    Dear Bob!
This place is a closed area surrounded by a high fence. Thanks to the authority and the volunteers of an NGO, it can be visited after prior registration. You don't have to wait years. I would have been very happy to show you around, there is no need to break in.

I think I've figured out why Bob likes underground bunkers so much. So my theory is: Bob is from the Netherlands and the Netherlands is mostly below sea level. Only kept dry by giant dams. So when Bob is out of the country, he only feels at home below or closest to sea level as possible. Since bunkers are underground, he feels more acclimatized. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Super cool. Some of that really old equipment is still gonna be the most reliable to use if there was a nuclear event, because digital equipment, while more precise, can be rendered useless by radiation, so they probably had all this stuff in readiness before they shut it down. Looks like it’s been closed since the early 90’s? The bunker itself looks like it’s had an interesting history of its own too. The concrete style of structure is common to bunkers built in the 1940’s by Germany, so this looks like it was a bunker that was re-used after the Nazi occupation. The power being on makes me think this is a “warm site” one that can be readied quickly in an emergency

No matter which country, I have never seen a government Cold War bunker that I would think "yes.....I could survive in there for some time". In a big nuclear exchange there's no point trying to survive.

Yes, I had the same conclusion. They say the nuclear fallout will be “less dangerous” in a month when particles are on the ground, but everything will be ruined😂Better enjoy life now and accept when the sh!t hits the fan🙃

That one radiation monitor with the yellow and red lights was designed for counting some serious dose rates... It is measuring in Grey per hour. 1 Grey is equal to 100 Rad, which is equal to 100 REM. An acute dose of 400-500 REM is considered to be deadly to 50% of an exposed population within 30 days. So according to the scale on the tag, any light past #5 is going to mean death unless you can get away from the radiation field fast enough. And even if you could escape you can still experience bad radiation sickness. They really were planning for the worst when building these places...

I don't know when you filmed this and considering how long the cold War has been over, all this stuff is in incredibly good shape!

That is why I think it’s faked. Some of the videos are so impossible, like they managed to grain access and film it to look a like. I like them ether way

@@martyyynyIts an actual kept-up place. Sort of like a museum. You can actually visit it. Legally.

Can you please turn off all lights. We will take it from here.

Very nice, If it is where I think that it is located because of someone going there 8 years ago and making a youtube video it looks like you would have to go over a stone wall or go through a gate etc, and the building next to it is active. That is why it is probably so well preserved still.

23:00 is a rebreather unit. I’ve seen similar displayed in UK bunkers.
