    Thank you for posting this! Very good info. When I tried starting my blower the first time this season, it was below zero and the primer bulb wouldn't press. something seermed to cause resistance. Once it was warmer out, I tried it again. no trouble pressing the bulb in but this time I could hear air each time I pressed the bulb and it wasn't moving any fuel at all in the carb. Sounded like just air moving and there was really no resistance with the bulb at all, which I would expect if it was moving fuel. Any idea what could cause this? My first thought was maybe a split somewhere in the line but by the sound, it seems to be moving air and the sound seems to come from the carb. Thanks again for the info!

    Very informative. I just got an older B&S snowblower engine. model 252413-0727-01-87063010 .The primer bulb was stiff so I decided to remove it. However the plastic housing of the primer which is made of plastic cracked so I have to replace the whole assembly. Interesting though is that there are 2 lines going into the primer bulb. I don't know if someone played around with it some time ago or is it an original primer bulb. One line seems to lead directly to the intake pipe and one goes to the carb. Can I just replace the primer bulb with only 1 line that goes to the carb?

    I have a Toro CCR 2450 two stroke. If I push the primer bulb 2 times it floods the engine and won’t start. Instead of using the primer bulb, If I just put the choke on full and pull the starter rope 4 times it starts. Why does it flood when using the primer bulb? I am reluctant to use the primer bulb because I don’t want to hassle with a flooded engine when It’s time to move the snow. Any suggestions?

    Hi bro, a great admirer of yours from Toronto. I have a Brigg and Stratton snow blower that has exactly the same carburetor. The problem you discussed in this video, I’m having the same with mine. I press the primer button and start it with electricity because it doesn’t start manually. It stays on as long as I keep pressing the primer but when I remove my hand, the engine turns off. I removed the carburetor cleaned it very well and made sure it’s not clogged, put a new spark plug but it still won’t start. Please suggest something that I’m missing. Thank you

    • @EliminatorPerformance
      @EliminatorPerformance  Před rokem +1

      You might want to make sure fuel is flowing from the fuel tank, as well as through the carb. Remove the bowl on the carb while it's on the Snow blower and turn on your fuel, make sure fuel is coming out. Will be a mess but sometimes they clog at the line or sometimes there's a small screen in the fuel inlet. Search donyboy hidden screen in carb.

    Make a bubble carb it's like they should have always been there it's perfect it act as it's own filter like a water bong and you can even use bad gas because it just uses the vapors it doesn't use the liquid as long as it got vapors it's good maybe add a heater to make more vapors but it works good on a 150cc scooter

    I would also stress the importance of a good sealing gasket for the bowl. If the bowl gasket isn’t making a good seal not only will it leak gas but the primer wont be able to pressurize the fuel in the bowl to force it through the Venturi.

    One thing that I would like to know is why does the primer bulb have a small hole in the center of the red part. When you press on the primer bulb, your finger is loosely covering the hole.

    • @EliminatorPerformance
      @EliminatorPerformance  Před 3 lety

      That's to let the air back in when you release your finger, so it doesn't suck fuel up the line! Thanks for watching!

    What would cause the fuel to come out from the primer button constantly but no start from the snow blower? Even when off and the fuel button is left on the fuel is just pouring out, what would cause that?.

    • @EliminatorPerformance
      @EliminatorPerformance  Před 3 lety +1

      Probably a leaking needle valve! The bowl is sealed, and if you're main jet is clogged and the needle valve leaks, the fuel would most likely leak out of the primer

    have you ever dealt with these new Murray push mowers leaking gas from the primer bulb? czcams.com/video/5AV2gn0YLUs/video.html he did push the primer bulb like 20 times before it leaked so maybe it's normal for it to leak if you over-prime it. but he still goes on to show the mower is a piece of shit right out of the box. Or maybe it's possible it's not a piece of shit. If you over prime it from the start, does the gas level in the carburetor return to normal while mowing or will the gas continue to flow and keep the carburetor overfilled and choke out the engine?
