I grew up in Worcester, so only about 20 minutes away, and walked often on the Malverns, including doing end-to-end twice in my teens. I can’t pretend to remember each one individually (or what they’re all called!) but this brought back nostalgic memories! I live in the North now and this makes me miss the midlands…

@Jellybean malvern link station drops you at the north end of the hills. Head up the Worcester road and then north malvern road that will take you to the clock tower and one way onto the hills. The other is great malvern station head up avenue road that takes you into great malvern. Carry on up church street and at belle vue terrace enter the rose bank gardens which has the ‘99 steps’ that takes you up onto the hills.

Great video. 1 always use a garman GPS never a smart phone 2 even if you double back you can be weak and cut out hills to keep your return route as flat as you want or need to if your legs are wearing out 3 you missed out ragged stone hill 254m, you need to walk east down a road till you see what looks like a small quarry and walk up the tiny high paths and it's extremley steep towards the top. I walked from the malvern wells car park to the beacon then to the north hill 397m doubled back in 3:37 just before 22:00 did 9.1 miles total ascent 4725 ft decent 4114 ft max elevation 1413 ft min elevation 111ft. If I could of carried on past my car I could of done more. I'd recommend parking in the middle or to the north if you want ot get really fit but you don't need to injure yourself if you are not used to endurance sport. I live in worcester and can spot the locals because they are running around with a six pack showing off or wearing feel running trainners.
I slipped over in the rain walking with a friend on the north hill 397m. There is no moutain rescue so you really have to be stupid in a quarry or Ivy scar to get into trouble. There is alot of bouldering you can do in that area. I'd recommend the Garmin etrx 30 and some walking sticks for later use.
