One of the best guitar solos of all time - Ritchie Blackmore.
Dio is the best, he could give you chills singing just about anything
I grew up with Ozzy and Sabbath but I think Dio and Sabbath hit a home run together with Heaven and HellâŠsome of my Favorite all time Sabbath ..oh donât forget Mob Rules! Amazing! Chills
Greatest voice in all of Metal. R.I.P. Ronnie James Dio. đ€â€ïž
@@CJ-Fischer Same here. I was an Ozzy fan first. Big time. Seen Ozzy live numerous times including twice with Sabbath.
But Dio is the greatest. And now that I'm older and have a better understanding of heavy metal, I honestly believe that Dio Sabbath is the best Sabbath. đ€
@@CJ-Fischer I have always loved both, I just see heaven and hell as a side band. They aren't either but a beautiful amalgamation of both.
Rainbow was Ritchie Blackmores band he started after leaving Deep Purple. Dio was his vocalist. Great combo đ€ Dio is so intense.
Absolutely nailed it with a dark musical, Blackmore was and is always melodic in his playing.......4 Eras of Rainbow all have their absolute fantastic moments....
'Light in the Black' by Rainbow is also a great songđ€ Thanks for the reaction guy'sđ€
True but Light in the Black is the continuation of Stargazer, so they should hear that first for sure.
Lex is so right about Dio's pronunciation!!! Love the energy. This might be the greatest song ever recorded. Incredible.
The solo is epic! I remember that it is one of Anthrax's guitarists favorite solo EVER was this one! It is unique, more than anything. Long Live Blackmore!
When dio sings heâs like a magician casting spells
Great older metal often had that theatrical element.
I've always loved it.
Dio is the MASTER of vocals and excellent music! I was lucky enough to see his last concert in Aug 2009 at The House of Blues! Miss him something awful!
The year prior to his passing Mohegan Sun I was front row center 2.5 hours with Ronnie 6 feet from me. Cherry on the sundae for me
@@PaulyV56 I was about 9 rows away from the stage. It was a small venue. Maybe 300 people. It was one of the best nights in my life. My best friend of 50 years surprised me for my birthday. I am thinking it was the best night I ever had!
@@cradlegrl 56 yo here. Been in music since 1984. Have seen and met many of my Idols. Ronnie and Robert Plant at The Top For me. Iâve got the chills typing this. Music is so fuggin powerful.
@@PaulyV56 55 here. You met Robert Plant? Another idol of mine! I am jealous!
Did Halestorm open for Dio in that last concert? Lzzy talks about getting to open for him & how he was her hero & th advice he gave her
Dio was one of the nicest guys in metal.
A true class act that understood he was nothing without his fans.
Spot on reaction ! It was always a big part of metal, telling stories, with a dark, mystical element, very intentional. And the musicians are genius.
Ritchie Balckmore .. what a guitarist ! left Deep Purple to create his own band and this was greatly successful worldwide
Lexi, you need to watch a bunch of the Rainbow 1977 Munich concert songs - "Mistreated", "Catch the Rainbow", 16th Century Greensleeves", "Kill the King", "Long Live Rock 'n Roll", "Still I'm Sad", "Man on the Silver Mountain" .... YOU will love it, absolutely magical. You can see how good these musicians were... and how great Dio was live.
Greatest Hard Rock Vocalist in HISTORY!!
Lex killed it, Dio is presenting every part of his being when he sings.
Rainbow the supergroup band..
The Runner up in 70-80sđ€
"A dark musical" Lex on fire as always. WOOT!
This song was the one that sparked my lifelong love for heavy metal and hard rock. â€ïž It's magic! Dio's voice is magic!
Saw Dio live back in the 80s at Donnington (UK).
Pranced on stage with a huge sword and fought a dragon.
Smoke everywhere and wailing guitars aplenty.
Miss the wee fella.
One of the best guitarists ever with THE BEST singer EVER in rock......magic! Dio was even better live because he LIVED what he was singing....
