    I was between the JBL GTO 939 and the Infinity Kappa 693 for my 2016 Jeep Renegade, which uses 6x9 for all four doors and 3.5" for the dash. I ended up with the JBL GTO 939 for the doors and the JBL Club 3020 for the dash 3.5" speakers. It really sounds awesome and it is not even fully broken in yet. I am sure I would have been very happy with the Infinity Kappa as well.

      To add to that, the factory Amp pushes 500 watts. 50 watts to each of the front door speakers, and 50 watts to each of the 2 tweeters, 100 watts to both of the back door speakers and 100 watts to the sub. All in all a decent factory Amp. I just purchased the same JBL GTO 939 6x9 speakers for all the doors and waiting to see how the tweeters will compare. So far, how are you liking the JBL tweeters? The passive crossovers of each could drastically change the sound depending on each speakers crossover points. Each speakers designers have their own preference on when the crossover is transfered from the woofer to the mid and to the tweeters with reference of overlap. If you know this..the loudness doesn't mean more quality sound

    Infinity Kappa is, hands down, the best product you tested in this lineup.
    I own them and push them with a Sundown SAE-50.4, LPF set to 80Hz at the h/u.
    They scream, and the mid-bass/bass punches good and hard.
    When I ran them full-range prior to installing my sub, they produced good bass down to about 32Hz before roll-off.
    Out of curiosity, what are you pushing the speakers with, and what are you setting gains with?
    Mainly asking because the Infinity's and JBL's really don't wake up until you give them about 60-70 watts, unlike the 4 ohm speakers you're comparing them to.

    The JBL’s are louder, but they don’t sound better. The Infinity Kappa lineup was designed with sound quality and linearity in mind. The JBL GTO lineup was designed to get loud and low for the mass market. I run Kappa components in my car, with proper tuning and crossovers I can tell there is a tremendous difference compared to the JBL GTO component lineup (which was in my vehicle before). The Kappa’s do a much better job of being clean and linear, and that’s what makes them more appealing to certain buyers such as myself. Besides, you use a sub to hit bass notes, not a 6x9 speaker, thats why people are always blowing their shit out.

    You said in the first video the jbl 4 ohm... But it's 3 ohm.. That could be difference to wire than infinity 2 ohm..
    And other thing.. Why big company like JBL do speakers with strange impedance like 2.5.. 2.7 and 3.0 ohm
    How we supposed wire it!!!
    And if we wire it to nearest ohm of the implifier what the disadvantage for the speakers than if it wired with the actually Same ohm it supposed to?!! Could the speakers break down after a while?? And the sound be different??!!

    Late comment, but for anyone new to this, searching around for information, there is alot of missing information going on here. I love the videos, but you definitely might as well not show the skar or cerwins or fosgates. This series is obviously influenced by harmon kardon, either their personal interest or your personal preference. Dont get me wrong, I am a huge harmon fan, my whole home audio set up is old school harmon, and watching this video because I am shopping for kappa highs right now. I dont think its cool at all to throw some of the most legitimate companies under the bus though. Fosgate and cerwin vega where there leading the way since the beginning, and to litterally get there 39 dollar, very lowest level speakers and throw them up against some of harmon kardons top of the line is dirty 🤷‍♂️ if you are starting out you can fill all four doors and the dash with the prime series for 120 bucks and have a very clean, fairly loud mid and high game, then replace as you have funds. No hate man, your videos are my got too when I am looking for speakers, just gotta stand up for my boo, rockford , and my side B cerwin V. Keep up the videos, match models better...now show me a rockford power series against a kappa series and throw 150-200 watts at them, along with othe top shelf speakers and you'll be doing a huge favor to many O people 👍

    I installed the exact same Infinity 6x9’s in my car and I have JBL Component speakers in my doors. The Infinity speakers blow the JBL speakers away, in my opinion. Much richer and fuller mid bass. The JBL’s are way too bright and lack low end mids.

  • @TheRalphacosta
    @TheRalphacosta Před 2 lety

    Im just wondering that the ohms of the infinity is rated for a 2 ohm load. If you have your head unit radio set up for 4 ohms which the Jbl is. It is going to be louder. If you have both speaker hooked up in series then that also will make a difference. Your speaker wire also may cause a smaller resistance which 4 ohms is smaller than 2 ohms. Study your audiophile book or ask a professional who uses actual measuring equipment.

    • @glennonheinrich8185
      @glennonheinrich8185 Před 2 lety

      2 ohm is lower than 4 Ohm. The two ohm speaker will potentially get twice as much power as the 4ohm speaker.

  • @MarcelloTheBandit
    @MarcelloTheBandit Před 4 lety

    Those JBLs are a 2 Ohm speaker in the US market at least. I had to attenuate the tweeters on both my GX608C components and GC629 coaxials, which are a 2-way 6.5/6.75. If I were to do it over again I would have probably gone with the Infinity Kappas or References, but for $130 and $90 respectively, I saw it as better value for a 3 row crossover daily driver with only a factory head unit pushing MAYBE 35w per channel vs $400 for 2 pairs of Kappas or $600 for the Reference which honestly need more power and a cleaner signal. Even with the attenuation I have to tone down the treble and bass so they don't overpower the mids. On normal FM radio it sounds really good, but on CD you'd think you were in the studio.
