I did commercial floor cleaning nights when younger. Paid by the job. When buffing I would wear thick wool socks no shoes and crank up the 12HP propane buffer to jogging speed as it pulled me along behind. Saved 30 minutes easy. And i wasnt tired.
@@GodzHammer Had two mowers like that. While it's great fall cleanup, just pull a lawn rake behind you and it's a one step process, they are horrible about not dispersing the clippings. Leaves the lawn looking horrible unless you use the lawn sweeper. Went back to side discharge.
@@Ghostrider2080 I would believe that but your putting out more fumes if you ran all electric like then yes but no sorry Its not better for earth it's just natural fert with all the sand and derby from the parking lot but I admit I've been doing that for 20 years if you go in reverse it works better especially when using the blades only thing it will dull them quickly lol

@@seanjones7339 I have worn out 1 blower from echo that lasted 8 yrs commercial & residential the other Echo blower that i am using now is 10 yrs old. I'v had 2 John Deere L 110's riders n they last a LONG time. I mulch all the leaves during the fall that can be 2 ft. high in leaves going backwards. Cuz IF you go forward on a rider it just pushes it to where i want it then hit reverse. They leaves turn into tiny little pieces. Even the Echo gas weed wackers can last 10 yrs or more.
The easier way: This is from an edge trimmer. Watch which way the trimmer rotates. It throws clippings to one side and not the other. You can make the clippings from the trimmer land ON THE LAWN and not the concrete in the first place. Trim first, and then when you mow you pick up the clippings too. Easy peasy. Just understand where your clippings will fall ahead of time.
You're talking nonsense. Unless you like leaving a dirty finish. I've been edging with a trimmer for decades. Tried every which way. Your description gets the cleanest result, but there's no controlling dust, dirt, and larger clippings. You're still going to need to blow. This is the most efficient way I've found.

This is NOT how you do it actually. Professionally anyways, you can get fired for this. Every lawn care worker is supposed to blow the clippings back on but by foot. This is not a sign of quality but rushing and that’s how mistakes happen.

@CAN Control I'm just surprised to see they even tried to remove the clippings. I always took my time blowing the roads by hand but utilizing the blower on the deck is just a nice touch. Oversight is easy forsure but it's a step above most

@Jeff Hale I've taken over lawns that were once a beauty. People don't realize that every lawn isn't the same. When you cut a field with clovers and dandelion and other weeds and don't clean your equipment, you're transferring all those weeds onto a lawn without any. People just don't have foresight.
@@dronus True. The lawns I serviced where keeping weeds under control was a challenge all used commercial mowing services. The decks would bring in the weeds you mentioned, plus bring Bermuda clippings into the fescue lawns. Not to mention the diseases. When the homeowner would ask the mowers about it, they would say "Oh, no, we pressure wash our equipment between each lawn." Once the homeowner took over the mowing, the weeds were easily controlled.
@Jeff Hale yes sir. I've also never seen anybody power rake either, but I'm sure there are some that do. My gf's lawn was super hard and not soft. I did a couple passes of power raking and brought up a bunch of material from a tree she had on her lawn /leaves/seeds/rocks/sticks. Then aerated the lawn, and put manure down.

YES they do n that's better than bagging it. What i do is use my John Deere rider along the st. going backwards gets ALL the grass n leaves off the st. It may sound silly but it does the job

You shouldn’t bag your clipping unless the grass is overgrown or there are weeds present in the lawn. Clippings from regular maintenance mowing should be recycled back onto the turf to help feed the lawn.

Where i live if it's a residential area you can get fined if you don't. Plus it's potentially a hazard for motorcyclists so always good to be safe.

I've used the same exact strategy numerous times while doing commercial landscaping lol. Also those Stihl packpack blowers absolutely kick ass
