Really miss seeing these on the line smh. Even today when thinking of the 7 the R62A is still the one I automatically associate it with, they made the line truly stand out!
@@Astrochorius The Redbirds were also on the number (2) (4) (5) and the Pelham (6) line too. Also on the Pelham (6) line, the interior of the doors of the Redbirds were painted orange in color.
It's kinda funny how the 7 was the only line where R62A RFW cars existed. Unfortunate that this is now no longer the case, although the R62A cab RFW windows are the best.
Now the R188s is definitely a hit on the 7 Flushing line and the R62AS is a hit back on the Pelham 6 line until the Brand New R262/As comes to replace all on the 1 3 6 S lines for CBTCS. We all wish the 8 Thrid Avenue Elevated line was still running today because it would of definitely be a hit on the R62AS. I'm telling you.
Now they have the R62AS back on the Pelham 6 line one more time. Pretty soon the R262/As open gangways and close ways will be on the 4 5 6 S for CBTCS. Probably the 2 5 4. Probably the 1 3 Broadway lines . The R62AS could definitely be saved to put them on the 8 Thrid Avenue Elevated line one day.
The 8 Thrid Avenue Elevated line should not have been never been taken down in the first place 😕. It should of been lefted alone. There was nothing wrong with the 8 Thrid Avenue Elevated line.
Not yet because they have to wait until the Brand New R262/As comes to replace all on the 1 3 6 S lines for CBTCS. The 1 3 6 S lines is stuck with the R62as R62S. The R62AS R62S could definitely run 10 more years of service because they have the strong R62AS R62S just like the R32S.
@@gtavstepfordcounty1733 The oddity (only "A" car ending in 8), also a wreck survivor. Replace the no. 2 end drawbar with H2C, add back the compressor and fold the cab down, back to the original single unit configuration. Plus being a SMEE-based car with H2C would allow to run with any R10-R42, so the R62 could run with the R33/R36s in the TOMC.
Can’t believed how much has changed in the past 10 years
It still looks the same besides the renovation projects that’s happening

That's true
@@IsaiahPerez-du3kn The (7) line had the R33WF Redbirds before the arrival of the R62A trains.

@@SuperheroJuniorThe real ones. Whenever you tell a foreigner about the 7 train, the redbirds instantly come to mind. Too iconic

Man, when I was a little kid on my way to my cousins house I used to ride this R62A (7) train. Good old memories

Ah, yes. The good childhood memories when the R62A roams around the Flushing Line... miss them.
Last bit is sentimental. You can spot 5 Pointz before they tore it down.
10 years in the making!! crazy how time flies by…
Great video, DJ. I love those 11 car trains, unique to the number 7 line.
Brings back in old memories
Good old 7 before transfer to the 6 & the opening of the 34th St-Hudson Yards, a year later.
Man this was before Hudson Yards was open on the 7 train! Man time flies... This was during 2014 and that station didn't open till 3 years later!
this was the peak of the 7 train ngl
I dont know why but I knew that there used to be video on this channel about an r179 k train or I'm probably tripping
Your tripping
replaying my childhood
Loved the R62A on Sweetheart (7) and Electric . She really showed off her speed here.
theres never been a 11 train in tha history of the irt subway

2:59 R62 4 train? Those type of 4 trains were the deal back in the 90’s and 2000’s.
And BTW, the Seinfeld ad wrap as well 2:59
2:58 4 vía 7 line 😆😆

They let the 8 Thrid Avenue Elevated line get it to bad rusted and did not even painted them.
Cool video💚👌
Redbirds still not all that long ago. I think the first R62 didn’t run there until sometime around 2002.
This was taken 10 years ago

Are they going to keep any R62s for the transit museum?
If only a single unit, 1438 should be the one as an oddball.

We wish they could upgrade the R62AS R62S to R142Bs just like they did on the movie taking Pelham 123 .
You know they could remodified the R62AS R62S you know that right?.
