If all goes right, in several years Las Vegas will also be the destination for the first true high speed rail service in North America, Brightline West. Traveling at speeds of up to 186mph, electric trains will make the trip between Vegas and Rancho Cucamonga in just over two hours. Riders will connect at RC with Metrolink, SoCal’s regional rail service, to get to/from LA. It’ll provide a much needed and long overdue alternative to driving the I-15 freeway, which is notorious for long traffic jams in the middle of the Mojave Desert.

The only thing the corporations that own the hotels *need* to do is generate revenue. That's their sole mission. Given how wildly popular, crowded, and successful Vegas has been post-pandemic, they have no incentive to offer more buffets, reduce show prices, eliminate parking and resort fees, or make the town any more budget-friendly than it is right now.

The Strip, as it is known, is about 4.2 mi (6.8 km) long, and is immediately south of the Las Vegas city limits in the unincorporated towns of Paradise and Winchester, but is often referred to simply as "Las Vegas". it is governed by the Clark County Commission, not by the City of Las Vegas.

My parents were honeymooning in late 1991, just months before I was born in May 1992. Long thereafter, we went to Las Vegas for the first time in 2004 when the Olympic summer games were ongoing in Athens, Greece. We stayed at Excalibur hotel and casino and we were just having a little bit of fun for three nights. Then, ten years later, we came back, but this time in a different hotel before we went to Circus Circus. Las Vegas is a city known for star-studded entertainment, and it feels like Hollywood. As always, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.

I like it because I work there.
Obviously there’s always psychos that don’t care if they get caught,
but I like the fact that pretty much every time crime happens at or around a casino,
the criminal is caught thanks to our surveillance.
