I went looking for an analysis like this when I first watched that John Smith clinic years ago, but there was only match tape at the time. I actually just watched that version again (it's from a different angle than MNHS) and thought I'd check again for more than highlights on Higuchi. I just wanted to see a swing single breakdown, but I got an arm drag in the bargain as well!
5:41 arm drag from inside/outside control, with the arm dragging hand coming from outside control and the inside control letting fall the opponent’s block hand into the void
0:00 Introduciton 2:28 Traditional Arm Drag Breakdown, Abasgadzhi Magomedov 4:25 Rei Higuchi Arm Drag Breakdown 8:50 Rei Higuchi Swing Single Breakdown 12:07 Rei Higuchi Highlights and how he uses Swing Single and Arm Drag in a series.
you are great Sir you tell about the minor tricks very closely in the video. Please do study 97 KG abudalslam gadisov he is applying very effective move duck under and standing ankle pick
If you ever need an idea for a video can you please make one going in depth on neutral, I need help learning how to notice exploitable tendencies if that makes sence
In the 2nd part of the video during the swing single, when higuchi is versing surieet of India and shoots deep does surieet have control oh higuchis hand
I appreciate it. I coached at the high school varsity level for years. Now I'm a youth club coach. Northwest suburbs of Illinois. Dundee Highlanders. Same youth club I started at as a kid.
@@wrestlingmastery4995 awesome! That's great I love breakdown videos like this you learn a lot more than just watching the match. I'm sure you aren't even close to running out of content but if you ever do or want to do something different you should do "reviews" of matches people send you. Maybe give tips or things like that
@@everythingUTrealestate I have had this thought before. I wanted to put out a few videos to build the channel. And down the line try to implement a service where I do just that. If I get a steady enough video to review I can give the review the same attention to detail I give to these breakdown videos. Once I can get back to the mat I can also tie into that video drills and or how to correct etc.

Coach Fiorito we need more Cow Bell if you know what I mean!
why i discovered your channel so late,FUCK!!
Now I now how works Higuchi's single leg attack and why it is so effective
In the 2nd part of the video during the swing single, when higuchi is versing surieet of India and shoots deep does surieet have control oh higuchis hand
You got it right! Surieet has cross wrist control. Pause it @ 9:54, Higuchi uses this cross wrist against surieet by extending it.
8:14 music?
Wow
Great video! Where are you a coach for?
