I've grew up in COGIC and it's been 5 years since I stop going to church because of certain reasons.I still pray & study the word as usual. Matthew 6:21 says "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." When we are able to give 10% or more of our income instead of keeping that money for ourselves, it shows that our heart isn't tied to our money and that we love God more than our money.
Listen your intention is good, but you have to be careful with snakes out there. You don't to tithe only give God put in your heart that;s all and sometimes what he ask can be 100% it's not about Levitical law but free will, we are no longer under Moseaic law but under grace.

As I was reading these posts, I came across yours Mr. Rivers. It's good to see that someone else knows the book of Malachi is speaking to the Levitical Priesthood. Malachi tells us exactly who he's addressing on behalf of God.
Many leaders of the "church" use that scripture out of context and put PEOPLE back under bondage to the Law. The Word tells us that if you broke one part of the law you broke it all. If the Law could've been kept then there was no need for Jesus Christ to come. The law showed us how sinful we were and that we needed a Redeemer. Thank God for Jesus!!! They tell people that if they don't tithe, they're cursed and if they do tithed, they're blessed. Giving money is not predicated on a person being blessed or cursed.
I pray that the eyes, ears, and heart of those who desire to know the truth will be opened.

WE are not robbing God because WE are not in the Tribe of the Levites and WE are not priests. That is Old Testament teaching meant to feed the priests. We do not have priests today. Jesus took care of all those Old Testament Laws and WE are not under the Laws. They did not work and that's why Jesus had to shed his blood on the cross.

GEE GEE! You are very knowledgeable about the scriptures, in fact, better than Pastor Jennings on this subject. He is struggling with this topic very much so. He needs to study a little more about tithes and offerings, Because there is no tithing in the new testament. At 3:52 Timing he mentioned Saphira and the spouse were killed because they robbed God, with his lick talk, he made it seem like as if it was a Levitical law for them to sale their home and bring that money at the apostles feet was the reason why they died. It was not an obligation, they deliberately chose to sale their home. The mistake was, they kept a portion of it and lied to the apostles that's why they got killed. I think pastor Jennings should silent on this topic. Or maybe he knows the tithes teaching is wrong! but he is just playing it all along. Let's be honest he might lose a lot of money if people find out about it and stop tithing.

Pastor Jennings was offered 24 thousand a month, 100 thousand and recently 7 million and yet he stands flat-footed. How many preachers do we know that would turn down that amount?

God operates a principle of giving. It's His principle. The early church did not go without because everyone brought what they could and gave. No one went without. The poor and needy were well taken care of. This is what tithe and offerings ought to fix in the church. He's preaching right.

I must say each time I am blessed with the enlightenment of the written word I feel myself filled with a harmony and my eyes just watering as if I was sad ,but I realized it is the fulfillment of what I told my Grandfather when he asked me how is my little preacher, I smiled in joy and embracement as I lowered my head and answered I don't believe I know enough to be a preacher. I always believed myself to be a soul warrior as a child.
So as I am enlighten by GOD'S written word I feel the comfort of Grace as if I was in the safest place 🙏.

People here what they want and choose what they want out of scripture....pastor Jennings covered all of what you see people disagreeing on in the comments .....yes Malachi was addressing the Levitical priesthood about the tithe because of their false practices of it ....one thing JESUS always did was expose them for who they were. However for those of you who keep hollering We're under the law of grace and mercy......yes we certainly are but it's still a "" LAW " though it's now spiritual under the New covenant". Even Paul reminds us that All of the LAW is filled in the commandment to LOVE just as the CHRIST reminded us by saying I give you a NEW commandment to love one another.....in doings this faithfully a man will automatically keep every law of GOD that was ever written from Genesis to Revelation why?? Because his heart & spirit will have been made perfect in love.......this is what the new covenant is about and teaches.....no way is grace a pass to trample the law of of GOD by disobedience to it , or continuing in sin thinking grace will save you.......pastor Jennings clearly stated that whats directed toward the people and the Levitical priesthood under old covenant ...shifts to being a spiritual responsibility to the spiritual believer who represents the church in essence ....not a building .....and from the priests to the now appointed Shepherds or Pastors who looks over the bodily temple that's not made with hands....so yes we still tithe what ever it is GOD requires us to tithe because it's just not money you can give......giving your first to GOD is simply a act of faith and matter of the heart which is your SPIRITUAL condition!!!! When God said "Return unto Me" in Malachi 3:7, He was speaking of returning to His ordinances. The Priests of Israel had departed from the ordinances of God and God was telling them to return to the ordinances they had departed from.
What was God's tithe ordinance?
It was a set of rules (commandments) concerning the tithes that God said were to be observed. Those rules were...
a) tithes are to be agricultural in content. (Le. 27:30-33)
b) tithes are not to be observed unless you are a citizen of the land of Canaan. (De. 12:1,10-11; Ps. 147:19-20)
c) tithes are to be taken to Jerusalem annually and eaten before the LORD. (De. 14:22-26)
d) an agricultural tithe is to be given to bloodline descendants of the patriarch Levi. (Num. 18:21-23; Neh. 10:37-38)
e) a bloodline descendant of the patriarch Aaron must be present at the time tithes are given to the Levites. (Nu. 18:24-28; Neh. 10:37-38)
f) the agricultural tithe that is given to Levites is not to be taken to the House of God. (Nu. 18:21-23; Ne. 10:37-38)
g) the congregation is not to tithe directly to the House of God. (Nu. 18:21-23; Ne. 18:37-38)
h) only Levites are to tithe to the House of God. (Nu. 18:21-22; Neh. 10:37-38
i) Levites are to take a tithe of the agricultural tithe they receive from the congregation to the House of God. (Ne. 10:37-38)
j) an agricultural tithe is to be given to Levites, widows, fatherless, and strangers every third year. (De. 14:28-29; 26:12)
Nowhere in God's tithe ordinance is the congregation told to tithe money to the House of God. As a matter of fact, the congregation is expressly forbidden to tithe money to the House of God. (De. 12:8) Nowhere in God's tithe ordinance is the congregation told to tithe to the House of God. They were forbidden to even approach the House of God with their tithes. (Nu. 18:21-22)
It would make absolutely no sense for Malachi to call for a return to the ordinances in 3:7, and then turn around and tell people to transgress the ordinances in 3:10. Therefore, we know that Malachi could not have been telling the congregation to bring their tithes to the storehouse in 3:10.
But...if the instruction in 3:10 is not for the congregation, then who is it for?
Malachi 2:1 And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you.
The instruction in Malachi 3:10 is for the Priests of Israel. They had departed from the ordinances and were offering blind and maim sacrifices on the altar. They had stolen the tithes and offerings.
Malachi 1:6 A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?
Malachi 1:7 Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of the LORD is contemptible.
Given the irrefutable facts from the word of God, it is absolutely wrong for preachers to use Malachi 3:10 as proof-text that money is to be tithed to the local Church. It is not about monetary tithes...it is about agricultural tithes.

