply pick units you like to fill up your list.
space marines are probably the most forgiving if you want to be competetive, but for casual games with friends its best to go for what ever looks coolest.
Wait, so you can just buy cans of spay paint right off the shelf in England? They're all in locked cages here in New Zealand. Great video, texture paints is a great idea.
They are nice although my biggest beef is due to the current way 8th edition terrain rules are written. So many gorgeous terrina kits are now available yet almost none of them have good solid walls on the first floor. I suppose you could refrain from punching out the first floor windows but then I am sure the terrain loses much of it's visual appeal. Last winter I built and painted about 200 dollars worth of pegasis games ruin kits. So of course 8th comes out and ruins ruins lol. Luckily pegasis kits have multiple solid wall blocks and I opted for at least two solid sides per ruin, but it still annoys me. Anyone out there should look into the pegasis kits btw, they are super cheap and you can build literally any size structure.
I think some tournaments run the house rule that you can't shoot through first floor windows. You could agree on this kind of house rule in a friendly game. Otherwise, you could "board up" the windows with some wooden plank-looking bits.
Erc888 - agreed. Popsicle sticks either cut evenly or broken off look like planks of wood. Placed randomly over windows could give the effect of windows being boarded up.
Alexandre Charette. You're allowed up to 30 seconds of unsolicited material from tertiary sources. Fritz had a video/movie running in the background, on a PC that was in shot, throughout an entire video which is not allowed.

Can we all take a moment to insult winter about how Milky he has his tea. As a Yorkshireman, I am truly disgusted ;)
