Man...I've been singing all my life...over thirty something years... professional...there's not too many people that can touch what Brian McKnight does!! Awesome!!
Me, too. Singers are bowled over because they know what goes into it. Although, in Brian's case, it's something otherworldly! He is SO much better as a mature man. The musicality and emotion are heartstopping!
I had the privilege to hear this amazing King sing here in my city of Nashville Tennessee and when I tell you he blew the roof off and my heart went to the ceiling
This is my favorite video on CZcams right now. Brian is a BEAST and yet he still is not fully praised for his talent. He's my absolute favorite singer in the world EVER! He's often called "arrogant" he has every right to be. Love you Brian!
When God Bless someone with a Gift, it is simply Amazing. Brian McKnight is truly blessed by the Almighty God. B. McKnight has taken me through some good and bad times with his incredible songs (After the love is gone - One last Cry - Still in Love - 6,8,12 - Anytime and so many others). A fan for Life!
Best R&B vocalists of ALL TIME.... Hands down 1. Brian McKnight 2. Stevie Wonder 3. Michael Jackson 4. Wanya Morris 5. Lionel Richie 6. Luther Vandross 7. Al Green 8. Donnie Hathaway 9. Shawn Stockman 10. Usher In this order, too. Brian can cover ANYONE's song... I've heard him cover Whitney Houston. He's a BEAST !!!
i never get tired of watching this video! hands down it is my FAVORITE video on youtube sung by none other than my FAVORITE singer. This performance should change any naysayers mind about Brian. He is so talented. i just cant help but to come back and watch this over and over.
Even if other singers could match Brian's skill in vocal runs, I don't know any that can pair it with such raw power that he does. His voice has incredible sound and clarity.
Ha! If this is the Summer 07 Concert in Vegas I was there. Out there on business and just happened to see an ad for it the day before, and got front row tickets... Not a huge audience, but an awesome concert. Matt Cusson was on Piano at the time and did a great job. If you've got more video from this concert post it up.
I dont get it why he never got any grammy. Is there any possibility that one day he will get it in the future? I mean when considering his influence or musical trend in the U.S. not his singing ability cause his singing is obviously worth grammy.
@fool8tools Nah, he is just demonstrating that you don't need auto-tune for every studio recording, if singers would get back to taking their craft seriously.
Unpopular opinion- I absolutely love BM and everything he does but this particular version was a bit too stop and start for me, I sometimes wish he would just sing naturally, I don't think he needs to overdo the vocal runs as his voice is incredible as it is!
I agree. I find the runs distracting. He has a beautiful voice, but don't change your hit song. We love the original version, that's why it's a hit. People like to sing along to their favorites. It brings back memories.
You guys share the same sentiments as many do. I remember in an interview Brian stating that from time to time he would switch up the way he would sing his songs, so to him it wouldn't become stale. You can see a bunch of his live performances here on CZcams. I do like his early 90s performances when the song first came out, and he didn't feel the need to go "all out". But then I forward to his early 2000s interpretation of the song, and its pretty awesome. I think there's a version he did on Oprah's network that was pretty good. Then you get to the 2010s where he feels the need to stretch out the song and that's okay. Then his latest live sets have him back on the piano getting the crowd to sing along with him and he sings it the way he used to. It's ultimately at his discretion. But it does speak to his versatility and what he's capable of. I'm glad he is still with us.
That is just plain 'ole ridiculous! How does he do that? And that piano player hangs right in there like that? It is just wrong that anyone is that talented.
It is ridiculous how talented he is, but lest we not forget, that piano player stayed right with him through all of that improvation.
Jazz..
Bro he really did im in awe!
Brilliant
The pianist is amazing as him ....
Jean-Pierre Yin word. Stays with him the whole time and just plays along
The pianist is Matt Cusson. He was BM protégé. He’s an incredible artist in his own right. Check him out. Enjoy!
I Keep coming back...
Every week.
THIS is SINGING!
