SHOWDOWN: Japan vs US vs UK vs Australia // How they handle Luggage at Airports //

  • Today we look at how airports in Japan, US, UK, Australia handle luggage at the airports.
In Japan, manners and etiquette hold significant importance in daily life. Bowing is a common gesture used to greet others and show respect, with the depth of the bow varying based on the situation. People also express gratitude and apologies through bows.
Japanese culture emphasizes cleanliness and taking care of everything around them. Whether in public spaces, homes, or workplaces, cleanliness is maintained meticulously.
Littering is considered extremely impolite, and people often carry their trash until they find an appropriate disposal site.
Furthermore, shoes are typically removed before entering homes, traditional tatami mat rooms, and some establishments. This practice ensures that the indoor spaces remain clean and free from dirt brought in from outside.
In restaurants, slurping noodles is not only acceptable but seen as a compliment to the chef.
However, talking on mobile phones in public places, especially on public transportation, is generally frowned upon to maintain a serene and respectful atmosphere.
Overall, Japanese people take great care in respecting others, their environment, and their cultural norms, fostering a harmonious society rooted in manners and etiquette.

Very true in Asia. They handle everyone’s luggage with Care. when I lost my luggage in Japan. They were extremely kind. when I went to get it, there were no damages or scratches. whenever I travel in the United States, whether I’m going to the East Coast or coming back to California, my suitcase is always damaged or scratched. I usually have to buy one every time I travel. In Japan I forgot my purse on top of a table at a restaurant at the airport and went back after leaving the ladies room and it was still there. Everything was still in the purse. $200.00 cash, my passport, credit cards, everything. Japanese people are very humble people. They respect peoples properties and personal belongings.

I have known about 20 throughout the years, and they were all prejudiced towards other races. They both ignore and stare at you if you aren’t Japanese. Especially if you don’t look like them. They won’t ever talk to you- if you don’t speak fluent Japanese. Idk but all the ones I know- are friendly only on the surface level to foreigners and strangers.
Not saying this is everyone- but what can you do. I would like to actually go to Japan to test this theory…as my experience of living and working with Japanese people has been awful.