Dip had that strong voice up until he died. He was 67 and still sounded amazing.
You can literally never go wrong if Dio is singing. Rainbow is badass. Richie Blackmore on guitar. It's like Ronnie James Dio singing for Deep Purple.
This is sheer metal magic produced from the Blackmore machine.....
Brad, Good ear on the drumming. The drummer is Cozy Powell who was a premier drummer who played with a lot of great acts.
This is my favorite Dio song from any of the groups he's sang with.
Good job Brad recognizing what a great drummer Cozy Powell was!! He was truly terrific in BOTH Rainbow & Whitesnake!! RIP Cozy along with Ronnie!!
I really hope Brad jumps into other Rainbow songs that showcase how good Cozy was. Excellent drummer.
Tarot Woman is another Rainbow classic worth listening to
I have been watching you guys almost from the very beginning. You are such a great couple! I absolutely adore Lex and her reactions. Your videos warm my heart.
This is like early symphonic metal.Great stuff!
Childhood music. â€â€ love it I'm 56 now
Love Lexâs reactions.
Yes, RJ Dio pronounced his vowels great... And he always picked words that sounded great in a song.
Lex would go ALL out in the 70/80/90's when in comes to metal. It def is her thing! And yes Rainbow in really melodic, think iron maiden, it has the same melodic metal vibe haha.
Rainbow..sixteenth century greensleeves is a must listenđ„
Brads becoming a convert.......good job Lex, he's coming along nicely.
This duo is really good. They're kind of opposites. Seems like the dude is really mellow, and the girl has a wild fiery energy, and they sort of balance each other.
Love how she really analyzes the songs too.
Can't wait to see them do a JUDAS PRIEST song! ... beyond the realms of death? LOL
Actually, Brad was rather wild in this one. He almost got to bouncing. Lex on the other hand, she's always going off like a mini nuke!
Welcome :) They have a few Priest reactions under their belt. Check out their channel.
A "super group" before there were any super groups. Rainbow is badass...Great LP too. My personal favorite that Rainbow did.
Awesome!!! I'm loving seeing you guys grow in your knowledge and appreciation of so many styles of music :)))
Long Live Rock n roll is a Classic Rock Album đž đ
" Kill the King" absolute banger. You lovely people give it a Listen đ¶ đđđ
Rainbow were awesome! The three albums with Dio are all great. Probably Rising is the best. They got together after Ritchie left Deep Purple. He grabbed Dio from the band Elf. Actually he took the whole band and had them as musicians on the first Rainbow album. Then fired them all and put together a new band for Rising, including the great Cozy Powell on drums.
I love the studio tracks. Their live performances are pure 70âs excess. Stretching 3-5 minute songs to 15-20 minutes with crazy solos (think Spinal Tap throwing horse shoes at the guitar across the stage) though they are amazing performances with beautiful nuggets hidden. Most of the live songs they put out recordings of are from their first album. Also they do an incredible live version of Deep Purples Mistreated normally sung by David Coverdale. One of Dioâs best all time live performances! Catch the Rainbow is another great one live.
I agree, these live performances were amazing and you nailed the best two songs.
Rainbow Live in Munich 1977 might be the greatest DVD I will ever own. That live version of 16th Century Greensleeves. Dang. Plus Mistreated and Catch the Rainbow đ. Pure gold. đȘ
@@josephbarr1659 thatâs the exact concert I was thinking of! On Stage from â76 is great too. And Iâve also noticed there are lots of bootleg audio recordings on here from the late 70âs that I havenât even delved into.
Lex always gets it she feels the music she doesn't listen to it close your eyes and listen to the magic Ritchie and Ronnie created timeless music.
I like the way you convey the song scheme and composition of the song..that's great, friend
Rainbow's response to Zeppelin's Kashmir. Comparable in its effect.
Long Live Rock n Roll is possibly their greatest moment with 'Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow' being a close second.
