I've had my one piece skates for almost 2 years and I really like them. I much prefer being lower to the ice, and the 4mm blades. I didn't realize just how comfortable they were until I took my S190s for a spin a month ago...

Just got my 2-Piece ones a couple weeks ago. Best piece of gear I've ever had.

My son has used the two-piece for his last two sets of goalie skates now...his initial pair were off the shelf, and his new ones were custom fit. Both were great with the custom fit is just that much better. Best skates ever. I coach and got the custom forward skate and immediately I was able to wear them for hours on the ice at a time. I came from the newest CCM Tacks at the time (2019) and they were cutting into my ankle bones big time...the true were much better for my feet.

How are you able to get them off the shelf. I am thinking of buying two piece skates and the seller claims that they weren’t scanned and custom molded. Is this possible or for a custom skate do you need to custom scan. Was your son able to just get measured and grab them
Off the shelf. Or did he also have to get the scan. Thanks!

I talked with a well known Podiatrist and an Orthopedic doctor. Both believe that the one piece skate will give guys foot issues over time. The logic is the foot is not meant to be locked in a structure with no give to it. Hence the foot won't operate as designed. I skated in the one piece for about 6 months 4 to 5 days a week. I noticed some soreness in my shins and knees. I switched to the 2 piece skate and all the soreness went away. I went back to the one piece and the soreness came back again. So now I am in the 2 piece with zero issues. I think these doctors I spoke with are on to something.

There is definitely a lot of discussion about this in the goalie community now. Appreciate you sharing your experience. As we say - if you lock it all in the force has to go somewhere....

I have been thinking really hard about trying a set of these custom for my tired old feet. I have two pretty substantially large bunions on each forefoot that cause me a ton of pain even with bunion sleeves. Could these be the answer to avoid foot surgery for a few more years? I’m on the ice 4-6 hours a week and this is getting tough

Dont like the two piece being higher off the ice , goalies need to be lower IMO

You are not alone there for sure - what's your thinking on this?

More stable with lower gravity and IMO you can plant your feet and be ready for shot , I do believe some goalies like a higher back heal two piece maybe cause it helps then drive down if they are tilted forward slightly . I just prefer lower blades

In that case. I was about to get up and leave...

Seriously, still worrying about what we're doing? It's the law here...we follow public policy. Not debating things int he comments either. Appreciate having you watch but if it's not your thing, that's fine.
