They do make an interesting sound!

About a week ago I hatched my first few quail! It was my third attempt and I now have 3 very tiny birds in the brooder. They’re button quail.
We hatched a few button quail last summer as well. They are very tiny birds! Good luck with your adventure!

I have Japanese quail, mainly for eggs but we use excess males for meat when we hatch some out.

I used to have a few Bobwhite myself, They were fun but Bobwhites are very aggressive and should not be kept with other Poultry
With quail being so small would they still pose a threat to chickens? Ive considered getting quail for quite a long time.
Another question… is it true quail are adventurous and will not stay inside of my fenced yard? My main concern is I do not like to coop my birds all day long but I’ve heard quail will venture out of the yard and become dog or cat food.
They will wander if not enclosed.
