I appreciate your grooming videos so much. Unlike many other groomers on CZcams you are so gentle and treat the dogs good while still getting the job done. I truly believe in your methods rather than being firm and not respecting the dogs feelings.
My dog is a havanese too and I love these kind of dog. Now a tipp for everyone who wants/needs a dog but dont know which breed:
Take a havanese! There are so many points to do that.
1. They are such cute dogs- everyone will ask which breed, how old, its name! Its fantastic!
2. Havanese doesnt loose hair- practic point!
3. They dont need much space. Their dog bed and eat place is enough for them and they can easly live in flats.
4. They love you the most but this breed loooooveeees children and dont barks much.
He only says "Whof" and thats it!
5. You can take them anyway;
They will always fit in dog-bags!
5. Its your choice: Do you want your havanese has *long* or *no long* hairs? Just take a sisser! (Sry forgot how to spell)
6. you can do sports with them! Havanese arent stupid- they exactly know what u need in moment! I have one and other owners only can say the same. Do all what you want! Jogging, Ballsport, Tennis,horse riding ,..... you'll see, the are very good runners! But they need much water!
7.Its easy to understand for them what they can and cant do.
8. They need much time for their hairs. Only red textes in internet.
9. They love playin'!
10. They perfect fit in a home with other dogs big sized. They are very comfortable. I know that because we have one big, white dog more in family.
And thats it. They are sooo cute❤🐶 how u saw in video- just look for pics in the internet or some more vids on yt :D
You will find your breed- they arent big dogs -little ones- and you will have much fun with them!

I have 2 havanese and my friend has 4 all of them absolutely hate children
And i dont think the havanese is a naturally quiet dog they really allert dogs but thats a matter of training and raising
And in my opinion havanase is the #1 dog love them with all my heart

Thank you so much for your video. I just « adore » the way you cut hair 🥰 I’m so glad to see you can use a clipper on him. A groomer told me I had to do the full job just with the scissors because the hair will block the razor. Even if it’s not perfect as you, I’m proud of my job but it’s very very long for me to do it, 4-5 hours (in 3 times). I think next time I will try the razor. You are very very good and very kind to share all your video. 🤗

What a sweetie! I'd love to see a Maltipoo video. That's what my little girl is and I mostly shave her down with a guard so she's not too short and try to keep a teddy bear head with the rounded off ears. I think you can see her expressions better with the shorter ears.
I thought this was very accessible and I am working up the courage to give my Havanese a haircut due to coronavirus situation.

So this is a puppy cut right? not claiming to be a dog groomer- here to learn. Was the initial scissor work needed seeing as you used a clipper afterwards anyway?

I have two Havana Silk Dogs, a cousin of the Havanese but without the hip issues. I’m always looking to learn how and the right blades to use. Some days are better then others but no matter how I groom them they always are cutie bears to me.
Havana silk is just another term for Havanese. It’s not a cousin. A health testing reputable breeder should reduce risk of hip issues but there are not guarantees for any pet dog
Mik Sauceda I have a 16 year old Havanese. She was rescued from a puppy mill and I adopted her at age 6 1/2. She is not on any medications nor does she have a hip problem. She sleeps a lot these days but when she gets up she is like a puppy. I do need to fix her a special diet of chicken breast and rice ground and broth added. She has stomach issue and this bland diet seems to keeps her stomach from acting up. Don’t know how much longer I will be blessed with hers as their life expectancy is 14-16 years. She is past that point. I will cherish everyday I have her with me.
On ne doit pas passer la tondeuse dans le poil d’un bichon havanais. Ça change le poil. Toujours utiliser les ciseaux et non la tondeuse.
This isn't grooming an Havanese, this is shaving. Grooming is maintaining his naturally long hair, not shaving it off
Except this is not a puppy cut! Puppy cut is short but not THAT short: she shouldn’t have use the clipper

Best groomer for Havanese, in my book. ❤️ I’m seeing a lot of talentless aggressive groomers in the last few years. One told me the only way to groom a havanese dog was to use buzzers. I told her I used the scissor method on my dog, she looked at me like I was annoying. All the dogs she had groomed looked like they’ve been drafted into the ugly dog of fame. Then charged people $75-100 for their dog to look like dirty balding dogs. It’s gross!

Helpful but your elbow blocks some important parts of head grooming as well as the dog’s face bring out of the camera shot, which is a bit frustrating for us novices seeking how-to.

Never cut around the havanese around the eyes and it will always lay flat going into the beard. Havanese should always have the beard it one of the cutest looks even if you puppy cute. Didn't like the way you kept pushing his face away with the sissors in same hand.

Never cut a havnese shorter than 5-7cm. You damaged his hair ! It lost the Ouality.
@@Spoke76 cutting hair makes the fur curl, also it does change. When u want to go on dog championship with havanese, they can spot if you cut it and can decide to not judge your dog at all.

You should never cut the tail..
You ruined that poor puppy's face and tail. You should NEVER cut a Havanese dog's tail. It takes forever to grow back and it's one of the trade marks of the breed. We've had 4 and outside of trimming around the anus area, the tails have never been cut.

I cringed when I saw you cut the tail ! The tail is suppose to grow so that it curls over the back. It’s what makes a Havanese a Havanese ! It’s like cutting the feathers of a peacock.
It was scary watching you groom the face.
This actually is not a good grooming for a Havanese. I have a 4 year old and I would be angry about this cut. Thus doesn’t look like a Havanese cut especially the tail.
I don't like it, I don't want my Havanese to look like that 😳. I comb and de-mat my Havanese every week. I know that beforehand when I keep such a dog that it needs work.
