I feel bad even saying that, because I absolutely love your channel! My favorite part is just that you show your full diagnosis process, the little wins (like finding dropped bolts) as well as when things don't work out. The other thing I love is that you're not always focused on "out of reach" cars which has become commonplace on the internet today. I am a truck driver and a diesel mechanic. Since today's truck have air suspensions, I have dealt with a lot of air lines. While the video does call them a ferrule, they are also commonly referred to as barrels too. While most of the vinyl airlines I have worked on do not commonly have a split in the barrel, if you look at an American version, the crush ferrule does look like a barrel. The vinyl airlines we work on usually have a small pipe that goes into the airline, so the barrel has something to crush the vinyl line to. The whole fitting itself is called a compression fitting.

The trick on the intercooler bolt is to cut a V notch on the intercooler tab the bolt goes through then you can pre thread the bolt on the engine and slide the intercoolers tab over it and tighten it down.

Funny, my mother in law has a 2012 Honda Accord (as so many others do).. and she had an engine light and a very rough idle with no power driving, her variable valve timing solenoid was clogged or, well reading bad.. she called Honda and they wanted her to bring it in, giver her a donor car, minimum $800 up to $1200 for the repair, PLUS anything else they found on the way, belt, oil change, plugs, you know the deal.. yeah.. I spent a half hour and got the belt off (not easy) pulled the VVT solenoid, cleaned it, tested it with an old tool battery, was like yeah it works, the screen was TOTALLY clogged though.. Car's been fine for like 3 years no problems since. Yay.

The air spring for the X6 and X5 F15 is by far the easiest job you can do. Compare it to the 7-series G12. Actually, the air spring hose can be pushed into the fitting with a little bit of force without taking the fitting off from the air spring. Make sure to give it a little tug to make sure it's not loose.

Awesome video as always! Having myself fell for the appeal of how cheap many once very expensive, safe, and luxury laden German vehicles there are, and knowing this is magnified by the very real fear of complex and expensive, if not nearly impossible repair, often regardless of overall condition I have participated myself. Love the gamble paying off....(so far:)
As far as looks, that X6 has grown on me as well since it came out. Yet by far my favorite BMW SUV is the 2002-2003 X5 4.6is. I have a 2013 X6 with the N63. It has 132k and has had the valve stem seals replaced along with a lot of the plastic tubes under the CCP/recall at 75k. Mine has a 5th passenger seat option along with the M sport package but not an a true M. It is quick and out runs a lot of so called sport cars. I would have the dealer scan your key to see what was done as far as repairs and recalls for peace of mind. I still get electrical gremlins now and then but the N63 is a beast and maintenance is key on these. As a side note we saw Nate B the same night, great show.

39:35 There are a few articles and videos regarding 5-seater conversions for the E71 X6 so you might want to start with that. I also thought, maybe you can just replace the whole 2nd row seats to that of an X5 which do not have the cubby holes in the center, after all they're basically twins (E70 X5 and E71 X6) so there should be some interchangeability across those two. I could be wrong but worth a try I guess.

Alex, you are doing the air line connections wrong bud. You do remove the old one from the line and clean the line. However, after that you DONT remove the new connector and seal ring (aka wedding band... lol) all you have to do is remove the retaining insert and push in the new line until it stops and then gently pull on the line to set the sealing ring. The instructions are clearly written in WIS. Took me over a decade before I found it but it is soooo much easier that way and no breaking the wedding ring or fighting to get them on. Hope this helps!

A layer or 2 of tissue paper or whatever paper roll you have to hand over the head of a bolt will also help keep it in the socket and not fall out.
