@@erazehashbrown484 they were both only about 55, second one pushing 65 meters not including the bounce, still only took the hawks only 2 kicks to get the goal lol
For this old timer, Gary Ablett remains the standard with that booming punt from the goal square. Cheers. Having said that, todays' lads are following right along in the footsteps of their predecessors. The AFL remains the best sport on the pitch.
Remember not all grounds are the same length. Princess Park, Gabba, SCG all have very small gaps between their center squares and 50m arcs, so some of Goals at those grounds may look longer than they actually were. On the other hand Quentin Lynch's Goal at Subiaco Oval (the longest ground) was probably 76-80m off 2 steps.
The whole video, I was thinking; surely Geelong’s longest kick has to be by an Ablett... Yeah it was! Some of the AFL’s best players, snr and jnr, and there’ll probably be more of them...
Brisbane lions could also have been Ash McGrath from 2003 prelim final vs sydney at Telstra stadium/anz stadium torp from square on the run that bounced thru 🤙🏻
Andrew Fleming It appeared longer than it actually was, because of how high he kicked it. In reality it was about 65mtrs. Still a long way, but a lot of players nowadays can kick that far, on a regular basis. I saw Blight kick that far on his left once out at Waverley, in the late 70’s against Hawthorn. Because it wasn’t a shot at goal, just a field kick, there’s no mention of it.
True story, Blight kicked that goal after the siren against Carlton to win the game at Princes Park. The very next week, on the same ground, but against co-tennants Hawthorn, in the wet, Blight gets a push in the back as he kicked at goal in the final seconds. The Ball goes through for a point to tie the game and then the final siren sounds. The umpire gives Blight the option to accept the point or have another shot after the siren. Blight is no more than 30 metres out but in very heavy conditions this time. So he accepts the kick knowing that a goal wins the game, a point draws the game and no score loses the game. Most likely due to the wet, the ball skews off his boot on a sharp angle, ending up out of bounds for no score, thus losing the game. So the week before he wins the game after the siren, the next week he loses it after the siren. Talk about from riches to rags! ... But that's football for you!
Paul Seedsman kicked a longer goal for the Crows than the one that Taylor Walker kicked. His goal was also kicked at the SCG. And David Wojcinski kicked a longer goal for Geelong than Gary Ablett Snr's monster torpedo when he booted one on the run from near the center circles which bounced through the goals at the Punt Road end of the MCG against Melbourne in 2003. And some of Peter Daicos' monster torpedoes may have been longer than Anthony Rocca's goal for Collingwood too.
In damp /greasy and overcast conditions for a fair slice of the game until the rain settled in late in the 3rd , at VFL Park .vs. Carlton , not a bad roost just quietly. Poor Carlton , lost the week before to Hawthorn in the 2nd Semi in a game where it rained non-stop from go to whoa ( I know all too well being there in standing room out in the open 🥶🌧☃️), then Melbourne knocked them out in the prelim. kicking 19.6.120 to 14.14.98.
Efraim and Sam My cousin played for the Saints, in the 80’s as capt of the Under 19’s. Geoff Ferring used to goals like that at training on Tuesday nights, when the 19’s, Reserves & Senior’s trained in 1 combined group.
the ablett one he also kicked another that was very similar that i believe was abit closer to the center circle, ben graham i think also kicked one similar
Fletchers kick went further than most North Korean missiles.
Spagman I would like but it’s at exactly 100
And abblet

Lol
@J G cool story bruh
When I saw Lloyd with the ball I was like
“wtf surely it has to be fletcher”

Love how buddy gets biggest kick in Hawthorn and Sydney
Yeah it just proves how good he is
Both of them bounced before going through though.

How’s the bomb from St Kilda... centre circle 😳
yup thats got to have been 100m for sure behind the center circle ridiculous kick
Ridiculously impressive.
Not sure why it's not spoken of more as a classic goal, other than because it was a Saints player. :D
What’s the players name?
Jeff Fehrig
Malcom Blight still the greatest kick of all time.
Do you know how many meters it is?
@@gaigegiachi4299 they say 80 metres
It would have to have gone 90 cause it was goal post height by the time it was over the line
Bring the Torp back into the game, it was so exciting to see one be roosted through and hilarious when they don’t come off.
Great work mate....I was at the North v Carlton match when Blight kicked that goal. My brother and i jump the fence in shot behind goals.

That Fletcher torp was insane.
Thanks for putting this together. Great fun to re-live these moments in the best sport on earth.
That goal from Dusty Fletcher was massive. He tried to repeat it a year or so later, ended up kicking the back of his left leg and broke the leg.
Oof
Pretty sure that Matt Robran kicked a few torps at Footy Park in the mid 90s that were significantly longer than the Tex Walker goal.
I think it is amazing how buddy kicked the Hawks and swans biggest goal
Buddy’s hurdle goal is the best!
Jayden hunt: *kicks goal*
Me: BRING BACK THE BARREL!!!!
Just made a new and updated similar compilation video
czcams.com/video/szfPHNH3WfE/video.html
Check it out
CARDMAN 22 yeah it was in my recommended so I assume it was in a lot of other people’s recommended too
for Richmond i think jack riewoldts goal in the final against Brisbane was bigger
I remember Wojinski kicking one from like 80m out.
Jim Jesse (Rich) Kicked one from the centre, that'll beat any that Jack Riewoldt kicked.
ye It was cool
Awesome Video hopefully we can see some really long goals this year!👍😀
Same mate!!
Rip
Sharon Edelsten cause we didn’t have footy at that time
This is a video I've always wanted. I always wanted to know what AFL teams longest goal is . Keep it up
Thanks mate! Glad you liked it
I’m a pies fan but that hawks goal - long kick out of def then buddys amazing feat - bloody good effort
"Malcolm blight you've lost your crown" Blasphemy!
Never ceases to amaze me how far those guys can kick!
That first one is one of my fondest footy moments. Buddy kicked a similar one not long before so the pressure was enormous on Tex.
This was the video I’ve been looking for, thanks mate

David Wojinski for Geelong vs Melbourne MCG
Jason winderlich vs sydney in the wet

Dane Swan once kicked a goal from just outside the centre circle against Carlton. Not sure if it was longer than Rocca's or not