Greetings, I want to make a profound statement, which is: why are you folks so doubtful of the word Pastor Jennings is gratefully sharing?, if spirit would allow Pastor Jennings to ignore you foolish people, Pastor Jennings would have enough time to come to Greensboro NC, into my home and pray for my daughter with Prader'Willi Syndrome, and there still be enough time to chance any and all hidden and unseen forces of not from God out of our home. Money tithes started from the catholic church. No where in scripture is tithing transferred to money. The law is spoken against in the new testament church. More man made doctrine....

The careful and skillful manipulation of scripture for personal gain is abomination. 2 Cor. 9:7 states:As every man purposeth in his heart, so let him give, not grudgingly or out of compulsion; for God loveth the cheerful giver. This is our New Testament standard people. This video has me on point. Money is truly the root of all evil and can corrupt the best of them. Read the Word brothers and sisters, read that Word!!!!! Let God sort out the false prophets and examine yourself in light of what is clear teaching on giving in the New Testament.
It is hard to find a church today I keep my tithes and now neglect to take away my offering. Where to get a good preacher.
For me it took me a week to get the holy ghost. After I got it I realised that I was in the way of getting the holy ghost. I was thinking, how was it going to happen, how was I going to sound or what would I feel. The night I got the holy ghost I remember it like it was yesterday and it's been over 25 years. I went up to the alter at the end of the service and remember just wanting to love on God. I wasn't thinking of what it was going to be like or what I could do to make it happen. I just wanted to love on God and next thing I know I was speaking in tongues and then I remember looking down at my mouth and wondering when it was going to stop lol. For me I was in the way. I could have received the holy ghost the first time I seemed him if I would have just let God be God and just received it without thinking so much.

@@ManuelCongo78 well now theirs a difference in the gift of tongues and getting the holy ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues as the spirit gives the utterance, acts 2:4. In acts 10:46 Peter was preaching to Some people and a man named Cornelius and the bible said as he yet spake these word the holy ghost had fell on them and they began to speak with TONGUES cause Peter heard them. That's how he knew they were filled with the holy ghost because they heard them speak with TONGUES and then they were baptized in Jesus name. Same happen to me and any other that seeks after it for the promise is unto you and to your children and to all that are afar off even as many as the Lord our God shall call, acts 2:39. Now in 1 Corinthians 12: 1-10 it talks about the gifts of the spirit as to how it edifies the church. What I do is pray and when I feel the spirit of God coming on I might speak in tongues if I feel that, when the spirit is strong I will speak in tongues as my spirit cries out to God. It's your spirit or soul as you might call it talking or praying in a spiritual tongue. I'd say if you want the holy ghost and believe me its hard to understand till you get it the move if God, but if you truly want it God will give it to you cause he knows your heart and also God don't need any help, just seek God and let God be God and don't limit yourself from God blessings and gifts. It's easy for people to talk about something that they haven't experienced just like I did before I truly wanted what God wanted me to see and when I seen it and went after what God promised me and it happened. God bless you on your journey in Jesus name.
How do we know where to tithe? There aint to many truth preachers like the ones in this ministry. I will glady give to this ministry on the strength of God. #HolySpirit.

