Great lesson! You really nailed the tone on those opening bends. How about Joe Cocker version of The Letter one of these days?! Its another good one

And, of course, the lead guitar on Joe Cocker's track was played by Jimmy Page in his pre-Led Zeppelin session days. 😀🎸

@@chocodiledundee1 There are 10 tracks on the album but JPJ played on none of them. Carol Kaye played bass on track 1, and Chris Stainton played on tracks 2-10. Jimmy Page played guitar on tracks 2, 4, 5, 7 & 9. 'With a Little Help' is track 9.

Are you really sure this is 3/4? As a bass player I can tell you I'm leading into this sort of groove with a pickup counted in 4. I really think this sort of groove is in a slow 4/4 swing time, but with no triplets tied, causing the 3 pulse to jump out. Back in the day we called this a "Stack Waltz" and it was counted 1-2-3 2-2-3 3-2-3 4-2-3

Joe Cocker didn't make the time signature change or the arrangement. Denny Cordell took the credit but the actual maestro behind the entire version was Leon Russell.