âLight in the Blackâ next Rainbow song
One of the greatest albums of all time. Live in concert this song and band was a BEAST !
Dio one great rock singer of all time great live band with rainbow đ and Black Sabbath and dio
Ritchie Blackmore/Rainbow and Dio literally created Neoclassical/Symphonic/Power metal sub genres.
Great Ritchie Blackmore
Watching brad evolve from a stoic lyric only minded person to one that is starting to feel the music is really fun to watch. Lex's love for the feel of the music is growing on him.
@David Cox, you are so right. Watching Lex really explain the music is so cool. Also Brad finally feeling it reminds me of myself finally understanding what I am listening too.
My friend always said that Dio "Wove a tapestry of words, emotions, and memories in your brain."
Deep Purple- the Royal color of the many; Rainbow- the Promise and Covenant to the many: first, of time; then, of the places. 'The first Rainbow in Time- was The Music.'
Love this song so much not my favorite but close, but Dios voice and Blackmore's Middle Eastern guitar sound is so good, Ritchie might be the best guitarist as far as transporting you to the location that is being talked about in the song.
Another FIRE Rainbow song you must check: "Light in the black"
love this song!
You guys should react toâŠ
Rainbow - The Temple of the King
đžđ€
YES! A thousand times, yes! It NEVER gets mentioned, but it is one of the most stunningly beautiful songs I've ever heard.
Yes, love that song.
That song is, True adventure metal. Reminds me of fellowship of the ring or something
Wish I could like this a thousand times. You guys are killing it here. Lex,your dancing past is shining through in the best way here. Brad, your face Throughout the entire song was golden. Was wondering if you were smiling because of lex or the song, then you came in with killer comments, so I'm assuming both.
I saw Dio singing for Ritchie Blackmore & Rainbow.
This tune rocked.
Pat Traverse opened up.
Killer show
Boom boom out go the light. I seen that same tour and many others opening for RAINBOW AC/DC the Scorpions Uriah Heep.
Honoring the legacy of the one and only Ronnie James Dio đđŒ Love your reactions đ Keep on rocking, guys! đ¶
Hi Brad, Hi Lex. Oh yes guys...thank you so much for reacting to this great track from Rainbow. I do wish you had been able to see these bands from the 70's some absolute classic brilliant bands. You are definitely a rock and metal fan.
I was so lucky to see the band on the tour for this album Long Live Rock and Roll in 1978 and they played Gates of Babylon...it was even better live .
Oh yes Brad ...you can't deny the force of rock and metal dude....you like it . đđâïžđ€. I really love you guys and your channel. Looking forward to your next reaction. Take care, stay safe. Peace and love from Liverpool UK đâïžđ€âźïž
As the metal band 3 Inches of Blood said about Dio after his too soon passing: "Capturing the essence of all that's great and fine!"
Dio was the living personification of EPIC! All he had to do to make something epic was open his mouth.
Rainbow
Long Live Rock And Roll
Lady Of The Lake
Dio is singing and Richie Blackmore from deep purple on guitar one of my favorite bands
Applause is right Lex!
Where it all began
The Gates of Babylon were opened with The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.
I remember this song and the album, it was the last album with Dio but fuckin hell what an album long live the 70's
Like others have said, you really should react to â Mistreatedâ live 1977 video!
Loved this song for decades. Thanks for the reaction.
Great song by Rainbow. Other great ones to check out Temple of the King, Lady of the Lake, Kill the King and Street of Dreams.
Stargazer
@@neillenet291 They've done it.
LA Connection
@@metalmark1214 that's right they did, about 3 months ago I think.
LA Connection and Sixteenth Century Greensleeves are two great Rainbow songs
Lex is so spot on đ„đč
Kill the King is my favorite song of their album
Ronnie James Dio, for a little dude (5 ft 4 in) had a MONSTER voice. Ritchie Blackmore is a guitar legend fronting Deep Purple and then Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, which he ultimately shortened the name to Rainbow. Check out the song Stargazer.
