the red knob fenders were after paul rivera. every dumble sounds completely different. to say something sounds like a dumble doesn't mean much unless it's a specific dumble

I wrote Paul about 8 years ago to thank him for the work he did with Fender but specifically the Deluxe Reverb II. He got back to me fairly quickly (which impressed me greatly knowing how busy he must be) and thanked me for my support. He went on to say that he had only worked on the Twin II, the Super Champ and if memory serves, possibly the Concert. I believe these are the only models in which he had a hands on relationship. Of course the new circuit designs were used across the entire line including my beloved Deluxe Reverb II which he thought was an excellent amp.

Kudos Sir! I just purchased a Sidekick Reverb 65 at my local Guitar store today. It was sitting unplugged behind all of the new amps in the store. The patina of this dusty Fender SS caught my eye as I was checking out guitars, so I had to plug it in. The tones I could get out of both channels and the price ($140) sealed the deal for me. Everything works, including the reverb & pedal switch. I could not believe the quality vintage tone this SS amp produces. A little bit of Google search brought me to this video. Thank you for the insights on my Sidekick. Prior to today, I was not aware of this series of amps, other than knowing Fender produced amps built in Japan in back in the 80s. Knowing this was produced from your role at Fender makes this purchase all the better.
Great. Now I want to check out Rivera Amps. 🤷‍♂️😂

I own a Rivera Era Fender amp, had 2 but 1 got lost in the shuffle. I knew she was special back in the day but I didn't know why. Now I know. I want a Rivera Quiana now. Played one on tour awhile back, aw man the tone on that beast is AMAZING!

I won some very nice booteek amps, but you'd have to pry my Clubster out of my cold dead hands, to get it away from me. The cleans on that amp are so nice, and the features (especially line out), just makes that amp the ultimate "grab & go".

I love my Concert II. Are new Rivera amps anything like the Rivera Fenders?

Paul also I think developed the super champ deluxe. One of the best ever.Rivera was abused by fender. He WAS admired by Leo.

My first guitar (and my first love) of course was and still is a Yamaha SG100N back from the 80s. A few days ago it just happened (totally out of "fatal luck" I guess) to become the owner of YAMAHA G100 II Amp head along with the original 4x12 cabin - and looks like you (that is Paul Rivera) are the designer of this amp! Since there is not much information on the internet - I would love to know first hand the story behind this amp! What does Paul think about it? My amp is arriving home any day now and is in perfect condition regarding the looks, but I am willing to service and restore the electronics up to the fullest point. Should I count on Paul's tips and would definitely love to hear of Paul's opinion on this particular what so ever! Thanks!

Well I just read where YT is doing some revamping and it's causing problems with comments not showing, so maybe that's what happened to mine because there was certainly nothing offensive in it. Anyhow, I did put up a video just within the last week or so with some snippets of session work I did in the 80's with a Fender Studio Lead amp. You can just search through my videos to find it. I think they were great sounding amps for certain kinds of music like the jazz-rock stuff I was playing back then.
