Dope video bro. Thank you.
Great vid! I am happy you mentioned the insufficient curvature of 3800R! That is very unfortunate for this size of a monitor
Ordered!
Will wait until the 1900R version comes out and buy that.
Keep it up
Samsung is currently showing off their new 49" CRG9 120Hz refresh, freesync 2 and HDR1000 5120x1440 monitor at CES. That would probably be my choice for gaming as long as they have fixed their extremely slow black-to-grey pixel transition times from the previous model CHG90. The CHG90 had a few pixel transitions that took over 30ms which is an eternity for a gaming monitor but typical for a VA panel. Samsung needs to use more aggressive overdrive if they are to market these panels to gamers. Content creators will purchase the Dell or LG for color accuracy as they are IPS panels.
also waiting for this monitor!
Awesome! This would be part of my dream pc if I were to buy it. Also, I see you have an ASUS motherboard.
Yes! I bought it back in 2015 and it has been great. Think it’s the x99 deluxe II.
Hi, I planning buy this monitor? But today I understood that my video card Geforce GTX 970 dont support max resulation. Can you please recommender what video card I need? I want editing 4k video etc...
How do you feel about this monitor now? I have the Samsung g9 Odyssey and it has all the problems that are mentioned on the internet like backlight image bleeding, g-sync problems and flickering, black screens, poor resolution. I plan on sending the g9 back but the problem is that nothing else out there in the 49-in size ultra-wide form factor goes above 60 hz at 4K. I believe AOG and dark matter have some monitors but they have a lot of issues as well so I was thinking about getting this Dell 49-in or the LG 49" monitors, but I'm kind of bummed about having to pay the same price I paid for my Samsung g9 but having to step down to 60 hz. I'm a professional designer so color accuracy and high resolution matters a lot but I also do casual gaming and so I kind of wanted something that at least has 120 hz but nothing checks both those boxes.
How many FPS are you getting on that? I like samsungs CR9 they just announced but I don't see any card hitting 120fps at this resolution. I have a 1080ti and with a 3440x1440 and in most games I'm still not hitting over 100fps
That screen looks epic! Price aside, would it be possible to stack two on top of each other with the proper mounting?
It is! Price aside and proper mounting, you can have them stacked. The monitor is very heavy so caution with the setup if you do go that route.
TheTechVault that’s cool. If I were to spend 3k on two screens lol, this would be the ultimate setup.
Unless you absolutely need 5120x2880 desktop resolution I'd just buy a 55" 4k panel which would be the same size as two of these 49" displays stacked on top of each other. It would be much cheaper, less hassle and you can actually game using all available screen space on a single display. That being said if you are not gaming I do see the temptation of having 110 ppi pixel density on a 55" format, that is something a 55" 4k display can't offer so you would have to sit further away to compensate for the lower pixel density.
Need support for using this monitor: When i play Resident Evil 4 (Remastered version UHD-4K) PC game at FULL SCREEN, it cut 20% from top and 20% bottom of the game actual image/picture at 5120x1440 pixel 32:9 aspect ratio. If i want to see full image of game, i must change video settings from the game to 2560x1440 pixel and 16:9 aspect ratio. What is the problem? Do i must change settings of monitor to see FULL image on screen for Resident Evil 4 PC game. At this moment i have LG 32" nano IPS 4K monitor and i see the game FULL SCREEN at 3840x2106 pixel 16:9 aspect ratio. Please help me to solve this issue.
Less curve better for editing and seeing edits truer to size wo being distorted by higher curvature of lets say sammy.
The bigger the monitor, the higher the curve needs to be.
A monitor with this size shouldnt have that small curve.
Im using a 21:9 34 inch Ultrawide monitor with 1800R and feel its still not curved enough at times.
Would have thought about this, but thats a big no go.
>gets a cool ass monitor
>Plays fortnite on it
Someone’s salty! 😂😂😂
All these lemmings play either PUBG or Fortnite when reviewing monitors drives me nuts. But I guess that is what the masses want.
could a 2080 super GPU run this thing at its max resolution?
Puneet Kalhan yes it can
@@TheTechVault thank you so much for the lightening fast reply. I am needing/wanting a monitor this size for productivity purposes (not for gaming), do you recommend this over the LG and Samsung both of which also have 5120x1440 resolution? I do like the fact the samsung is more curved, but it is hard to find in stores. The dell can be purchased via their website.
Your son played xbox on it?
