please next video about generative fill, can you mimic an F4 lens that the image looks like an F1.2 lens? if this is done well than goodbye expensive lenses, or mimic old film stock, kodak, etc how to make describe/write to have better results what you want
It's really easy to make an action that automates the 1024x1024. I created one that allows you to pick your choice after each block that is created (since you don't always want to go with the first generative picture choice). It will then create the next block based on your previously selected box. Great video!
This is, by far, the best video on this subject that I have watched.
Never had this much fun in Photoshop and I keep learning new ways to use this simple but powerful tool. Sky's the limit!
Actually the sky isn't the limit cos you can change that in a click now :P
It is very useful to see the good, bad, and ugly of the current state of generative fill. I hope Adobe is watching too. This is absolutely the best video on GF, thanks a lot for the considerable effort.
I think the reason the "leather jacket" prompt makes you skinnier is because your selection was too small. You need to expand your selection more so it gives it more room to create the leather jacket (or any object) while keeping you in there. Otherwise it squeezes it all into the size of your selection.
This is the best tutorial on AI Generate because you go into details and logical thinking. Thanks !!!
I started using this last night just touching up photos from a Comicon and it does a great job at doing things like removing the Bands / Lanyards.
As an hobbyist photographer I enjoyed your comprehensive reviewđđ»đ
You can output the two sides of the picture then upscale that.
Bring it back in and add the center piece with the girl.
Then output the three that are now all upscaled.

Hi from San Diego. I would love to see a future version make use of our own image data base so we could use our own images with the A.I. process as well as ones supplied by the data that Adobe has.
You're the man! Thank you sir!!!
An outstanding stream. I learned quite a bit watching this presentation.
Wonderful tutorial, thanks. One question: is there any setting to make the fills with same seed (to make them look similar in every photo)
Thanks very instructive video about AI, appreciated! A couple of weeks ago I visited the worldâs very first AI-generated art gallery opened in Amsterdam. Amazing results and yes sometimes the problem with hands as mentioned in your video was visible but most of the art works (not to mention the discussions if we may call it art, but that's another chapter I think).
In the immortal words of Mr Spock, "It is photography Jim, but not as we know it." Seriously, I feel that adding elements from Adobe Stock results in something more akin to a video game than the work of the photographer. Or in other words someone else's work.
I have been using PS since CS3. The results have been crude and then lots better - but once they began "content aware" I realized Adobe could create tools I could not dream of.
Thanks for the tips, Jesus đ
If you try to remove something and get the ârestrictedâ prompt then identify what you are removing then works. Example âremove leafâ
Actually there is somewhat of a workaround to get better resolution of your generative fill. Someone on CZcams showed how. You simply need to define a 1024x1024 selection on top of the section of your image that you want to increase the resolution of and repeat for the remaining sections of your image. The CZcamsr in question created an action to speed up.
AWESOME! Thanks, JesĂșs!
You're welcome Andrew!
Holy shit the lighting shadows and perspective are all consistent with the rest of the photo!
Thereâs light on the couch because there are windows above it !
Hi there, thankful for a great informative channel. I have a requirement for several images to have the same identical additions I settled on with my one image created with generative fill. How do I replicate the exact additions done by generative fill, then add those over a few extra images ?
only 20 minutes in and so far VERY informative.
Could I use generative fill according to a reference image? e.g. I have a wallpaper mapping, I selected a wall, and then I use generative fill to fill that mapping onto the wall
If you try cut it first then regenerate it!
Most of the time it will work
Really enjoyed all the videos. I've been having great fun with this and demonstrating to my fellow members at our camera club. We are concerned that this level of AI will mean images being entered into local, national and international competitions (like the Sony one) thus not showing the skill of the photographer by including parts of the image that were not part of the original composition. Is there any way (like file data) that will show that GF has been used on an image?
Can we tweak the colours or move objects around the image? I tried that and it just took that object in the image and "ripped" it out of the spot and left a blank spot and showed the transparent background . It's like it's embedded and not layered
Greeting from Seattle.
