This has got to be the most mind blowing bow and arrow kill shot of the century, who would have ever thought that jake would get that close to a big mature buck in a field , and the filming of it , was totally awesome by grant , this surely won’t be just another video , and if someone thinks it is , they need to try to get within ten yards of a buck in a field.
They get this close alot just dont always get a kill. Deer are easy to get close to when you beat the nose
Yes!! Those 30 seconds up to, and including the shot, are incredible! Perfect camera position. Great, great work... that went well beyond a great hunt. It’s also great videography.

To acknowledge concern for the farmers crops and offer to reimburse him is a great, thoughtful action. Tip of the cap on a great buck, but a bigger tip of the cap for understand the value of someone else's livelihood! The care not to run the whole group through the field speaks volumes tracking the deer. Don't impress easy, and as hunters we need more of that kind of thought process front and center. Our actions reflect on the general, non-hunting public and thrilled you took the time to include that.

@@jgartrell3687 I would have to disagree as much as I loved Zach's stalk. Remember Jake and Grant sat and waited for that buck for over 7 hrs eating crickets and all and got to within point blank range and able to draw and make that shot and Jake shaking like a leaf afterwards and could barely talk straight and it's a velvet buck and he dropped within sight and well, I don't know, but I'd say this one has the edge.
@@mztd912 Zach's stalk was ABSOLUTELY EPIC! The crawling down the road and the 25 yard crawl thru the long grass to get within 20 yards, with 2 bucks that close was simply amazing! Then to execute the shot...unbelievable and inspiring! Zach's sprint back up to Logan and the call to Greg...that's the essence of hunting right there. Jake and Grant's hunt was super amazing too. Like I said, Jake's hunt ranks right up there with Zach's, but if you re-watch Zach's, you cannot help but watch with a huge smile on your face the entire time! @@mcsuttner yea I'm not trying to take away anything from Zach's hunt, it sure was an amazing hunt but Grant was with Jake in this stalk and not up on a hill, and the buck was actually walking towards Jake and not bedded. That buck walking towards Jake is what did it for me. I mean how the hell did Jake pull off that shot and not get busted with the buck walking right at him and even looking in his direction. It was unbelievable. I was more anxious in this hunt than Zach's, the intensity was just at a whole nother level.
No better hunting channel on CZcams. No one does it the way you guys do. Keep it up, we love following you!
In the video it looked much closer than 10 yards, Jake could've reached out and slit his throat almost. That buck looked huge compared to Jake when he was coming out of the canola. Awesome hunt and an awesome stalk. Congrats Jake! Persistence finally paid off.
Awesome hunt! That buck looked like he was so close you could have poked him with the arrow. Grant did an absolute killer job with the camera unbelievable footage. This is what I love to see..........no box blinds........no hunting pets with names....just wild uncut raw footage of true hunters getting it done on 100% wild fair chase whitetails on Public Ground!! I must say, the hunt, the kill and the videography was amazing but i think the bast part of this hunt was Jake calling and offering to reimburse the landowner for any damage to his crops. It just shows what kind of guys and gals THP are. They are truly a class act. Best channel on youtube period.

Awesome stuff guys! Great Start. Going to be tough to beat this as a THP TOP 5 2019. Jake you have definitely raised your game and deserve all the credit on this one. You set it up, waited him out, closed the distance. And to catch the sequence on film (Grant) made it possible to share. Got to admit, this actually reminds me of a couple of old videos of Fred Bear. He liked to sneak up real close.... and shoot over the weeds, etc. on big game. Could be a special year in the making. Also like seeing Mindi out there, in the mix, pitching in. Great team/ teamwork/chemistry. Keep it going.

This may be one of my favorite THP videos, hard to compete with zachs elk video but it’s hard to compare a deer hunt to elk anyway because so much more is going on in a back country elk hunt. Awesome video, love finding these videos I haven’t seen yet!
Great job, that was about as close of an encounter as you can get. That was absolutely awesome. It wouldn't have mattered if you would have got off a shot, to me, the encounter would have been worth the whole trip! Way to hang in there all-day and pattern that buck.
