I agree that Princeton Reverbs are, perhaps, not as great as people think. I say that not because I don't like them. I own a great vintage one:67 BF. I do love it, but if I had to do it again, I would have bought a vintage BF deluxe reverb instead. It was the really tiny club, super low volume dealio as to why I chose it over a DR. The DR just has more beef and dimension imo. I guess I will have to save up for a DR.
Leo was a genius....he took the same circuit and built 20 or so different amps in the 'blackface era" where the only thing that changed was the transformers and speaker configuration...with few exceptions, all the models in the blackface era are basically the same amp....fucking great marketing. In my opinion, the Pro Reverb is the PERFECT combination of "small enough to record" yet big enough to REALLY gig with...anywhere....40 watts into 2x12's is the perfect gig amp for ANY occasion...sounds inarguably WAY better than a Deluxe Reverb and is usually less dough for some bizarre reason.
@@501chorusecho Leo ran Fender very much like the auto industry... one chassis with a few mods to accommodate a bunch of different designs. Genius. For me its the blackface Deluxe Reverb. I have a '67 and it is freaking GLORIOUS!
@@501chorusecho I know Pro's have flown under the radar for a while. Not anymore I think.....thanks again for graciously sharing so much of your knowledge, artistry and mastery with us. We luv ya!
@@501chorusecho absolutely Tio my 58 super tweed is so rediculous sounding. You can get tweed and black face tones. Leo was so bad ass..
I think the phase inverter was weak in the black face Princeton, crap out city. I got rid of mine. Now I have a ‘66 Super Reverb, but I’m wondering if a Pro, Tremolux, or Bandmaster Head. I think those are same power rating, lower than a Super. Might be better
"Dude, calm the fuck down" one of the many reasons Tom is needed in this world!
Man! Your rhythm guitar skill & taste ...so amazing!! Thanks for this performance!!
and coming from u, high praise, indeed!
Thank you my dear man
About time. 😁
Gods recognise Gods
@@TJjjjjjjjjjj in this modern age - they also collaborate sometimes!
I love it man. Everything about it. The positivity makes my day
Love every video. Tom. Thank you!
I really liked that behind the scenes stuff! Was great extra content!!
Great class. Love the pedal talk. You always have cool and obscure gear. And, as usual, great playing. I know I appreciate all the effort.
You're the best and you brighten my days everytime I watch ya👍🏻
Absolutely fantastic! I hope your boy is feeling better!! Thanks Tom!
Yes!!! My Lord that was awesome!
You are on fire today brotha! Loved every minute of this!!!
ruling! congrats Uncle Larry on the record, can't wait to hear it
It’s always a “pick me up” to see a new post from Uncle Larry! Thanks, Tom. Keep them coming. And oh yeah- Cleveland rocks!
Go Browns!!
You're freaking great and so inspiring uncle Larry! Love those sounds man!
Thanks uncle, always worth it after trying to keep an eye out for when you show up! Wish it was a little more often, but I will take what I can get. God Bless!
Love it when you in a mode! Awesome job! I’ve met you twice out randomly in Nashville and you have always taken a moment and genuinely interacted with me. I’ve been watching since the start and attended the 100 show in April! You are the man Uncle Larry and I’m in your crazy army!
Very cool as always Tom!
First off, thanks for the awesome concert. I went straight over to my Strat after that. Also wanted to say a big congrats on having Mr. Anderson sing/write on your song. That is truly truly awesome and a great affirmation to Homeschoolin. Can't wait to hear it! Glad the kids alright. Thanks for the cool vid.
Lock on a guitar case so true - that's hysterical - especially the combination ones. Love all of your videos
You are the best Uncle that I have. Happy Sunday Uncle Larry.
Tommy, thank you for always being true to who you are and your craft...Great video and I enjoy the behind the scenes, and aspects of your world. Keep rocking
Hey uncle Larry, I just appreciate your vids man! The lockdown has totally sucked but you have been an inspiration my brother. Thank you so much for keeping it going too!! Love you brother!!!
love the content. i learn something new each time i watch. A guy like me who plays for fun and in my church band is never going to see inside a tour bus or a Nashville studio so i find it all very interesting. I like that the content is varied, sometimes gear, sometimes a song, sometimes in a studio. I hope you keep it going for a long time. (it was worth tuning in just to hear you tell the dude calm the fuck down"
Always love popping in to see what Buk is preaching:):) thanks Tom
Hell yeah! Kick ass intro to todays class. Love it! The title of this vid “Unclelectric Larryland” is just perfect for a song og maybe even an album - Thanks for your playing and perspective 😊🎸👍
YEAH!!!!!!!!!!! Welcome back, Uncle Larry!!!!! Thank You, Man!!!!!🎸
You just keep doing what you do Uncle Larry. It just cracks me up some of the comments that people make about your program. I think there are probably a majority of people out here in CZcams land that understand what you're getting at.
Thanks for everything Uncle Larry! love it ALL…
Congrats on having Jon on your album. That is amazing! Well deserved...
