Castaway point is a great fishing area. I fish down there as much as possible in the summer time. I hoping the water warms up a little bit with these 80 degree days and brings more bait in. Fish the bridges. All the way from Melbourne to Titusville. Red drum, black drum, and sheepshead. For decent sized speckled trout we've always had good luck in the canals around Cocoa Beach in the Banana River. Also in the Port for all kinds of fish. If it's monster red fish hit the Mosquito Lagoon. Use binoculars to find where they are tailing and you can hook some monsters one after another.

If you ever looking for some good snook docks, a cool dude to fish with, and will pitch in on fuel all the time..... give me a shout. This mullet runs been epic fyi.
I’d say your best bets to fish are bridges where people can’t just pull off and fish. Pick spots that you have to walk to that are not easily accessible. Get some live bait or cut dead mullet and get out there and try a few different spots until you find one that always produces fish. Best bet later on find a cheap small Jon boat and start exploring the river you will have a blast. Check out Pineda causeway Indian river side. I’ve had a lot of luck there when I used to shore fish.
Middle of the day, IRL . Worst conditions, still made tight lines. Big snook sleeping, and always give manatees the right of way... for everyone's protection
It really is a challenge to get that bite in mid afternoon. I’ve always wondered if the manatees scare the fish off or if they know they are no threat. I’ve really been struggling to find fish these last two days. I’m heading south of Sebastian tomorrow hoping to find the bite. Thanks for watching and commenting I really appreciate it.
@@centralfloridafisherman9931 All the water around the Banana River/Barge canal has been so polluted there is barely fish anymore. And that water has flowed down to you. It's because of all the dredging and other problems from infrastructure and homes they've been trying to build over years. The water is shit brown, stinks, and the fishing is horrid. Such a shame what people have done, and how little is done to protect it all.
@@TheBoundlessNexus I agree 100 percent. The fishing isn’t what it used to be. There are way more people here in Brevard than ever. Most of the people living on the river are super rich and do not understand our fisheries. They raised the tax a few years ago to help the river and I haven’t seen much of anything done by the state. The things that are being done like oyster bars and such are by local groups not funded by the state. We are seeing clearer waters here in Melbourne lately i think it is because of oysters. Another problem I foresee is the over population of manatees eating all the sea grass. There’s a lot to do to preserve the river but everyone in charge knows nothing about how the river works. Us fisherman know way more than any official in office and it’s sad we have little say it what happens to our beautiful ecosystem.

We comment online, maybe write a letter or two to our representatives. But what next? What do we do when that's not enough? I'll tell you what 99.9% do, sit back and complain harder online... (Not saying you brother, idk the first thing about your personal life, but from what I see it seems you're well versed and do what you can). I'm saying for the others who don't, if they did we would have a much bigger impact. But hey, that's why I take people out on free kayaking/boating adventures and teach them about it all. Used to have a boat but it took a crap on me 2 years ago, and my small john boat won't make it to 3/4 of my spots.

There are a lot of trout in the Indian river you just need to find the schools of fish. After you find them you can follow the school around
