Your comments regarding small towns was spot on! We live in Mountain Home in north central Arkansas and the small town feel played a major role in retiring to this part of the country. I loved going on the long trips. But my wife will not go any longer. The Tornado and Lightening we went through on the last one did her in. She did not like getting hit by trees.

CV wants to do a two day ride to a location and then wander around based on weather. Then pic our return weather window. It sounds like a good plan.

Awesome trip and such great memories you two have made. You're part of the elite club that can honestly say they have crossed the US in both directions. I just wish you had encountered better weather, but that's nearly impossible to plan for such a long distance. You've also greatly raised my confidence in the can-am's ability. Other than the great steam (cicada) incident, it appears that the can-am performed flawlessly.
