In this episode of An Optimist's Guide to the Planet, host Nikolaj Coster-Waldau meets scientists in the Caribbean and biologists in Spain who have uncovered naturally occurring solutions that can help combat everything from plastic waste to greenhouse gas emissions.

A lannister always pays his debt
About time education about nature to go mainstream
To stay in the Optimistic feeling (like the title of this serie) is that a lot of UAPs showed up in the vicinity of the Fukushima power plant and brought the radiation down soon after the explosion :) Thank you guys ❤
hey - honey bees have nothing to do with rewilding or regenerating - they are livestock! Wild bee specias, different kinds of wasps, butterflies, flies etc. are the ones that are in real decline and are the best pollinators we can have
In the words of George Carlin "The Earth is fine. The humans are f*cked." Just like dinosaurs.
To give the dinosaurs credit, as far as we know they didn't exterminate themselves.
The things one does for love
15:36 One could call it *"The Lannister Redemption"*
Those bales of sargassum dumped into the ocean..won’t they degrade? And then there is the plastic bag..won’t that be a problem for wildlife being entangled afterwards?
Was so glad when Joffrey carked it. But back to topic. Not sure if our planet is resilient enough for our stupidity. Microplastics, forever chemicals and nuclear fallouts may be irreversible.
very intersting information
4:47 The Narration could mislead here - virtually all of the deaths in this disaster were attributed to the earthquake and/or tsunami, not the nuclear power plant. 90% of deaths were related to drowning alone.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this. New info to take in
Should have brought cersei with you
When the worms digest the plastic, is in a biodegradable form?
Yet another submersible with a PlayStation controller. 😮
What is the name of the song used in the introduction?
WELL
What is the name of the theme song 1:17
I knew it, this guy is so cool that it always felt like the wrong choice to play a man like Jamie Lannister.
❤
“I accepted to come to this meeting to have a sober and mature conversation. I’m not in any way signing up to any discussion that is alarmist. There is no science out there, or no scenario out there, that says that the phase-out of fossil fuel is what’s going to achieve 1.5C.”
- Sultan Al Jaber, President of COP 28, also CEO of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company
Mukhtar Babayev will be the president for COP 29; he is also a former executive of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijian Republic.
Seems more and more likely, scenario SSP5-8.5 of the IPCC assessment may come to fruition (or at least the higher end of the spectrum). I say enjoy what you can, while you still can; pity the generations to come.

hahahah "Nature can help heal the planet" the only thing that needs to be healed is humans; the planet and ALL it`s other life forms will function just fine with out us.
Nuclear is "completely safe"? NIMBY!