Do you know if the generative fill uses the same technology as the remove tool when removing objects? In other words, when removing objects is the only difference between the two that one is selection based and the other brush based? In your opinion, what will determine which method one should use for removing objects going forward?
Good question!
No it does not use the same method. And at the moment for small things the Remove Tool is better. You don't have to wait as long for a result.
@@PhotoshopTrainingChannel I see. Thanks! It might be interesting to do a comparison between the two methods. Remove something using generative fill and then remove the same thing with the remove tool and compare the results.
For real estate photography. Can you make the windows glow like you see at sunset?
Can generative fill remove the background behind a Person or object and can be used to make a selection?
Gracias. Un saludo
1:07:50 I don't fully agree. This tech does your work for you, wich is not just a tool like a computer back in the 70's. So yeah in the end this will have an pretty big impact on the jobs in the creative industry.
Is the price going to be written in every photo we produce?
Any way to have the same Gen AI background be used for a set of photos?
Question: What happens to the data/images that are uploaded to the cloud for processing with PS-AI? Will these be stored and/or otherwise used in the future for "generative fill"?
They are not stored. Only images adobe has the legal right to will be used for future training.
@@PhotoshopTrainingChannel but we can't check it anyway
I have a feeling Adobe will use Gen AI as an excuse to bump up the subscription price.
SHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

I downloaded the P.S. Beta and have been playing with it. However, when I try to do âEdit in Photoshopâ from Lightroom, it takes me to the Beta and not the regular PS. In order to get the regular PS, I had to make it âanother application â
How can i get the top line to go to the regular PS?
The generative is kinda cool. But i wonder what its good for if the quality is so bad. It wouldnt go for a print or anything like that i guess?
Can you add a specific image of sunglasses to the main image. Or if you had a picture of a hat, could you add it to photo and it would orient it on head and adjust lighting and resolution.
can you save generative fill look and use it on other images
Have you tried adding fantasy type stuff like dragons or space ships?
Is there any reason why my generative box jumps right onto the image it has just generated? If I generate a small image on my picture, it is SO annoying to have to move the box out of the way, to enable me to see what it has just generated.
How do you manage the high amount of RAM it consumed as you keep generating? My 32GB ram easily consumed fully after a couple of generations
I have followed all but when I use the lasso tool that's it, no g fill pops up.
I think removing the window didn't work because you did not select the whole window. So Photoshop wanted to connect to a little part of the window that was still there.
And also: everyone can do everything in photoshop (or simular program) within a year if this is going in the same pace.
Yeah. Good point
Hello, How can you enlarge an individual object that was just generated? I don't want to expand the entire image, just an object in the image. Never mind I just watch the part in the video about scaling with the red truck. Thanks!
I am trying to create a realistic spider on a white background. Every time, the spider is bigger than the canvas -- 1024 x 1024. Can that be adjusted?
I guess I'm gonna have to embrace these easy tools now.
Isn't there any copyright for the objects placed in photos? Are they coming from Adobe's database? What is the rules for commercial usage?
Hello. I want to replace kitchen cabinets with existing images and textures that I have. How do I get ai to use my images and not their cloud images?
I've been trying to extend a photo where the hand was cut off and I just can't get realistic fingers. :-(
When I open a new page in Photoshop it comes with a color surrounding what could be the problem
I love using it with my composites, including AI generated images and fills in photoshop. The sky is the limit!
Been working with it to generate up to 90% of elements in simple photos I've taken, just for fun. Hilarious! I now know what I look like in a gold LamĂ© evening gown! đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
Hi, thanks for the great video! I was wondering if it's possible to for example swap the face of the Mona Lisa with my friends face, still make it look like its part of the picture. Basically use a photo as basis for generated fill . Appreciate all replies :)
Does anyone know if or how you can apply a Generative AI prompt to a batch of photos at once? The idea is to create a jpeg sequence of a video or animation and then add each frame as a layer and apply the Gen AI prompt to each frame all at once.
When generating a new scene in generative fill, how can I get it to produce the scene without the annoying people they add to the scene?
