I love this woman, but there is something missing in her voice with this song. There is no excitement or eagerness to it. No Banter or playfulness with the song. It's like she is bored. She has the band there and it still boring. There was a time she would have saliva running out of her mouth all over the mic because she was so into it. When she screwed up in the middle of a song she would have fun with it, we would get a great improv..... and now its.......
We’re you there? My audio doesn’t do it justice. It was a more melancholic version than some I’ve heard - but I put that down ti artistic creativity. It’d been nice to have had the band elevated a little so you could see them from the front.
These live recordings just don't do any justice to her performance. I've seen her twice in the last twelve months and both have been the best shows I've seen of her over the years.
Yeah she's lost a lot of the power in her voice and is sounding a bit wobbly at times (I suspect it's a lung thing). However, what she's lacking vocally, she's making up for with these incredible new arrangements! The 3 of them have really worked magic on these songs, the staples in particular. Bouncing Off Clouds is just heavenly, that's prob my fave on this tour. They seem to have really made the effort to breathe new life into the older songs, in such creative ways. The new guy (lol) has definitely proven himself, and he had some massive shoes to fill! But my perception is that the fandom has unanimously approved hahaha
have you listened to Code Red yet from Paris 4/20? This though definitely isn't my favorite version of CALS but I've listened to many many versions so i'm picky, my favorite would be the versions with Hurt added, we still might get that again someday?

I would go to see #tori #amos live in #london if I knew most of her songs were acoustic. No need for all this distorted guitar .