Keep exploring with Rainbow. They had many different changes in personnel, with of course Ritchie Blackmore holding down the fort. Check out Since You Been Gone or Stone cold.
Epic! Awesome! DIO!!!
Greatest of all time!
My favorite Rainbow song!
A shame the video cut off when it did, as the violin carried on a bit more then fades out. This is a great song simply because it's got that middle eastern/arabian feel to it that tells you exactly what the song is all about. The album this is from is fantastic from beginning to end. The title track is a real rocker for starters!
This is definitely some original metal. This band was started by Ritchie Blackmore the original guitarist from Deep Purple.
Other good songs off this album are the title track Long Live Rock and Roll, Lady of the Lake, and LA Connection.
And "The Shed"
Yes! Thanks for getting around to this excellent song. A couple of more Dio tunes for you are Invisible and Straight Through the Heart. Also Mob Rules by Black Sabbath.
The seven gates of Bokhoven!
Oh Hell YES!!!
Dio and Blackmore backed up by Bob Daisley on bass, Cozy Powell on drums. David Stone play the keys on Gates of Babylon, Kill The King and The Shed. While Tony Carey plays on Long Live Rock N' Roll, Lady of the Lake and Rainbow Eyes (rough mix)
I like the love for "The Shed". A hidden gem on a deep cut.
Now your living !!!
This brings back memories...
One of the first albums I bought myself, along with the Van Halen debut album.
Bought used sometime in 1984 or 1985, I think...
Both albums are great!
Go Brad Go!! đđœ Lex, love your energetic vibes!! đđđœ
YES WOMAN YOU GOT IT LOVE IT.
Richie Blackmore musical arrangment are near to perfection.
Dio is the singer in this band and the guitar player is Richie Blackmore from the band Deep Purple.
I think that Gates of Babylon is my all time favourite song ... Of all time!
Is this Rainbowâs âKashmirâ âŠâŠ I donât know but itâs brilliant.
Lex has a good ear regarding vowels, I've heard the same remark from vocal coaches reacting to DIO
One of my FAVORITE Rainbow songs of all time! AMAZING solo and Ronnie NEVER misses, he's the GOAT, noone has touched him yet. There is SO MUCH Dio of many genres you have yet to discover!! Check out Rainbow 'Mistreated' LIVE in Munich 1977, the live video doesn't get blocked, other reactors have it up as a reaction. The audio version is unbelievable too, Dio really let's his soul and blues influence come through in this one, one of the GREATEST vocal performances of all time. It is a Deep Purple song, but Blackmore brought it with him when he and Ronnie formed Rainbow. Blackmores solo is outstanding too. 'Kill the King' same concert, is another fantastic song from Rainbow. Dio/Blackmore is my FAVORITE writing duo of all time!! They made MAGIC together. You want to hear how BEAUTIFUL Dios voice is, check out Rainbow, 'Catch the Rainbow', LIVE in Munich 1977 or 'Dio with Deep Purple and orchestra' 'Sitting on a dream/Love is All', UNBELIEVABLE. And he never lost that voice. It got a bit deeper in tone around 2005, but he could still hit EVERY note and his power never left. And the BEST part is, Dio was known as the NICEST, MOST DECENT MAN on Earth and he was REALLY great to his fans, who he gave credit for everything he was.
100% agree ... I love the Munich version.
Great reaction to a great song. Rip dio truly missed đ€
I love it too Lex!
I saw rainbow on there long live rock and roll tour circa 1977..kill the king opens this album and itâs classic 1977 speed metal.
One of the many crown jewels of Rainbow. All members hitting their stride. I think this track has a few that normally weren't in the band. This entire album is killer!
Oh Lexi, you totally get it!
Such a cool song with the Eastern vibes and imagery, sung by one of the masters! I went to lots of concerts like this back in the day, like what Lex was talking about. And while the music was certainly good enough to stand on it's own, a big part of the fun was the production and showmanship!
If Rob is the metal God than Dio must be the arch angel of metal