Can I direct Generative Fill to use one of my own images as the fill? Can I direct Generative Fill to use a specific background in the adobe stock or other stock website?
Robert, unfortunately it doesn't allow you to select specific images.
That would be a great improvement!
can you upscale the generated fill element with something like topaz gigapixel ai?
Sure. I don't know how well the results will be but you can definitely try and get some degree of success.
Couldn't you just use Quick selection tool to copy just the truck, isolate the truck, then enlarge the truck?
can you mute the color and change the size of an object which is imported by PS?
I've tried many times to get this working but with no luck. I've followed the guidance on the Adobe website as well as watching a host of videos - including yours (good job as always) - on CZcams, but it doesn't seem to matter what I do the generative fill button stubbornly remains greyed out and won't do anything. Help!
try putting your birthdate in your adobe ap or behance to confirm your over eighteen.
Grayed out button means you need to enter your birthday. I believe you can do it through the Behance tab on the Creative Cloud App
@@PhotoshopTrainingChannel Entering my month and year of birth in behance has fixed the problem so thanks for your help, although I'm still confused as to why that was the issue. Adobe has been happy enough to take a subscription payment from my bank every month without wanting to know how old I am. đ

Will it be predictive text sometime in the future?
I don't know but nothing will surprise me at this point!
Thank you for your great videos Jesus. It seems you can have gaps in the generated image, for example the situation when generating glasses, once you have masked out the eyes the masking will be retained so in the next generation your eyes will be visible. All the best Ivan.
Hola, I have a 2017 macbook pro which does not want to run photoshop beta, also using Big Sur OS these new facilities don't work, what is the minimum spec for this new software!
Mike, I don't know specifically but this link may help
helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/system-requirements.html
how to generate same background again and again in photoshop ai or i want same background for every photo
is it pssible to colorize an image with this ai and how I can put my own images to generate with my own prompt to make it included in my personal projects
At the moment you cannot do any of that with Generative Fill in Photoshop
thank you
How do I get the software in my country Ghana
my generative fill takes very long to load results, I wasnt experiencing this challenge at first. what is the cause of this
I tried to add people into my scenes. Initially the figures looked fine, but they had no faces. Weird.
People are definitely hit or miss. Sometimes they don't look even remotely realistic
this app 7 days trail? and them?
I install photoshop 2023 but I dont have generative fill tool
How to use gen fill on a clean layer
Iâm sure the image that was prohibited was someone choking the chicken.
Also, are you sure the AI is pulling the images from Adobe stock? Iâve prompted for objects that are definitely in Adobe Stock but donât appear in the generative fill. Itâs as if the AI has no idea what Iâve requested.
Does it work offline?
I use the new fill in when I do own images, but I wonder why are many of the animals like a eagle or a moose cartoons and not real pictures? I'll tried also to get a human swim in a lake but did get a warning that I couldn't get it because xxx rate.
Yes I also got cartoon animals!
Yeah, unfortunately the technology is not perfect. Even in this video I had issues generating what I wanted. But it is in Beta and hopefully all these issues will be solved soon. It also has some trouble determining what is inappropriate content.
Hi Jesus, are you saying that now we can all turn water into wine with generative fill?
what version
Latest Beta release

Hi I installed beta but Generative fill is not comming.
You need to verify your age through the Creative Cloud App. I believe it's on the Behance tab. Then make sure you are on the latest version of Photoshop Beta.
@@PhotoshopTrainingChannel thanks can you give the link then I can go through.

Adobe introducing with very cool features. But need more time to make more awesome.
Generative fill does not come up
My biggest gripe with Adobe's A.I. is that they censor your prompt requests. Like, if I wanted to add a penis to the top of that car in the distant field, they'd say that they cannot process that request due to it being too controversial of a request. That's f'd up, imo. I prefer my A.I. without censorship.
I updated Photoshop, and now I have Generative fill, but suddenly it tells me my graphics card is not compatible, so I can't even use the selection tools, which is what Photoshop is all about. My computer is only three years old and it wasn't a cheap one. I've got 16MB RAM, but my GPU is only 2MB. Driving me nuts.
