What up y'all? My name is Tweet Boogie, I represent the south Bronx. I had my first hip hop crew at 14. I've done some work with Jay Z, Mary J. Blige, Destiny's Child. Travel all over the world because I teach hip hop culture and right now I'm ready to teach you some dances for the club. Let's get it started.
Now you're in a club and you’re at a party and all of a sudden you hear this music comes on. Now you feel like you’re on an island, so now the mood changes and now it's no longer pop music and it's no longer R & B and it's no longer hardcore rap. Now, they have Jamaican music playing. Now, everybody's doing this dance.
This dance is called the Wind. I'm going to teach you how to Wind and it's actually from the dance style called dance hall.
So, what you want to do is feet apart, you want to bend your knees, got to get pretty low. Get pretty low so now, hands on your hips, so you want to take your hips to the right, to the right. Make sure you got a nice little arch so everybody can see your hips go to the right. They need to come forward, boom. Good. Now they need to come to the left, boom. Now they need to go back, boom. You can have your hands to guide you if you don't know. Now you don't want to use your entire body like you’re doing a hula hoop. You only want to isolate your hips so the deeper you sit, the better control that you should have on your hips. So they go to the right, to the front, to the left, to the back. Good, when the go to the back make sure you have an arch in your back ladies especially. Good, you don't want to look like this, like you’re going to tip over. So once again. To the right, forward, left, to the back, and cent, 5 cent, 10 cent, dollar. Cent, 5 cent, 10 cent, dollar. Now you see me isolating my hips but it should be smooth. So you want to go in a singular, circular motion, good. And the deeper you sit, good. You can only move your hips, and this right here is Winding. You can drop your arms, make sure your low. Not too low, got to keep it tasteful. So, I need the DJ, to play my dance hall song. You got dance hall. And this is Sean Paul, but, when you so he's not here either. So, you’re going to bend your knees, hands on your hips, good. Make sure it's a nice deep bend, bounce. Five, six, seven, eight to the right, forward, to the left, to the back. Make sure you arch side, forward, to the left, to the right. And five, six, seven, eight and the right forward, left, back, right, forward. Left, back, now slow. And slow. You have to go through all of the positions, good. Now this is slow Wind. Slow Wind. Good, now you got to do it faster. And boom, and make sure it's in a circular, movement boom. You can drop your arms, you can place them on your thighs, good. And you can lean back, not too far back, don't fall. It's a good workout for your thighs, but that's pretty much it. And that there is how you Wind.

Here's a little history lesson for a lot of you...This dance...and a lot of the dances from the Caribbean DOES NOT belong to or originate from the islands. They came from Africa. Where, correct me if i'm wrong, damn near every black person originated.

Not damn near, every African came from Africa...and so did other races. Black people are the original people. This is the law of biology that asserts that White skin is recessive and Black skin is dominant, which means that two Whites cannot produce anything darker than themselves.

+Brooke Lynne Well the dances didn't necessarily come from Africa. Blacks in America, the Caribbean, and India are of the African diaspora. The foundation of our culture is African however it is also a mixture of European and/or East Asian culture. So yes there are similarities in Caribbean and African dances but it is not the same.

It's amazing how ppl come here to hate on someone who's an expert and it's teaching with a good heart for free so ppl who wanna learn can. If you're so amazing at it go ahead and make a video on youtube teaching and showing everyone your "mad" skills. Ppl who know how to dance don't hate cuz that just shows how little knowleged you have on the topic (even if you do know), it's just unprofessional. Those who DO know support, give suggestion and tips in a respectuf manner. But well haters always hate on those who can do what they can't. Anyways really good vid helped lots!! ^-^

1 the 'dollar wine' is not Jamaican and 2. That background music is not even close to dancehall nor reggae, though it is an island beat. Suggestion before doing Jamaican Dance tutorial do like thE Japanese and Europeans do and actually visit Jamaica and go to the Dances like 'Weddy Weddy' or 'Bembe' and learn them. Or watch real Jamican Music videos or party videos.

Yes wining didn't originated from Trinidad and yes Trini's did created calypso but they also did created Soca! which involves a lot of wining. Just like Jamaicans pick it up from African ancestors, Trini's pick it up from African ancestors as well. A matter of fact, the whole Caribbean pick it up! That's why it's now called Caribbean dancing... So, do your research and know this fact before making a statement. Thank you!

INDEED a tutorial BUT you can’t title it including words like “Jamaican” and “Whine” and when actual Jamaicans tell you it’s wrong you dismiss it. Sure it’s an okay tutorial but based on the title, this video is like someone saying let me teach you to count from 1-10 and left out 3, 5 and 8 from the numbers.

to be fair, I don't think shes TELLING them to literally stick their hip out side-front-side-back like dollar wine, I think she said to do that first at home when practicing to learn how to get hips in the right direction for wining.

Why dz it have 2 be reduced 2a competition. We, in the Afrikan Diaspora preserve All the dance styles from THE MOTHER- LAND. LET'S LOVE &RESPECT 1ANOTHER. GIVE UP THE european gladiator mentality of divide &conquer, once &4 All! It destroys &impedes our Unity &progress 2suc- ceed! **I caution u2: Cease &desist from such back- wards, ignorant & self-des- tructive behavior!! It's conduct beneath u & un- becoming of a Royal Na- tion!! Grow up, already
