Jim Lea is a great bass player. And Dave Hill is overlooked as a bloody good lead guitarist. And then you’ve got Noddy - great vocals and rhythm guitar, and Don - a brilliant drummer. What a fantastic band.
So great that this footage exists - Slade as I remember them, the first band I called myself a fan of, and the heaviest I ever saw live. They rocked, and we stomped!

They were one of the best live bands ever. Their gigs were just amazing.
This is the emerging 70's rock band who blasted the rest to kingdom come ! The one and only mighty Slade.
Working class Black Country pub rock at its finest. Noddy's voice could strip paint off the walls. Brilliant.
Slade alive one of the best records ever
Wasted on that audience.

Jim Lea is one of the most overlooked musicians from the 70s. There, I said it. ❤️
This is the raw energy that built the modern rock of the '70's.