Maybe you have to whitelist Photoshop in your virusscanner. Thats a solution that worked for me in the past. It was a problem with Photoshop and sentinel one back then. Or maybe you're using the onboard graphics card instead of the dedicated graphics card đ .
I got the same message but didn't realize I was supposed to download the Photoshop Beta from the creative cloud app( you may have tried to install "updates: from the main photoshop program). After I did that my computer handled the new tools just fine. Try that and hopefully it works Ok. I was pretty frustrated too and I have a bit move RAM extra than your computer and I was Pissed but I'm just fine now. Hope this helps. Good Luck.
Why canât adobe just let you tell the software what to do without having to make any selectionsâŠ?
Commercially, this is potentially useful but real world clients want consistent results. The AI software is shooting stuff out like a bubble gum machine. It's impressive, but I'm trying to guess where it would help my work flow day to day. Interestingly, I had a few goes at seeing how it did adding reflections to studio shot product images - which is not just a flipped and blurred copy/paste process as there is data in the reflection that you can't see, unless it's something simple like a box of matches. The Generative fill doesn't seem to be able to do this successfully, yet.
More worrying is who owns the image? Anyone who thinks Adobe have developed this so that you can produce billboard ads for blue chip companies is kidding themselves. I'm guessing all these images will be coded with Adobe copyright and there will be costs and fine print coming along shortly. Connect fully created by AI clearly isn't your work. Content partially created by AI is a very interesting legal situation; who is deciding where the value and I.P. is?
JM
I heard that the images are mined from Adobes own stock images. If that is true then I might assume that the photographers that supply Adobe stock with the images are getting paid by Adobe for the use of their images regardless of the end user. Since many people that use Photoshop also have a subscription to Adobe Stock.
Can I use AI generated fill in Photoshop 22 version????
did you bought it?
Hi, because of AI, artists creativity ends in Photoshop??
The camera didn't end creativity, neither did desktop publishing. This won't either. You just have to find new ways to be creative.
@@PhotoshopTrainingChannel bro apply your dob option is not coming when i login to behance
Hi Jesus, you are obviously very knowledgeable about Photoshop, but I don't think Adobe AI or Midjourney, are recreating an existing image. They build an image from noise, IE nothing, but have been trained on models to try to create something from nothing. Still love your content. đ
I try to use the generative fill - i get a message ... You're not 18 .. you can not use generative Fill !! I'm 50 .. how do I change my age in adobe ?
You should be able to do it by changing your age and the Behance tab on the Creative Cloud App.
@@PhotoshopTrainingChannel bro apply your dob option is not coming when i login to behance, please help
it's all very nice but you have to pay 30 euros per month for the subscription to Photoshop ..most amateur photographers can't afford that ...
Correction: FORMERLY beautiful Bay area in California.
you have a cesar-milan-vibe- i will call you PS-whisperer:-)
Born lazy I think it's great, of course. Technically impressive. From Sweden.
sorry, but i am using illegal software so i cannot use that function
Could it go to extreme... I mean could we remove clothes with it !!!.. or could we marrage photos with it .... Only for educational purpose only đ
Adobe blocks inappropriate content so you cannot remove clothes đ
I can see the demise of Photoshop if this technology continues to evolve. It will end up on smart phones and then people will only have to speak what they require for an image and it will be done. No photography, no retouching âčïž
is not working good at all
As we live in free countries in the west, Adobe shouldnât make restrictions due to nudity. In Islamic countries, Adobe can block, whatever images they want to have blocked. Why should we be forced and censored like those countries? It is absolutely absurd. Even Michelangelo would be censored nowadays.
A lot of dopes in the live-chat. Just listen to the guy, ffs.
Wow this is like the worst thing to happen to the industry in years
Why? Like I've used PS for like 10 years since CS6 and I'm not a pro so many times I wanna quickly do something for a thumbnail. Well I don't want to spend 10 hours on it so this speeds it up. In it's current state many pros won't use it since it's mostly random which doesn't work in pro work
