Installing a cantilevered crossing flasher

Putting aa crossing flasher on My HO scale Model railroad grade crossing. I'm using Walthers Crossings and Azatracks circuit.

You can get a sound board from ebay for that if you want sound added

What is a resistor? And do you need them? Are those HO scale? If not, where did you purchase them?

You can use tall grass or bushes, Hide it in a tree trunk, even could use a ridge.