And we are happy to have you Unc. Looking forward to Trip the Witch. So cool about Jon singing on it. I can't wait to hear the delicious guitar tones with you and Dean, two master craftsmen, playing on the record. I hope Leo feels better.
I had to watch that beginning again,
my God man, you are hands down best guitarist on here and just a treat and a privilege to watch the Session Man in action! Thank you Uncle
Uncle Larry, you’re inspirational!
Congrats on having one of your heroes on your amazing album! Love ya Tom ! Thanks for being real and always ALWAYS playing from your heart! Love Trip The Witch and Plexisoul!
Wonderful playing. Great chat, Uncle Larry- sorry you had a tough day.
Man I just discovered this after watching rig rundown with you. Outstanding and informative and funny. I just started playing about a year ago. I'm an old fuck (55) but I bought a new American Pro Strat and a Vox AC10C1. I can't wait to hear what you did with Dean man, STP made some great albums. Dean has been one of my favorite players. Thanks for the info!
Yeah, Jimi! Awesome thanks for talking a bit about him. Cheers, Tom. 🍻
Can’t wait for the album!!!,
Uncle Larry-You’re a saint man. Just too cool. Thanks for always letting us in your world a bit. Keep em’ comin. Rock on. Life is pain.
Life rocks. Ciao 🤘🏼
This best video you have ever posted!
Hi Tom. I really enjoy your Home Shoolin your playing and your humour. I live in Sydney Australia. Sydney has been in lockdown since June 26. Your videos have really helped making me feelreally energized about my guitar playing. Music is about connecting with people after all. Thanks Uncle Larry. Keep Rockin. Regards Eric
I've been wagging school for too long. What a jam to come back to!
Yes!!! Thank you Tom.
WOW! Yes, is my favourite prog band. I'm not crying, you're crying! ...can't wait to hear it.
Thanks Uncle Larry !
You can’t make everybody happy. Some people would f up a wet dream.
You are freaking awesome and always in the pocket.
Dear Uncle Larry,
Thank you for all the awesome guitar lessons. I really feel evolution in my playing and how I approach the guitar. Hope that you continue sharing your precious knowledge with us for as long as you can.
Hope to see you, someday, play in Portugal. It will be hard to find Rolling Rock but our Super Bock might appeal to your exquisite taste.
All the best, from this distant Portuguese nephew.
Love the veil pulled back on tour! One of the best CZcams channels. Ignore the douches brother
Congratulations Jon “f#*kin” Anderson can’t wait!
A dream come true
Happy for You!
Hey Tom, thanks for "stopping by" man, despite of all the fuzz on the home front.. Hope your kid gets well soon.
Don't let the pressure to produce this vids(I was under the impression, you were more or less) get to you. We can wait... You already give so much, probably without realizing. You've been a great help to me without knowing. We lost our daughter in 2020 (29) and your vids pulled me through a lot of hard times. Music can be such a lifesaver for some people and I'm one of them. :)
Wishing you and your family all the best! Greets from the Netherlands.
Awesome, not even kiddin !!!!!
HELLO UNCLE LARRY!!! Thank You and God Bless you.
Thanks Tom!!!
Appreciate you brother. Not many things break your heart more than having a sick kid. Thankfully, they are like superballs and bounce right back. :)
I’m in a mood today guys…🤣🤣🤣
Continue rocking my brother! 🤘🏻
Uncle Larry, that opening solo was one of the most bad ass solos I’ve ever heard. Holy shit that woke me up and got me going. I must of played it on repeat 10x plus. I may be a little biased when it comes to your playing but man I love when your really go for it. I love the whole tune and the rhythm was great, but man I’m a sucker for a killer solo and that my friend, was an absolutely wicked, burn the house down opening solo. Wow. I can’t wait to blast that in my car. Plus it was a Jimi tune. They recently put a version of Red House on CZcams at the Live at The Royal Albert Hall concert which has an amazing version of Little Wing if you like Axis but someone shot in on their phone during a one night premiere in London of a re-mastered version of the show. His note choice, touch and vibrato was pretty damn amazing. I know you’re all about the song and beautiful, unique chord progressions and playing for what the song needs but man would I love to hear a video of you just going for it with that Roland fuzz box and just ripping it from beginning to end because that was one of the best solos I’ve heard in a long time. Just so inspiring and I look forward to all of your videos.God bless ya Uncle Larry.
Awesome man. U are my favorite modern guitarist. I just got a Boss RC-5 looper pedal. The compositions u come up with using ur looper are amazing. I hope to get good with mine. U inspire alot of people man
Another fun surprise, Tom! Seeing SRV and songwriter Earl King do this in1986(?) at New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival Gentilly Stage was one of the highlights of my guitar-loving life. Nice selection. Props to Jimi too, yo.
Let the good times roll Tom! COME ON!!! What a tune, love the SRV cover. Great playing man hope Leo gets better soon.
Keep it up Tom, thanks
Hi Uncle Larry🎸 praying for New Orleans🙏
Good to see you today.
Love my Homeskoolin' mug! Daily use.
