The characters are named after alcohol. Lillet Blanc, chartreuse, amaretto, margarita...
It's good to see a review made by someone who likes the genre but also has strong opinions about what he likes and what he doesn't. Most reviews I've seen of this game, say it's not a good game, but I think they dislike the aesthetics and were unable to see past the art style, and that affected their overall opinion of the game. I mean, that's the impression I get from what they say. Me? I will try it on, for sure.
Definitely gonna get it! I love Vanillaware games! 13 Sentinels and Odin Sphere Leifthrasir are on my favorite games of all time.
Tried dragon crown? It managed to beat odin sphere as my favorite one and that is NOT an easy feat.
@@astahfirula Yeah! I like 13 Sentinels and Odin Sphere more, but it's another great game from them.
I just picked this up, yes it released physically for PS4/PS5 and Switch. Never played it before, so I'm excited to try it out.
I think we're looking for the challenge because what we want in our game experience has shifted from power fantasy (slow buildup of dopamine) to overcoming big hurdles (dopamine spiked with adrenaline and cortisol)
I really want to get this! I've played the original on the PS2, and it is by far one of the best games on that system and one of the best games I've ever played in my entire life! 😁 Vannilaware make such beautiful, amazing games!
could be mistaken, but isn't the ps2 port that is selling in the Playstation Store for ps4 have a trophy support?
the skill is not useless though, the fact that you need to unlock these upgrades outside combat phase means theres an aditionnal layer of strategy outside of combat.
I have the original version and was happy it was getting remastered. Unfortunately Nis did not do a good job of showing what upgrades they made besides graphics. I didn't see enough to make me want to purchase it again. Love the game though, I remember when it was first released and some reviews called it Harry Potter in video game form lol.
I agree with you. I haven't played the new version but the original was absolutely awweeeeeeeeesome and definitely worth playing. I'm glad someone else likes this game, it's underrated
which vanilla ware game arent underrated, i think none of them sold a million... and they are all at least very good.
Honestly had no interest until I heard you compare it to Plants vs Zombies, which I love and haven’t played in ages.
If you have the digital PS2 version on PS3 would you still recommend the remaster? It didn't sound like much of an upgrade based off of what was said in the video.

Vanillaware storys are always epic
I enjoyed it on the PS2 back in the day, I'm hoping that the PC version supports Keyboard and Mouse though as moving a cursor with a thumbstick isn't really my cup of tea anymore.
Sadly it did not release on PC
A ps5 physical came out too.
I seen the combat for this and I was like not for me. Lol I didn’t give it a chance
I bought it because Vanillaware. At first I hated it and it took me at least 5 missions and a switch to easy mode to finally enjoy it. Now I'm addicted and I can't wait to be good enough to replay it on normal difficulty

13 sentinels was more a tower defense than grim grimoire though. Grim grimoire has the ressource management no different than Starcraft for example.
It's not on PC.