Do not talk yourself out of giving, that is dangerous. God is a giver...He gave the greatest gift. He expects us to give for the sake of the poor, needy and widows. what if I don't go to a church, how can i tithe?
Their are plenty of Preaching on TV that listen to everyday. They feed my soul so tithe with them. Meaning I help support that network to stay on the air

Sometimes I hear ministers say things to people to try to get them to give money as what they call a “seed offering” as they tell the people to get something in return from God. On one such incident I heard on TV on Feb.10, 2019, the minister was telling the people that if they gave by faith they may receive 1000 times more back by a miracle by God , or they may be healed or receive some other type of miracle. The minister was telling a story about a person that was an illegal that paid thousands of dollars for legal fees to get a green card but was being told by the government they still would not get a green card, but when the person gave $1000 by faith the illegal person received the green card in the mail, thus the minister seems to be telling illegal people to give $1000 by faith to possibly receive your green card as an example of a miracle from God for giving $1000. The minister asked people viewing to call and give $1000 by faith, and on the bottom of the screen they placed some names of people and where they lived that apparently were giving $1000. The very odd thing at the end of this program was when on the TV screen the words appeared as a disclaimer that the ministry did not guarantee that people giving $1000 would receive any miracles at all. So the minister tells people to give $1000 in faith to receive a miracle, but they actually may not receive a miracle from God. Thus it appears the minister tells people that by faith if they give $1000 they can get a miracle from God because God promises the miracles, but that God may not give them miracles, and therefore the minister actually says in reality that God is a liar by the minister it seems to me in my opinion, however God is not a liar, the way the Bible is twisted and used by some ministers to get money is what is false and evil it seems to me !
The new testament tells us we are to give FREE WILL OFFERINGS, so if a person gives 5% or 10% or 50% or 100% of their monetary income that money is a FREE WILL OFFERING and not a tithe even if 10% of the money was given. I have asked a few tithing preaching ministers as well as some non tithing ministers have also asked where in the Bible it states to give money for tithing in any part of the Bible and no tithing minister has been able to show this any where in the old or new testament. And that is why it appears some people that may have read part of the Bible have not read the whole Bible it seems.
The Bible does state in it in the old testament that God commanded that edible things be given for tithing. Additionally in the Bible in the old testament it states that God commanded that money not to be given for tithing. The Bible never shows any place in it that God changed to want money for tithing ! God gives the commandment not to give money for tithing in the Bible, but some men that call themselves ministers tell people to disobey God's commandment and give money for tithing ! Is the Bible the truthful word of God or are the words of some men that call themselves ministers the truthful word of God that is what everyone needs to question for themselves, do they believe what is written in the Bible or do they believe the word of some men ? Do you obey God and not give money for tithing, or do you disobey God because some ministers tell you to ? The law was disannulled by God in the new testament, Jesus fulfilled the law, with Jesus as the new priesthood the law was changed, all this is stated in the Bible.
There is a video on CZcams where a minister asks for lots of money to be given on TV, he also said on the show that Satan gave him the message, and then says that he really should not have said that.
It doesn't hurt to give a dollar but what about all these pastors going on expensive trips and riding around in Mercedez Ben's and you don't have a car 😀
Don't concentrate on that Tijuana. Just meditate doing what the Holy scriptures says to give God the glory and that's when blessings will overwhelm you.

We are Christians need to stop calling preachers that has be bless financially false because that teaching is false it self. If I have millions of dollars and buy my pastor a new car why call him false because I bought him a new Lexus, or even Bentley as a blessing. Why crucifie him because I blessed him through my riches not yours.

Although I also do not practice tithing as today's pastors would like us to, we still have an obligation to contribute meaningfully to the building of "Our Father's House." Let us not deceive ourselves for, who has a father, and the father is absent or gone on a long journey leaving him/her responsible for the household, and would not sacrificially labour to keep his fathers house until His return?

ok first i would like to say praise the Lord everyone . now concerning tithes . Hebrews chapter 7 talks all about tithes . Those of you that need clarity go to this chapter to verse 16 ask yourself. what is the carnal commandment ?it is talking about . start from there and i think you will get it . thats all i will say because it would take tolong to write out the whole revolation on this. so just start there and answer that question and you will get it it is very simple to understand

Y'all kicking against tithes, regardless what you choose to call it, if God is your Father why would you not financially and otherwise support His house? You don't have to call it tithing if you don't want to. In fact it doesn't have to be called that. You don't even have to make it 10% but a responsible child knows his responsibility to keep His Father's work going whiles the Father is away. The Lord told us he was going away and left us work to do. How will we accomplish this work if so-called children refuse to give what is practical and generous to keep the work going? Teh Lord did not teach tithes but He commended the giving of the generous widow (remember the widow's mite?).We are always enjoined by scripture to be generous givers to a fruitful cause - to give wisely - not because a mega-church pastor needs money to finance irresponsible debts or pursue grandiose projects. We are enjoined to watch carefully how we give so that it is not used irresponsibly or unfruitfully:

And our people must also learn to devote themselves to good works in order to meet the pressing needs of others, so that they will not be unfruitful.

Ananias and Sapphira lied to the Holy Spirit. They werent sure if Christianity was the real deal and wanted to see if god was real. I think that is why they were killed.