Good to see ya back, brother! Had me crackin' up this morning. 'The life of the party he was not. "Life is pain" said the goth kid, as he picked up his Telecaster to play some country music. The irony was not lost on him. He couldn't say how long he'd been here, and he had no idea this bus ride would take so long... Perhaps this was his own personal hell loop. A tumultuous bus ride from hell to a gig that never ends. This bus never stops, except at every traffic light. There are no doors, no windows to speak of. Perhaps he has slipped into the multiverse. Another dimension. Perhaps permanent motion sickness is the new way of life. Or perhaps that is just what happens when you enter the Twilight Zone!'
Tom - one of the best ever! BTW - I loved the on-the-bus episode! Screw that guy. You show us the moments 90% of us wish we could be a fly on the wall to see in the life of a session man musician. So glad you’re back. Can’t wait to hear the new CDs. Both will be an instant purchase on iTunes for me. Thank you!! 🥰🥰
So crazy! I was just listening to Electric Ladyland today, having not heard it for a while, and then I open YT, and what do I find?? Uncle Larry, clutch as ever.
Still think Jimi’s version of Watchtower is one of the all time great guitar performances. Maybe the best ever.
I'm about one mile away from Lake Erie - we get some wicked winds coming off the lake when the weather is bad!
Prayers for Leo. So sorry to hear he’s under the weather.
Love to hear you play some Jimi.
Glad you appreciate Hendrix.
Hey Uncle Larry - Jon Anderson sang on your song, WOW!! That is such a compliment & an acknowledgment of your skill - Congrats - can’t wait to hear it! Nice!
That intro startled me in my headsets, wasn’t ready yet for it. 😂😂🤓🤟🔥
Thanks, Tommy!
DANG TOM❤have you ever been.. have you ever been
Uncle Larry laying down some wicked licks!🔥🔥🔥
Great playing and humor!
I just had a really shitty day and this cheered me up! Thanks, Uncle Larry.
How you recount playing your song with Jon Anderson singing to your wife is just beautiful. Congrats on the new album. Can't wait to hear the rest of it tomorrow!
Uncle Larry spot on as usual, especially on the BF pro reverb. I have a 66 and it is an amazing amp. Right on the money with the Vox and Marshall as well. Loved the Jimi jam, a bold as love would be awesome some time. Thanks Buk!
Excellent jam
I feel that I don’t even have to play my guitar, sometimes I feel just listening to you makes me a better guitar player haha thanks bro!
Congrats on the Jon Anderson vocal! That's very cool.
The bus video was on of my fav things! I watched it twice.
Delicious playing there
Thanks Tom. Glad Leo’s ok. Cheers 🍻
Don’t ever be sorry for your mood! Do you! Much love to you and your family.
Thank you for being you Uncle Larry! HA , my two favorite prog bands are Gabriel era Genesis and Yes also.
🎸🎼🎵🎶🧠🌌♾
Tom - *pleeeez* give us a quick rundown on that loop! (I checked out the Jimi version, but you've got some special sauce!)
You are a bad ass keep it coming from uncle Larry we need you brother
Man, you can play any genre and make it sound incredible! #blues #funk #rock #prog #acoustic
Hey Tom. Congratulations man Jon Anderson hell yes!!!! I am drinking coffee and I think it’s rad you’re helping out the small lipped fellows of the world although I am not one of them
You really have a knack for playing with yourself. Inspiring
Pfff. That's one thing I reckon a can beat Tom at!!! Oh. Wait. You mean... Nevermind.
Happiness is..... finding an older Home Skoolin video you don't remember seeing
Yes❤❤
I almost forget about The Gear Page!!
No one will hold that against you Sensei. It's not what it used to be.
I know you are a professional but holy hell Tom everything about the performance here is so impressive. To have that loop with all the breaks timed out perfectly! It would be an interesting (to me) little study to give 100 (or a 1000 or all of them) top guitar players the assignment of recording that loop with no click, no percussion and see what ensued. I have an inkling the results would rarely match up. You are a cut above! No surprise Mr. Anderson wanted to sing along with you. Congrats!
Uncle Lair, dug the Hendrix tune, made my Sunday. How cool is it the guy from Yes couldn’t say no. Keep the faith. Always learn something from your vids.
Kids are amazingly resiliant. I remember one night when my son at 4 years had flu, huge temperature jump and he had a seisure, I thought he was dieing. Got to hospital and 2 hours later right as rain. Freaked me and his mum out. Kids are amazingly resiliant! Good news about Jon A! I'm a big Yes fan as well!
I’m gonna be in Nashville on the 12th and I hope I get the chance to see you again
You’re the closest uncle I have :-) great way to wrap up the weekend thanks man!
Love the guitar! Great tune. I wish my hands worked that well! Good luck with the hurricane. We are trying to avoid evacuations here in Tahoe because of a fire. If it's not one thing....
The Frequency Analyzer. Good show, didn't think anyone had one anymore. Fun box.
Amen Uncle Larry, Ts and Ps for the people in Louisiana. BTW, love the music man cab peering out in the background.
Excellent.
Your Jimi inspired bit was killer!
